Chapter 9: The Shadow Of The Moonlight

Chapter Eight: The Shadow Of The Moonlight.

Recently on Apocalypse; Rise of the Titans:

The light disappeared, and the person standing in front of me, was not Ichigo. My eyes widened and I took a step back.

"Who are you?!" I screamed as my eyesight turned black.

---

TRIGGER WARNING: BORING AS FUC*!

My vision returned, and I found myself on the floor. I blinked. What just happened? Had I blacked out? No...

I stood up and spun around, watching as a shadow darted around wildly. I immediately figured it was Cat. My eyes could barely follow her. I hadn't blacked out; her attack had temporarily blinded me. A flash of purple flashed through my sight before something whizzed past me and ripped through my stomach.

Blood splurted to the ground. I took a shaky step back, putting pressure on my injured leg. It throbbed painfully. I held the deeply bleeding claw mark on my stomach tightly, trying to stop some of the blood. A puddle of blood was already beginning to form on the ground. I felt like I was about to throw up. Dammit. How deep is it?!

I struggled to stay conscious as my eyesight began to blur. My eyes couldn't keep track of her movements anymore. She whizzed past me again. Pain smeared through my right shoulder. A slight choke/scream left my throat. I held my shoulder with my free arm.

I glared at the sky, not really knowing where Cat was at the moment. I spat out a large amount of blood. Not good... I'll black out soon...

"Who are you?" I asked weakly, almost tripping. I caught myself in time. Cat did not answer me but instead kept darting around. "Dammit."

Black spots appeared in my vision and I began falling. The blood lost sapped my strength easily. As I fell, someone with a cat tail and cat ears appeared in front of me, blocking an attack. My eyes widened.

"Ich...Igo..." I muttered. I fell to the ground. I blacked out in a pool of my own blood.

There are 128 days left until the Lunar Moon Eclipse Weapon is activated.

------

When I came to, voices were heard around me. My body felt like lead. I kept my eyes shut, partially to hear the conversation around me, and partially because I couldn't open them.

"I can't believe you did that!" One voice yelled. It sounded female.

"I thought he was a villain!" Another voice shouted back. It sounded familiar?

"Even if he was, you're supposed to be a hero! Heroes don't try to murder their opponents!" I could only sense two people in the room, meaning it was most likely only this arguing duo.

"I wasn't trying to murder him! I just wanted him to pass out so I could bring him back here!" The voice argued back. Why did it sound somewhat familiar? Cat?

"There are easier ways to knock somebody out! You don't have to cut them half to death to do so! What if you couldn't stop the bleeding in time?! He would have died! Heck, he could have just been a random kid! He may not even be a villain!"

"He's way too smart to be some random kid!" Cat yelled.

"Smart kids do exist, ya know!"

"So what? He hinted that he's either a hero or a villain!"

"That doesn't mean you should make him bleed half to death!"

"Nah, I don't mind." I stated, butting into their argument. I opened my eyes and looked at the two shocked girls staring at me. I stared at them for a minute before deciding who they were. It was Cat and Ichigo.

"How long were you awake?!" Ichigo asked in a accusing voice.

"Long enough, I suppose," I stared up at the ceiling. "Where am I?"

"In a totally not-weird-way, our house," Ichigo replied.

"You two live together?'

"Siblings," Cat stated.

"Correction: Squabbling Sibling."

"I will rip your throat out," Cat threatened.

"No death! And no blood!" Ichigo shouted.

"Death is always the answer!"

"No it's not! Especially not in the case! Man, you play too many video games."

"There is no such thing as too many video games!" Cat practically cried. I stared at the two arguing siblings before looking at the wall again. Their argument sounded as if they had only just got free time, and decided to "talk" about it there, but yet it would take me quite a few hours to wake up from that kind of injury. The squabbling two quietened down, and Ichigo turned to face me with a sigh.

"How are you feeling?" She asked.

"Little heavy, but I'll recover. How long have I been here for?" I asked.

"Few hours. It's around 10 at night. I need to go back on patrol in a few minutes."

"I see..." I attempted to sit up again.

"You shouldn't try to get up yet. You have various different injuries that still need to heal," Ichigo walked up to me and pushed me back down. "And quite a few of them, weren't just from her."

"I have to go meet someone," I replied flatly.

"Can't it wait till morning?"

"If I send them a text to let them know I'm okay."

"Cat."

"Yeah, yeah. You put his phone over there, right?" Cat sighed, dragging herself over to a metal table.

"It should be next to the database."

"What's your password?" Cat asked.

"Don't have one. It's a new phone."

"Contact name?"

"Cameron."

