Since the night of the formal the Gilmore house has not been the same as Lorelai and Rory are rocky at the moment leaving Tina the odd one out in the middle.

"I wish you'd change your mind." comments Rory

"Yeah mum I need you to help me though this, that party is going to be hell" begs Tina the thought of facing that party without her mother's charm was enough to send her packing.

"It's not my mind that needs to be changed."

"I don't think she meant it." mentions Rory regarding her mother's sudden uninviting to the Gilmore's Christmas party.

"Oh she meant it."

"Well maybe she thinks she meant it at the time, but I bet she won't mean it later when we show up there without you." suggest Tina hinting for her mum to come

"And without a map to follow that reasoning I say, 'Take a hot it's cold outside'."

"You just wanna hold a grudge." adds Rory

"Yes, it burns more calories." jokes her mother while Tina just laughs

"That's not true."

"Yes it is, how do you think your grandma got those legs of hers? She's not exactly a Stairmaster gal."

"Mom." Defends Rory

"Rory it's so true" states Tina smiling at the two

"Never saw her on the running track." mentions their mum

"Ok."

" I don't remember the country club organizing a Tae-bo class."

"You are unbelievable mum" comments Tina as she starts looking around for her shoe which is hiding under the coach.

"Fine, forget it. Should I put your name on Grandma's present?" questions Rory picking up the card

"Yes, sign it the inn keeper formally known as her daughter." while Tina is searching for her shoe under the coach she finally grabs it "Yes I found you baby" putting the shoe on her foot.

"You know what I think?" an annoyed Rory asks

"What?"

"I think you're acting a little immature way more then Tina is and she's Tina"

"That's not nice" shouts Tina even thou she knows it's true

"I'm not acting and I am nowhere near Tina's level" snaps back her mum

"What is this gang up on Tina day you too are being so nasty tonight" an offended Tina adds

"Well what about the apple tarts? You wait all year for those apple tarts." mentions Rory in her last plea

"I can live without the apple tarts." states their mother

"Well since your being so mean to me I'm going to eat all of the apple tarts for you" smirks Tina

"You've made up songs after eating five of them with lyrics that contradict that last statement." adds Rory

"Oh you know what you enjoy them I don't even care, You have to go, you're late." as the girls head to the door

"You really won't come?" the girls ask

" What, I'm sorry, is somebody speaking? Couldn't be Rory, she's already half way to Hartford and Tina she is too busy eating all the apple tarts"

"Fine, We're going." as the grab their coats

"Drive carefully. Watch out for ice. And bring me back one of those" as the door closes "tarts!"

After a quiet car ride to their grandparents the girls make their way to the door, Rory ringing the doorbell. "Hi Grandma." greets the girls.

"Rory, come in. You look lovely" comments their grandmother before turning to Tina "You look beautiful as always Tina" earning smiles from both girls.

"This is from me, Tina and mom." mentions Rory as Tina hands Rory the gift.

"Well aren't you thoughtful? I'll just put it under the tree." coolly speaks Emily but giving a small smile to Tina showing that she wasn't angry or mad towards her.

"You know mom actually picked it out." comments Tina as she takes off her coat, then catching up to Rory and her grandmother.

"Rory and Tina, do you know Holland Prescott?"

"I met her last year." answers Rory

"I can't remember, maybe" smiles Tina

"Holland, look who's here."

"Hello Rory and who is this young Lady" indicating to Tina

"This is my other granddaughter Tina" placing a hand of her shoulder

"My my doesn't she take after Christopher" comments Mrs. Prescott

"Yes she dose" finishes her grandmother while Tina looks around and notices her grandfather in a conversation with his group of friends.

"That's not my proposal."

"Yes, I know. Henry toned it down a little."

"Henry did! Henry is a toddler!"

"He thought your take was a little conservative."

"And a moron!"

"Richard, be very careful. This man may be our boss one day." one her her grandfathers co workers states.

"Oh that will never happen."

"Alright."

"Why have you heard something?" asks her grandfather

"Richard, Alan, look who's here." calls her grandmother

"Hello Rory and Tina"

"Hi."

"Where's your mother?" One of her grandfathers friends questions the two.

