"Shopping for school supplies" said a smiling Lorelai Gilmore as she walks arm in arm with her youngest daughter Tina towards the stationary shop walking just behind her other daughter Rory "party."

"Nobody demanded that you come" came the reply from Rory as she smiled happy at her mum and sister, the stationary shop was like heaven to Rory.

"Are you kidding? How of ten do you get to do things like this? I was thinking, while we're going crazy, we should get some toilet paper and a plunger next."

"Yeah we need her you know how distracting pink sparkly things are for me" earning a fake comforting look from her mum while Rory just shook her head.

"I'll just do this later." frowned Rory while looking back down at her list.

"No Rory I have things to do later and it will be easy to do now" pleated Tina using puppy dog eyes.

"No, I'm teasing. Come on, get that list of yours." smirks Lorehai

"We need legal pads, tons of pens actually make it millions Tina loses so many pens" earning a look of mock hurt look from her sister "It's not my fault they leave me for happier home"

Shaking her head Rory continues with her list "some number 2 pencils, three highlights, an eraser a staple remover and a folder" While her mum and Rory talk about if 3 highlights are needed Tina finds the most perfect pens she has ever seen in her life. Grabbing 5 sparkly pens each with feather pom pom things on top and makes her way over to the legal pad selection

"Alright. Ooh, hey, legal pads." perking Tina interest as she see's purple paper that will go perfect with her new pens. "Oh, purple for me please"

"No. Those are purple."

"Yes, purple is festive." gaining a high five from Tina as she grabs some purple legal pads and places them into her basket.

"I can't have purple"

"Yes we can" stated Tina

"they're on sale." then looking to Tina "and that's why your my favorite child"

"I'm going to a serious school now, I need serious paper and I know I can't change Tina's mind but this is serious"

"Paper's paper if your sister has it you can have it"

"Not at Chilton and Tina is the kind of girl that can get way with purple paper I can't"

Finally giving in Lorelai adds the plain legal pads to the basket"Alright, fine. Here is your serious paper, Ooh and here are you somber highlighters, your maudlin pencils, your manic-depressive pens."

"Mom"

"Now these erasers are on lithium so they may seem cheerful but we actually caught them trying to shove themselves in the pencil sharpener earlier."

Looking at the other two Gilmore's Rory gives in "I'm going home now."

"No wait!" Tina yells at Rory as she starts walking away.

" We're going to stage an intervention with the neon post-its and make them give up their wacky crazy ways." adds her mother as she starts chasing after Rory

"You're never coming shopping with me again."

"Ooh here's a card tray"

"Oh look they have matching sparkly pencils mum" adds an excited Tina, who knew school supply shopping could be so fun.

Sitting in Mr Medina's class wasn't the greatest thing to do with your time but over all it wasn't that bad and Tina got to see Matt in this class as well as Madeline and Louise. "Decent effort by most" Mr Medina tells to the class as he starts handing back tests making Tina feel nervous.

Good effort by some, exceptional effort by four. Miss Geller, Miss Gilmore, Miss Grant, Mr Rothschild. Ms. Graham. Miss Gilmore" as Tina looks down at her paper seeing a A- she lets out a small squeal causing some people to look at her strangely while Tina hears a deep chuckle coming from the seat next to her, looking over she is meet with Matt looking at her.

"Good job on your paper"

"Thanks" Tina answers while trying not to blush but failing miserably, saving her from embarrassment Mr Medina continues speaking.

"Take these home, learn from your mistakes. Look at the large red circles around various parts of your paper as friendly reminders that to err is human. And that here at Chilton we try to beat that humanity right outta ya!" Tina is so wrapped up in thinking about Matt's smile that she doesn't noticed her sisters worried looks or the fact that she got a D.

"Ok, next up. The test - the dreaded test. Shakespeare! The man we've been droning on about for the last three weeks, finally comes back to haunt us on Friday. This is a big one my friends - multiple choice with an essay section that will count for 20% of your grade for this semester. And don't be fooled by my kind face and charming personality. This test will be hard, and there will be no makeups." finishing just as the bell rings then continuing.

"Refer to the study materials that I gave you at the beginning of the month and those extensive notes I know you've been taking." Gathering up her stuff Tina stands next to Madeline waiting for her friends to leave the classroom.

"Hard paper." states Paris getting a nod from Tina.

"Killer."

"How'd you do?" asked Paris addressing Tina and Louise

"'A'"

"A-" Tina answers unaware that Rory is listening

"Oh small world."

"Isn't it? Madeline what'd you get?"

"You know I got a 'B'" answers Madeline

"A 'B's not bad." replies Paris. Seeing Matt out in the Hallway brings a smile to Tina's face but when he turns around and smile's back she makes up her mind and walks over to him. "Bye girls I will meet you later" as she walked out into the Hallway

"Hi" greeted Matt as he leaned against the lockers.

"Hi, how did you go in English" asked Tina actually curious if he is just a pretty face.

"A, what about you, you seemed excited" sending Tina into a deeper blush

"Oh I got an A-, I'm surprised I totally thought I would fail" earning a laugh from Matt. Seeing her friends waiting for her ahead in the hallway she waves goodbye to Matt earning a wave in return before meeting up with her friends.