"Done," Cat sighed and placed the phone down. I stared at Cat, finally taking in her appearance. She wore a purple belly top made out of some shiny material I couldn't actually identify, purple shiny shorts, and death traps which were boots that went up above her knee. Her hair was a light brown, with dark brown wolf ears sticking out. I also noticed a brown wolf tail sticking out behind her and a slight fang when she talked.

"Do you guys have the same powers?" I asked.

"Essentially," Ichigo said, not even turning to face me as she searched for something in a green box.

"I only just got my powers. Ichigo is more experienced than I am, and actually knows how to use more than one transformation," Cat explained.

"Your powers are actually pretty special though, huh?"

"Sure. Compared to most heroes, I guess you could say that," Cat turned to face me, bandages in hand. "I need to put more bandages on your arm, its bleeding through. Turns out, it was a double injury," Ichigo momentarily turned to glare at Cat before turning to me again.

"Double injury?" I asked. When did I get a second injury?

"Before Cat tried to practically rip off your shoulder," Ichigo started, vemon seeping from her words, "There was another injury there. Well, two more precisely. Fractured bone and then deep brusing. I'm no doctor, but its obvious that isn't good. How did you get that kind of injury anyway?"

"A fight."

"That wasn't a normal fight. I don't sense any powers from you, so how could you get an injury like that?"

"You can tell I don't have powers?"

"I can detect it from your aura. I guess you could say it's an addition power. Aura detection. Not really a good name, but its good enough," Ichigo briefly explained. She pulled back and tossed some bloodied bandages into the bin. "I can also tell you're not from this city. You have a Gotham smell around you. Why are you in this city?"

"You can smell that? Wow. I actually came here looking for you."

"Why were you looking for me?"

"It could take some time to explain and you said you had patrol, right?" I asked. Something buzzed in the room. Probably Cameron texting back.

"Yeah. Can it wait for a few hours?"

"Sure," Ichigo smiled and tightened the bandages around my arm. She put the bandages back in the green box and turned away. "We can talk about it later, I promise. For now, just try to rest," She walked away. She stopped and glared at Cat, having a silent conversation with her through eye contact. Cat stared at her before sighing.

"Yeah, I got it. I know. No need to say anything," Cat muttered. Ichigo sighed and walked off, waving her hand slightly at me before disappearing up some stairs. I also noticed her tail twitch in annoyance. I stuffled a laugh,

The room was silent for a few minutes before I spoke up again.

"So? Have you got yourself a name yet?" I asked as I sat up.

"Yeah. Kill the guy in front of me," Cat sneered.

"Lovely."

"I knew something was weird from the moment I met you," Cat glared at me.

"Not bad. But I'm not a villain so you don't have to attempt to kill me."

"Not good enough. Look, you practically know who I am, so tell me who you are. If you even have an identity that is."

"You don't seem to be feeling the aster."

"Feeling the what?"

"If like is the opposite of dislike, then isn't aster the opposite of disaster?"

"You're a weird kid."

"So I've been told."

"I'll ask again. Who are you?"

"I guess I can tell you," Since Batman is... "Call me Robin. I'm the protege of Batman." I smiled at Cat. Cat choked on air.

"You're who?! I don't think I heard it right!"

"Robin, Protege of Batman," I smirked.

"You?! How?!"

"Well, you see... There was a... And a... It all started with a circus and a guy named Tony Zucco," My eye twitched.

"You make no sense."

"I'm painfully aware."

"So, what are you called?"

"I... Ugh, fine."

"Wait!"

"What?"

"Which is the real you?" I asked.

"The real... Me? What do you mean?" Cat growled.

"Earlier. You were more happy. More enthustatic. But now you're all gloomy and dark. Which is the real you?" This situation reminds me a lot of Bruce. During the day he smiles more, but at night, its like he doesn't know what a smile is. But the daytime Bruce was the real one, despite the fact you may see some of Batman's traits throughout the day. Cat sighed.

"Their both acts. Earlier, I was pretending to be what Ichigo is like in her Civilian form."

"But you used you're real name, right?"

"Yeah. You probably already heard it so there was no point in hiding it."

"I see... Although, it's kind of cliche, having the name Cat and then animal instincts," I laughed slightly. Cat rolled her eyes.

"Tell me about it," She muttered. I snickered quietly. Silence passed between us. It wasn't awkward silence, it was a comfortable silence.

"Moonlight," Cat randomly stated.

"What?" I asked, confused by her sudden statement.

"'The shadow of the moonlight that forecasts all. That's how I got my name. Moonlight." Cat explained. My eyes widened.

"Thats actually-" I started but was cut off as the ground began to shake. A loud explosion was heard.

A/N

Please note, I am still on hiatus. However, I didn't wanna be a complete bitch and not update whatsoever.
