It's only been one day but both Riley and Sam have been having a hard time keeping the secret of their mission from Lina, they don't know if she's noticed but both of them have had a pit in their stomach every time they walk past her. They would like nothing more to tell her about this mission but they've been sworn to keep a secret, so they will.

Sam glances from Riley towards the tent that houses Palmer's office. "Do you think he'll find out if we tell her?" Sam asks Riley keeping his voice low so no one would hear him even though they're sitting in their tent but the flaps were open so they knew anyone could walk by and hear what they're saying. "Of course, he'd find out, he's Palmer. He's everything." It was like Palmer knew that someone was talking about him because he walked out of his tent and looked around before spotting Riley and Sam and started to walk toward the couple.

"Boys." Palmer stood in front of Riley and Sam with crossed arms almost like he was about to scold the two of them. "Sir, we weren't going to do anything." Riley starts but Palmer holds his hand up to silence him. "But you two were thinking about it, I know you want to but you can't tell her, it's for safety alright. Remember before I was in charge I was right beside you three so I know what she's like. She would want to join you just to protect you two but she can't, just like I can't. The only ones that can go are you two and the pilot to the helicopter so he drops you close enough, but the only reason you can tell her the day before is that I know you wouldn't be able to hold it in. You two can do this." Palmer nodded at them confidently before he turns around and walks back towards his tent. But they couldn't get a chance to relax because Lina walked up to them and dragged a lawn chair that was by the entrance of their tent and sat it near them so she can sit with them.

"What's up?" Lina says as unwraps the cookies that they were sent by charity. Sam glanced over at Riley and saw that his hand was shaking slightly from the secret so Sam adjusted his position in his chair before deciding to speak first so that would give Riley time to come up with something. "Nothing much, we're just deciding what we want to do when we go home." Sam looked at Riley with a smile and he gave him a slight nod telling him to keep going. "Oh right, 9 days left right?" Riley nods at Lina with a slight smile. "Our plan still is to go to Sam's parents but I want him to take me to the Wilson Family Seafood. I miss his family and I would like to go to the pier with you again, of course." Riley looked over at Sam fondly, Sam noticed that his hand had stopped shaking from nervousness so he counted that as a win.

In front of them, Lina laughed as she took a bite of her cookie. "You two are so gross it's sicking, when am I going to get to meet these amazing parents your Sam?" Lina looked at Sam with her eyebrow raised, Sam chuckled before shrugging. "Maybe after we settle in, that sounds nice doesn't it babe?" Sam looked at Riley with a smile, he whispered the babe part so only Riley could hear it which by the twitch of his finger told Sam that Riley wanted to hold his hand but he couldn't at least not until tonight. "Sounds like a plan." Riley scooted back in his chair slightly and looked at both Lina and Sam with a smile. "Okay, I gotta go cause I'm on night duty so I have to rest up. But I'll see you later." Lina dramatically blows a kiss to the two of them they laugh at her but they catch it all the same and push it into both of their hearts for dramatic effect.

Sam shakes his head fondly as Lina walks away to go towards her tent to get some rest. He looks over to Riley and the smile doesn't leave his face, in just 9 days he can wake up with Riley next to him and he can't wait for that to be his new reality, they've both done two full tours with the air force which consisted of 8 years for the both of them and they've recently passed their 2nd anniversary without either one of them remembering but when Riley did find out they missed it he laughed as he told Sam who in turn laughed as well so they were ready. They felt like it was time for the two of them to start beginning to have a life together and neither of them could wait. "What are you thinking about?" Riley questioned Sam softly breaking him out of his thoughts.

"Our future," Sam replied rubbing a hand over his head before letting his arm rest behind his head. "I can't wait, what are you most excited about?" Riley asks looking at Sam with a tilt of his head. "Well, besides seeing you every day probably eating at Maricela's I miss your Mom's cooking holy crap." Riley let out a laugh but he smothered it with a hand over his mouth so he wouldn't draw any attention to the two of them. "I know that Mom would be happy to make you something, for me it would be seeing my cat again. Speak of, are you sure you're ready to be a parent to a cat?" Riley is talking about Acacia which makes a smile appear on Sam's face.

"With you by my side, I'm ready for anything."
