Tabi's

"Truly I do." Gracie continued, not letting go of Jin's arm. He wasn't trying to get away. He just stood there.

"How can you love me, without knowing who I am?" He asked, not turning around.

"Everyday I took care of you. Watched after you and talked to you all the time. Then when you woke up, I was around. However the only person you saw was my sister. Had her quite perplexed."

Jin looked up at the night sky. Her voice was the same. Why he thought her sister was Y/N still confused him.

"Why didn't you say your name was Gracie when you talked to me?"

Gracie let go of his arm. She wasn't sure herself. Maybe she wanted him to know her for her. Not for the nickname she had been given. Although she preferred the nickname.

"Not very many people know me by my real name. I guess you could say. I wanted you to truly know me. Somehow I messed that part up." Gracie sighed. Jin turned around to find her staring at her feet with a pout.

"So you wanted me to know you?"

Her blue eyes met his soft brown ones.

"Yes."

"Then why would you describe your sister? Did you think I wouldn't like you because of how you look?"

"I didn't."

"Somebody did."

"I didn't describe myself. Nor my sister. I did talk about the noodle bar in great detail and the people there. Even my house, some of my art work and my sisters."

"So that was true."

"What?"

"You are an artist."

"Oh... yea— I stopped."

"Why?"

"My dad."

"What did he do?"

"He passed away and all I wanted to do after was help people. So that maybe they wouldn't have to go through what my sister and I did."

"I'm sorry."

Gracie shook her head.

"It was years ago. I put myself through school and started my first rounds when you came through the doors of the ER."

"You were?"

"I was the first person to treat you."

Jin stared at her, taking in every inch of her soft round face. How her hair fell in wild waves down to her shoulders. She was curvy and the way her jeans hugged her thighs. Made him think of the time in his coma memories when they had gone to the fair. He loved following behind her just a little bit.

He smiled at her.

"What?"

"Who did you go to the fair with?"

"Huh?"

"You talked about the fair and how you loved the chili cheese fries."

Gracie chuckled softly.

"Yoongi took me. He was trying to get me out of my shell."

A pang of jealousy shot through him. Was he a threat? Could she be dating him already? They were just together.

"Uh— Are you guys dating?"

"Oh goodness no."

Relief washed over him at that bit of information. Although he wasn't sure if there was need to worry. She did say she loved him after all. A smug grin spread across his face, making her giggle.

"So... are you hungry?"

She tilted her head.

"I could eat."

"Want to go get some ramen with me? Hold the cute little ghost peppers?"

Gracie smacked his arm.

"Hey!"

Jin just laughed, falling in step beside her. Gracie glanced up at him. His dark brown hair blowing in the breeze. He didn't look like he was going to break at any moment. Did she still need to worry?

They walked along to the bus stop. Jin thought it would be fun to ride the night bus. Turns out it's not. It smelled of old salami and corn chips. So when the bus stopped at the next stop they jumped off.

"Oh my gosh that was awful." Gracie grimaced, walking down the street.

"You're not kidding."

Jin smiled, it was as if nothing changed. They fit well together. Even the bad decision of getting on the bus didn't change the mood. He strolled alongside her wanting so badly to hold her hand. But not wanting to just in case he was reading everything all wrong.

"It's closed." Gracie pouted, pointing to the sign on the door. Jin glanced at his wristwatch and sighed it was almost midnight. Guess that's what they get for walking.

"We could go to Tabi's, it should still be open."

"What's that?"

"You mean to tell me you've never been to Tabi's?" Jin was shocked considering he had been the one in the coma, not her.

"Can't say that I have."

"You'll love it. Namjoon and I would go there to sober up after long nights at the bar or just late nights in general."

"Well if you say it's good. I'll try it." Gracie smiled up at him.

All around people hurried along. The further they walked the thinner the groups became. Eventually there were only a few drunken stragglers. Stumbling along with the help of a wall or lamp post.

"I never really understood it."

"What's that?" Jin asked.

"How could someone get so drunk with no regards."

Jin sighed, watching a man fall forward into a trash can puking his brains out. He was that guy more times than he could count. Looking at the man in front of them now. He was disappointed in his past self. So many things could be different right now. Had it not been for him and Namjoon getting in the car after Jungkook's concert.

"Stupidity... mostly."

They hurried past the man, turning down the next street to see Tabi's which read Tai, due to the letters being out.

"Fancy." Mused Gracie, Jin chuckled, holding the door open for her. The smell of pancakes and fresh coffee met them.

Standing behind the counter stood an older lady with her hair pulled way too tight in a bun. She had glasses that fell just short of the tip of her nose. She smiled at them with one tooth missing.

Jin sat down in a corner booth and Gracie slid in the seat in front of him.

"That's Tabi. She's the owner. Nicest lady I know."

Tabi approached the table, reaching for her ticket book in her apron.

"It's been awhile, handsome." She nodded towards Jin. Her eyes drifted over to Gracie.

"I see we have a lady friend now."

"Yes ma'am, I had an accident. This beautiful lady took care of me."

Ms. Tabi smiled. Gracie blushed, looking down at the chipped table.

"He's a good one."

Gracie nodded, her face turning redder by the second. Jin smiled at her. Although she didn't look like his comatose memories described, her blushing made his heart skip a beat.

Tabi took their order, patting Gracie on the shoulder with a reassuring smile. Jin was right she really is a sweet lady.

They sat quietly for a while, sipping their coffee, not looking at each other. Or at least Gracie wasn't looking at Jin.

Jin however was taking in every inch of her to commit it to memory. He wanted no confusion.

As if there could be any now.

Gracie fidgeted with her hands underneath the table. She wasn't walking around so talking seemed to be much harder now. She could feel his eyes on her and that made her cheeks burn. Why must he stare so long?

"Is there something on my face?" Her voice was timid when she spoke.

"I'm just trying to memorize every part of you." Jin replied.

"Why?"

"So to clear up some of the fog left behind."

"Oh..."

"Have you ever thought about painting again?" Jin asked curiously. Gracie looked up at him. His eyes smiled back at her.

"I don't know. I try not to because of my sister."

"Why?"

"I didn't want to steal the spotlight from her..."

Jin frowned. Why would her paintings do that?

"My sister could do anything. She just always wanted to do what I did. I love—er loved painting. But after my dad I put my paints away. Went on to be a nurse instead of trying to fight my sister."

"So you gave up something you loved, for more than one person?"

"I guess you could say that."

Jin sipped his coffee in deep thought. She was selfless. Would do anything for the happiness and well being of others. She was perfect in every sense of the word. How could he be the one she loves?

"Could I see some of your work?"

Gracie stared at him for a moment.

"I don't have any pictures. They are all locked away in my attic."

"Oh..."

Tabi came over with their food. Gracie had a stack of pancakes and Jin an omelette. They were quiet once more while they ate. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence. Some time later, Gracie sighed after going over everything in her head and blurted out.

"Do you want to come over?"

Jin's eyes grew wide at her sudden outburst.

"Sure."

"I mean to see my artwork. I uh—yea." Her face turned a slight shade of pink. She's so cute when she gets flustered.

"What other reason would there be?" He teased, watching her face turn a shade darker.

"Jin."

He simply smiled taking another bite of his omelette.

For once in the months since he had woken up he felt happy.