"Oh, well, she..." mumbles Rory not sure what to say where Tina stays quiet not sure what to say either

"Over by the apple tarts I assume." suggests the man, making Tina smile her mum's love for the apple tarts was well known

"Lorelai couldn't come tonight." finishes their grandmother for the girls

"She couldn't?" ponders her grandfather

"No, she had to work." before turning to the girls giving them a look like back me up on this to which the Tina agree's too giving a nod of the head back.

"Ah. Speaking of which, I'm going to give that man a call." says her grandfather breaking the silence "

"Richard, you're getting yourself all worked up." his friends warns

"As long as I've been with this company, it has been run by gentleman. Revising a man's work without so much as a phone call would've been unheard of!" snaps her grandfather making Tina realise how committed he is to his business.

"It's a new world out there Richard."

"Oh!"

Getting feed up with the conversation and seeing that the girls looked bored and confused with the conversation their grandmother jumps in "Please stop all this shop talk. We are here to celebrate."

"I'm going to call him." states Richard ignoring his wife's warning

"Richard, it's past midnight in London."

"Oh, even better." as Emily guides the girls away to talk to other guests

"Grandma, could I talk to you alone please." wonders Rory

"You need something to drink." ignoring the conversation that Rory was trying to bring up then turning to Tina "I would like you to meet Gigi tonight"

"I want to apologize about the other night." buts in Rory who really really just wants to explain that Dean is an amazing guy and that nothing happened between the two.

"Rory please, this is a party, come on I want Tina to meet Gigi" suggest their grandmother guiding them thou the house

"I messed up, it's my fault."

"This is not the time or place to discuss this, your mother should have taught you that, she seems to have taught Tina that" suddenly making Tina feeling really uncomfortable being in the middle of their fight.

"Please don't be mad at her and Tina has nothing to do with this" pleads Rory while Tina spots a group of women in the chairs sitting around drinking.

"I'm not mad at anyone. Now go back in and join the party." as she starts making a drink

"But -" snaps Rory

"And take this to Gigi on your way back" handing Rory a glass and guiding the two over to the women introducing Rory and Tina to them.

Later on at that dinner table everyone is seated at the table "Emily, you've out done yourself yet again."

"Yes, I can't imagine the hours you spent slaving over a hot stove." chuckles one of her grandfathers friends

"You're teasing me, Alan." dismisses her grandmother even thou she knows it's amazing she is Emily Gilmore after all.

"It's delicious Emily."

"Yeah Grandmother, I feel like we're at a 5 star restaurant

"A compliment for my chef is a compliment for me, thank you Alan and Tina thank you as well" earning smiles around the table.

"I for one would like to know where Henry is at this hour. Probably gallivanting around London like a bull out to stud." starts her Grandfather about some business talk

"Richard please." interrupts Emily wanting the conversation to change

"Well how is he supposed to negotiate the contract tomorrow morning if he's been out at all hours with some cheap tramp."

"Knowing Henry, she wasn't cheap."

"This is wildly inappropriate dinner conversation especially in front young ladies." pleads her Grandmother

"Is it unbearably hot in here?" asks her Grandfather

"I don't think so maybe your food was just hot" suggests Tina, Rory nodding along as well

"Richard don't loosen your tie at the table." scolds her Grandmother as their grandfather trys to loosen the tie.

"So what are your plans for the Christmas holidays Rory and Tina?" questions one of their grandmothers friends

"Hanging out with my friends and maybe an internship with a Law Firm" answers Tina

"I'll probably just be hanging out with my mom." answers Rory as well her answer not as fun as Tina but anyway

" Oh it's such a shame she couldn't come, she's always such a kick and Tina that sounds wonderful, such a nice thing to see a young lady with class those days" causing Tina to blush under the complement while Rory sinks deeper into her chair wondering if Emily told her friends about what happened or if they where just giving Tina acomplement. "And where is Lorelai"

"Lorelai wasn't feeling well so I suggested she stay home." smiles their Grandmother

"It is hot in here, I'm going to lower the thermostat" questions her grandfather as he gets up from the table

"Poor thing, what's wrong with her?" wonders one of Emily's friends

"She has a touch of the flu. Richard forget the thermostat!"

"I thought you said she was working?" another friends adds, making Tina think that maybe they did have more brains then she thought.

