Today was the day, they had to tell Lina because Riley and Sam were shipping out tomorrow morning, you can tell their tent had this air of tenseness around them. They knew that she would support them but she would be upset that they didn't tell her sooner. "It's going to be fine you, or at least I think it will be," Sam said stopping folding his clothes for a second to look at Riley who was doing the same. "I know, I'm just a little stressed but we only have 4 days left then you and I will be together forever." It was clear that Riley trying to only focus on that to get him through but Sam understood, he couldn't wait either to spend the rest of their lives together.

"I can't wait, we only have two more hard things left." Sam smiled slightly as he walked towards Riley who was standing by his bed folding his clothes that he wouldn't need. Riley hummed as Sam went behind him and hugged him from behind, it was brave to do but they didn't care anymore. "I'm hoping that Khalid Khandil doesn't give us too much trouble, the recon that they're doing still says it looks safe at least over by where we're going to take off from. Palmer said that it should be a one-day thing so it should be easy, or at least easier than our other high target jobs." Riley sighed as he placed some shirts into his bag and turned around to sit on the bed, he watched as Sam groaned and moved Riley's stuff aside sightly so he can sit next to Riley. "Don't say that, we will be fine, and hey. I still have the necklace, and all you have to do is say you want it back and it's yours." Sam lifted the cross necklace from under his shirt and smoothed it out so it was straight against his shirt. "No, I gave it to you. I don't care what happens to me, as long as you're okay that's what matters." Riley grabbed the necklace and thumbed it before letting it drop against Sam's chest.

Sam sighed and grabbed Riley's hand before he let it drop to his leg. "Riles, hey. I love you and I'll always have your back, cross necklace or no cross necklace. I know it means something to you but you know not religious but if you believe in this, then so do I." Riley chuckled wetly as he rolled his eyes at Sam. "You're such a dork, I know that I'm usually the optimistic one and not so pessimistic but I just can't help but feel like something is going to go wrong. I don't know if it's about telling Lina, about the mission, or if something bad is at home. It could just be my nerves, but I'm going to try to push that feeling away because we're going home soon." Riley smiled or tried to smile at Sam but the smile didn't reach his eyes and he knew that Sam knew because he used the pad of his thumbs to rub his cheekbone softly, Riley closed his eyes and started to lean into the touch when a cough interrupted them, Riley snapped his eyes open and yanked his face and hand that was still being held by Sam away and looked guilty towards the door.

Riley let out a sigh of relief when he saw it was just Lina standing by the entrance of the tent looking at the couple amused. "Sorry to interrupt whatever this is but Palmer told me you had something to tell me," Lina said not looking sorry at all as she walked further into the tent and grabbed a spare chair to sit on pulling it closer to Riley's cot that the couple was sitting on. Sam sighed and looked at Riley with an encouraging look so he took a deep breath and grabbed onto Sam's hand who squeezed Riley's hand.

"Tomorrow, Sam and I are going on a mission to capture Khalid Khandil in Bakhmala. None of the Helicopters can get in close enough without being hit so we're being assigned and this is going to be our last mission before we leave." Riley explains letting out a sigh when he was finished giving all the details that he was authorized to, to Lina. She sat back in the chair and crossed her arms as she looked at them. "Why didn't you tell me?" Lina asks with a slight raise of her brow. "We thought it best that we would tell you the day before, Palmer says it shouldn't take more than one day so we'll leave tomorrow morning and we should be back later that night with Khalid," Sam explained as he rubbed his thumb on the back of Riley's hand.

Lina nodded before she leaned forward and smiled. "I appreciate you two telling me, I know that in the past I disobeyed orders to protect my friends but I know I can't do that so as hard as it is to sit back on the sidelines and watch you go in that helicopter. I will be here waiting for you guys to step off and come back to safety." Lina looked at the couple encouragingly before she stood up and kissed them both on the cheeks. "Now, I'm gonna go because you guys need to finish packing and It's almost dinner time or at least mine because I have the night shift." Riley frowned for a split second before he changed it into a smile quickly. "Thanks, Lina," Riley said as she walked away, she nodded and waved at them before she walked out of the tent to grab her dinner.

"Well, that went better than expected." Sam looked at Riley who let out a sigh. "It did, I'm glad." Riley smiled but it didn't reach his eyes, Sam pressed their lips together quickly before patting his leg as he stood up. "Where are you going?" Riley whined not making any motions to get up. "We have to finish packing like Lina said. We need to have our four outfits out for tomorrow, the day after, and then when we go home but we can pack the rest besides our hygiene products." Riley huffed but he knew that Sam was right so he got up from his bed and started to sluggishly put his clothes into his bag leaving four outfits out so they would have enough.
