a bird whose wings have been clipped too long,
she's long been ready to fly free from her cage.
but she is ordered to keep still and look pretty,
stay instead of fly, tweet and sing to the clouds.
so she nods and waits in her cage, knowing that
there will be a day to come that the songbird
will become an eagle, one with the birds.
