Mistake
"The Host needs Mark to wake up."
Mark blearily sat and glanced over to see that he had been sleeping on the Host's shoulder, a string of drool visible on his tan coat as Mark's face flushed a light red hue in embarrassment.
"Sorry." Mark apologized hastily as he swiped the liquid away with his hand, the Host shaking his head with a slight smile in response. "The Host doesn't mind."
"Hey Mark, you wanna see something funny?" Wilford questioned mischievously, Mark frowning warily as the pink mustached ego turned to face Google as he drove.
"Hey Google, why do humans exist? Hey Google, what's the meaning of death? Hey Google, what existed before the universe? Hey Google, is God real?"
"I-humans-death is-universe-God-" Google's head twitched spastically before he abruptly shut down with his head drooping forward, club footing the accelerator to make the car veer towards the base of a building.
"Wilford!" Mark snapped as the psychotic male reached over and grabbed the wheel, excitement lighting up his features. "What? This is fun!"
"What the fuck?!"
Mark looked at the rear view mirror to see Dark clinging onto the side of the truck, his expression twisted with rage as he fought to climb back up into the bed of the truck with the help of the Jim twins.
"STOP!" Dark shouted with a tinge of desperation in his voice, his fingers slipping off of the side as the car sped up. "WILL!"
Wilford abruptly slammed on the brakes in response, causing the car to spin out and slam side-first into a worn down apartment building with a bang, glass shards peppering the people in the car as their heads hit the back of their seats.
"What the hell Wilford?!" Mark blurted furiously as he scrambled out of the car with Doctor Iplier and the Host, both appearing to be fine with only minor cuts and bruises much to Mark's relief as he checked on Google. "Please be okay."
Google's forehead was burning up, his body deathly still much to the YouTuber's concern as he glanced around to look for Doctor Iplier.
"Mark, we need to get far away from the car." Doctor Iplier directed tersely, the metal support beans of the building groaning as they started to bend.
"Don't need to tell me twice." Mark grunted as he jogged away from the wreck, the Host following with Google slung across his shoulder.
"I hope it explodes!" Wilford cheered eagerly, Mark rolling his eyes as they stopped a safe distance away to wait for the others.
"My camera!"
The empty handed Jim ran back towards the wreck before Dark could stop him, the demon shoving the other twin to safety before running back to stop the Jim.
The support beams of the building finally snapped as Jim reached the car and reached into the back to retrieve his camera, a large amount of debris descending towards him as Dark struggled to reach him in time while muttering curse words under his breath.
"Jim come back!" The other Jim twin cried as Mark held him back to prevent him from going after his twin, Dark reaching the car just as the debris made contact.
"NO!" Mark screamed as a large cloud of dust flew up accompanied with the sound of crushed metal, the YouTuber unable to see Dark or Jim through the shroud.
"The Host knows that the author is too emotionally attached to us to kill anyone off, however they like to create drama with near death experiences." The Host stated calmly as Jim emerged through the dust with his camera in hand. "They are especially attached to-"
"Where's Dark?" Doctor Iplier called out to Jim as he fell to his knees coughing, the doctor kneeling in front of him with the other Jim twin by his side. "Dark!"
"A little help?!"
Mark could see through the dust that Dark's leg was pinned under wreckage, the demon's eyes betraying his pain as he gritted his teeth and fought to wriggle free to no avail.
"Hang on!" Wilford shouted as he ran forward, the dust fading as the pink mustached ego reached the trapped demon. "We'll get you out."
"What happened? I think I malfunctioned." Google mumbled as he woke up, the Host lowering him to the ground. "I don't understand."
"Hey Google, help Wilford." Mark directed, the android sighing before he reluctantly jogged over to Wilford and helped move debris off of Dark's leg. "I hate all of you."
"Fuck, I can't move my leg." Dark growled as he managed to army crawl out of the wreckage, Doctor Iplier leaving the Jim twins to check on Dark. "Let me see."
"Does this hurt?" Doctor Iplier asked as he gently lifted Dark's injured leg up slightly, the demon hissing in pain as he slapped the doctor's hand away.
"Yes that fucking hurts!" Dark snapped irritably, Wilford helping him stand without putting pressure on his leg.
"Judging by the angle of your leg, I'd say that your tibia is broken, which is amazing since that's the hardest bone in your body to break." Doctor Iplier observed. "It should heal, however your leg won't be the same."
"Lucky me." Dark growled as he attempted to bend his leg, bone visible through the torn skin and fabric on his leg. "Well that's not good."
"Mark, I need to get to a hospital so I can put Dark's leg in a proper cast. Without it, his leg won't heal right." Doctor Iplier stated grimly as the YouTuber approached the group with the Jim twins. "There's also the risk of infection."
"You saved me...why?" Jim questioned Dark as he let the demon sling his other arm around his shoulder so he and Wilford could help him walk. "Why risk your life for me?"
"As much as I may hate you, you're family, and family takes care of each other." Dark answered with a shrug, Mark smiling slightly as he turned to look at Google. "Hey Google, how far are we from the nearest hospital?"
"Approximately seven point two miles, and it's not the hospital we stumbled upon earlier." Google assured the group, earning a chorus of relieved sighs. "We should get there in approximately one and a half hours on foot."
"Let's go, we've got a lot of ground to cover." Mark told the group before walking, praying that they would all make it there without any more problems.