"Well she was supposed to work but then she caught the flu so one way or another she couldn't have made it." finishes their Grandmother rising her voice a bit higher then normal

"Tell her we missed her." wishes one of the friends aimed at the girls

"I will."

"Of course"

"Richard! For heaven sake" Snaps their Grandmother getting up to find him, "Richard" shouts their grandmother.

After finding their Grandfather passed out in the kitchen he was taken to hospital while her grandmother and Rory talked to the nurses Tina ring her mum again. Hearing the phone go to the message bank Tina leaves her message.

"Hey mum, I know that I have left a couple of messages but as soon as you get this, head to the hospital we really need you, grandma is having a almost mental break down. We need you just please please come."

After walking around the hallways for a bit Tina sees Luke and Rory sitting down together talking then her mum walking around the corner "Mum!" both girls yell

"Hey, you! Hi." greets the two bring them into a group hug

"It was horrible! It happened so fast." mumbles Rory

"He kept asking if it was hot in the room but I just thought it was the food" rants Tina who feels really bad that she didn't pick up any signs

"They're about to bring him out of the big test room any minute so just hang in there." smiles Lorelai trying to calm the girls down

"Where's Grandma?" questions Rory while Tina is stilling hugging her mum

"Kicking some patient out of the room with the good view." mentions Lorelai making Tina laugh and wonder if it is true or a joke cause it could be either knowing Emily Gilmore

"Really?"

"I hope they get him unhooked fast, otherwise he's going without the life support machine." jokes their mum making the girls feel better

"So how long before they bring him back?" wonders Tina

"Very soon."

"I'd like to do something?" states Rory

"Like rollerblade?" jabs Lorelai

'Like get some coffee or make phone calls or do something that isn't standing here waiting."

"Coffee would be good" speaks up Tina

"Ok, go it. Well as partial as I am to the phone, I'm voting for the 'get coffee' idea"

"Ok, good. Luke tea?" asks Rory turning to Luke

"Ah, peppermint preferably."

"We will be right back." finishes Tina as she grabs Rory's hand to go

"He's going to be fine girls.Now go get your coffee both of you" tells their mother as the two walk down the hall to fins somewhere.

After finally finding a coffee machine but then having it be out of order Rory and Tina made it back just in time to see their Grandfather in his room

" Year end optimism in recent earnings reports, have pushed shares of the telecommunications giant about $65" reads Rory while Tina is flicking though magazines on the other side of the bed

"Oh, rubbish." frowns Richard

"However, some experts say that the stock is dangerously overvalued." continues Rory

"Ahh. Hmm."

Looking up from her magazine Tina joins the conversation "You know grandpa, you should try more colorful suits they are proven to improve moods while working"

Looking over Tina's see's her grandmother walking into the room "Well how are we doing?"

"We're done the front page of the Financial Times and all of The Wall Street Journal." smiles Rory

"Very good progress. Rory and Tina , why don't you save the rest of the paper till later hmm?"

"Ok." answers Rory before turning to their Grandpa "If I hug you, is it gonna hurt?"

"Pain is part of life" answers Richard causing both girls to hug him before they leave the room

"Where's mom?" wonders Tina after the two have left the room

"Looking for coffee." answers Luke

"What are you doing?"

"Staring at my shoes." frowns Luke

"Ok, carry on." grins Tina

After visiting their Grandfather again the girls leave the room to see their mum and Tina talking

"He's gonna be fine." states Rory answer the question before they can even ask

" Yeah, yeah. I think it was those financial papers that really did the trick." causing the girls to giggle "So, um, Luke's gonna take you two home ok, I'm gonna hang out here for a while."

"I'll stay too." answers Rory while Tina yarns shaking her head yes

"No, go, call Dean and Tina can go to bed or call Matt. Talk mushy to each other and then spend an hour arguing over who's going to hang up first." jokes their mum while Tina peeks up at the mention of Matt

"You are gross." grins Rory while Tina laughs knowing full well that that's what would happen.

"I'll call you later." kissing both girls on the check

"Ok, well tell him good bye for me. And tell Grandpa I'll come back tomorrow." speaks Rory

"Same for me" answers Tina

"Ok, I will, bye."

"Bye."

"Bye"

"Ok, walk fast and look straight ahead." states Luke as the girls head home for the night.

I'm so sorry this took so long, I have been sick and are in exam block at the moment
