Chapter 6

Baris' POV
"Let's go, I have to go prepare for my date with Murat later on tonight" My sister sat up outstretching my hand to help me up.

We were currently having our usual Sunday afternoon picnic in the park.

It's our sibling ritual ever since our parents passed away years ago.

I stood up to my full height handing her the basket and blanket.

"Alright, you cheeky girl" I said pinching her cheek.

Seline glared at me moving out of my grasp.

"Ow that hurt, I wonder if my skin would snap back in place now" She exaggerated making me roll my eyes before bursting into laughter.

I waved her goodbye as she went the other direction.

Going up the grassy hill, to the road where I had parked my car.

Out of nowhere a small toddler bumped into me falling on her diapered butt.

I picked the little girl off the ground and broke into a grin when the curly haired dark-skinned child sent me a toothless smile.

"Hey sweetie, where's your mommy?" I asked the little child know damn well I wasn't going to get an answer.

I looked around to see a frantic woman with a big kinky Afro and glowing skin like the baby when she came up close I could see her watery eyes.

"Oh Daisy, don't ever scare mommy like that." The young woman carried her daughter out of my arms hugging the girl tightly.

Then she looked up at me with a small smile.

"Thank you so much for catching her. Daisy, just started walking about a month ago and she can't seem to keep her little behind in one place always has the urge to move around." I think she realized she was rambling that's why she stopped.

"I'm Azalea" She outstretched her free hand looking at me with expectancy.

"Baris" I shook her hand smiling.

"It was nice meeting you. Have a good day Ms. Azalea and little Miss Daisy" I told them with a wink then waved the beautiful mother/daughter duo a goodbye.

Reaching into my jacket, I pulled out my car keys and a familiar beautiful smile flashed in my head.

"Willow" I said her name out loud as I opened up the car door.

I haven't seen her in class for about a week now, she missed a lot and I missed having her in my arms.

I wonder what happened, I cannot even get a hold of her because I failed to ask for her phone number.

I'm sure Willow would have refused to give it to me with an excuse that it wouldn't be professional.

Maybe I should email her and I might know what's going on.

Starting on my car, I turned up the volume of the jazz music blasting from the speaker.

My finger danced on the steering wheel as I zoomed out of the street to the main road.

Now I need to go get real food because Selin forced me to eat all that vegan nonsense she prepared for our picnic.

Thank God, it's my turn to bring refreshments next week.

I can't handle eating another "Tofu Turkey" I don't have anything against people who think eating leaves, wheats and tofu for the rest of their lives instead of the good stuff.

I just don't like it when they try to force it on me, my ex-fiancée did exactly that now my sister is doing the same.

We only live once, so why not indulge in all the delicious yet unhealthy things this world has to offer?

I love my sister a lot but she needs to lay off my lifestyle.

Willow's POV
"Mummy, why won't you give me your old car? I already have my license and I'm very responsible" I kept whining next to her as she laid on her bed watching a video someone sent her on WhatsApp.

She kept ignoring until I started tugging on her hand try to get her attention.

My mum got a promotion and she decided to treat herself to a new car.

A white BMW SUV for that matter.

I just want her to give me her Land Rover because I'm sick of taking the damn bus to school everytime.

"Come on mommy, it's not fair most of my friends from High School already have their own cars—" And she cut me off mid sentence.

"Darling, owning a car comes with a lot of responsibility and I'm not sure if you're matured enough to be given a car yet." I almost rolled my eyes at her words.

Tf is she talking about? I'm basically Jaylen's second mother.

I take care of my dad and brother like they were my own responsibilities.

I find it very unfair that she thinks I'm incapable of owning a mere car.

"Mummy, just admit that you don't want to give me your car instead of telling me something you know isn't true" I muttered angrily before walking out of my parents bedroom.

I can't even ask my dad because that man basically worships the ground my mum walks on.

Whatever she says goes, she calls all the shots and he's always agreeing with her even though she's wrong.

This is why best friends can't be in a relationship they always discuss things between each other before making a decision together.

By together, I mean my mother's choice.

"Agh, she pisses me off!" I groaned while walking past my brother's bedroom and like the nosey pest that he is.

Jaylen opened his door, in only basketball shorts and his gaming headphones on his ears.

"What's up sis, you good?" He asked with a that evil smirk on his face.

"Yes fool, now go back to doing your stupid whatever" I told him pushing him back into his bedroom and closing the door.

I went inside my room, grabbing a Nike windbreaker and matching sneakers and a black baseball cap.

Exiting my room, I jogged downstairs to the kitchen to grab the keys to the garage to get my bicycle.

Using the backdoor, I went into the backyard opening the storage that looks like a mini house.

Got my bike out then locked up the storage pocketing the keys in my windbreak.

I swung a leg across the bicycle and rode out of the compound

"Hey Willow" I heard Leon my ex boyfriend call out to my name.

He jogged up to the empty road of our street where I was getting ready to go on my evening ride around the neighborhood.

I rolled my eyes before turning around to face the stupid dickhead that broke my heart 2 years ago.

On my birthday with only a text that said 'I'm done' I was so confused by the text I kept on calling his number to know what's going on.

This dude moved out of his parents home to live with his older sister in Staten Island the same day and never once contacted me about what he meant by that single text.

That was my very first heartbreak and I felt like shit, this bastard used me and tossed me aside like I was nothing with any justifiable reasoning.

Thank God, I wasn't stupid enough to give my virginity to him no matter how much he pressured me.

I seriously dodged a bullet with this bloody bloke.

I guess he moved back in with his parents who live across the street from my house.

"Can I help you?" I asked rather rudely.

"Hey wassup with you?" He held his hands up in surrender looking over my body with a lustful look in his eyes.

"Damn, you look good as always" Leon said biting on his bottom lip.

If this was 2 years ago, I would've found that shit sexy now it's just straight up disgusts me.

Why did I even find him attractive in the first place? Who am I kidding, I couldn't help myself even if I wanted.

This tall 6'2 brown skin, freckled face handsome piece of shit.

"Was that supposed to be a compliment?" Why am I still talking to this imbecile.

Rolling my eyes at him, I sat on my bike and peddled away ignoring his call for me to come back.

Bloody asshole, like who the fuck breaks up with someone over a text? That's such a bitch move and it was sneaky as hell.

If you want to end something with someone do it properly instead of disgracing them with a text!

I hate him so much, seeing his face made me 10 times angrier than I was before.

Alex Hibbert as Jaylen James.

Keith Powers as Leon Davis
