Feeling it was the right thing to do, Lucky called his friend and told him all that Mary had told him. Lucky was still in shock that, the person he respected the most in the house, turned out to be the monster who crept in every midnight to torment Mary.
Adam - Lucky's friend - didn't let him finish before he aggressively interrupted him. "Who told you!" he shouted in pure anger.
Lucky was surprised, that he immediately became dumbfounded.
"I said, who told you?" he asked more angrily, making Lucky stare at him in doubt.
He wasn't expecting such a reaction. He was expecting him to be irritated at the monster who did that to his little girl, not irritated at him and 'the person' who told him. Lucky was so disappointed. "Why are you so concerned about who told me, rather than what is going on in this house?" Lucky asked in a calm sad voice. He began to feel more pity for the young girl. He began to see reasons why she couldn't speak up. Her dad was fully aware of it but chose to keep quiet.
"Who told you?" he pressed.
Lucky said nothing but stared.
"I said who told you! Who told you! You won't answer, right? I know it's that little pimp that doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut."
Lucky felt so disappointed and hurt.
"Martha! Bring your sister to me right now!" Adam shouted again, while Lucky shook his head in pity.