Entering the Inn's kitchen both twins were carrying way too many bags.

"Chocolate?" asked Rory still in a bad mood from her D that she is yet to tell her sister about yet as Paris has already rubbed in her face that she is the dumb twin as Tina got an A-.

"Glass measuring cup. Lorelai look, look" Sookie answers as the girls both drop all there bags to the floor. Tina digs though the kitchen looking for gummy bears, while her mum and Sookie continue talking. Tina's head snaps up at the mention of the test on Friday, reminding Tina to ask her mum if she could study at Louise the night before.

"Hey mum, as you know we have the test on Friday can I study with Louise, Madeline and Paris at Louise house she only lives 5 minutes from school and her mum's going to be their" Tina asks her mum with pleading eyes hoping that her mum would say yes.

"Umm, If you really want to, you can stay and study on Thursday but you have to call me at lest once to check in." her mother replied, letting out a happy squeal and run out of the kitchen to call her friends. In her excitement Tina missed the worried look Rory sent her as Rory hoped that Tina would study with her and bring her up to starch.

At Luke's Rory's is sitting at a table with Tina as she tries to write but the tip of her pencil breaks causing Rory to throws the pencil in frustration, as Tina picks it up from the floor not knowing why Rory is so stressed out.

"What's that?" asked Rory as two pie's are placed on the table on for each twin.

"You look like you need pie." Getting a thankful look from Tina

"I do?"

"Oh you so needed that pie"

"Violent pencil tossing usually signals the need for pie." adds Luke getting a "Amen" from Tina just as their mother enters looking fancier then normal.

"Hey, Backwards baseball hat - new look for you." While looking at the girls "They eating pie? Did they even have dinner?"

"You raised them not me" comments Luke as Lorehai joins the girls at the table.

"Oh hello, bookworm and her funky sister"

"Finally, where were you?" asks Rory looking at her mum.

"Well, um, actually I was in Hartford."

Looking at her mum strangely Tina asks "Why?"

"I was there for the..." states their mum as they both look at each other remembering about the parent teacher interview.

"Parent/teacher meeting. Oh, my God. I forgot." says Rory

"It went very well. I was extremely charming. I won the whole crowd over. They made me queen."

"So I guess you talked to Mr. Medina." looking between the two twins knowing that one did fantastic and the other not so much, being careful with her next choice of words.

"Mm-hm. Why did you let me whine about ice cream and shoe sales when you had something major going on?" she asks looking at Rory and then looking too Tina "And you why didn't you tell me about how good you went" earning sorry look from Tina and a "I know." from Rory.

"I hate when I'm an idiot and I don't even know it. I like to be aware of my idiocy - to really revel in it, take pictures. I feel we missed a prime Christmas card opportunity." said her mother. Looking between the two. Tina thinks that maybe it is best if she leaves them to talk in peace. Standing up getting questioning looks from both she answers "Umm I have stuff to do at home i will catch you both later."

"Ok bye Hun" her mum replied with a thankful look.

After staying at Louise's house the night before proved to be very helpful as Tina felt ready for the test, the four girls arrived at Chilton right on time. Looking around Tina couldn't seem to find Rory which is worrying her but she needs to do this test. Finishing the test early Tina looks around to see Paris finished as well giving each other the thumbs up. She looks back around to see that Rory's not even here. Looking back down at her paper Tina here's the door open and her breathless sister is standing there.

"I'm sorry." her sister called out still disheveled from her mornings rush.

"Everyone back to your tests. Miss Gilmore you're gonna have to wait in the library." ordered Mr Medina but no one turned back around.

"But what about the test?" Rory asked panic set in her voice making Tina just want to give her a hug.

"I'm afraid you've missed the test."

"No." as her eyes widened with panic

"We start class promptly at 8:05"

"No." Rory still can't believe this is happening to her after all her mum and Rory had been though the night before.

"That's when I need people to be in their seats." Mr Medina added with a sigh feeling guilty..

"Please." she begged looking like she would get down on her knee's and beg.

"I'm sorry but it's the rules."

"But you don't understand!" Rory starts yelling "I was up all night studying and then I missed my bus so I had to drive--"

"Let's discuss this outside." As he tries to move Rory outside away from watching eyes.

"So I'm driving down this road and I stop and I get hit by a deer." making Tina give her a confused look like who get's hit by a deer Rory freaking Gilmore.

"You hit a deer?"

"No I got hit by a deer. You don't believe me? I've got antler prints on the side of my mother's car."

"Rory, come on." As he tried again to usher her to the door.

"No!" Rory practically push him away "You have to let me take this test. I'm ready for this test. I know everything there is to know about Shakespeare."

"Ok, ok, you have to calm down now."

"I know his birthday and his mothers name and that kind of -" ranted Rory but stopped half way when she saw Paris whisper to Louise "Loser" before redirecting her rant to Paris "And just what is wrong with you huh?! You already have everything! You already have the grades and the status. What the hell is wrong with you that you have this constant need to be the biggest jerk in the entire world?!"

"Rory calm down your acting crazy" adds Tina trying to calm her down cause this isn't like Rory

"And you" Rory turning to her sister "Everything comes so easly to you, new schools, classwork and friends it's not fair, maybe if you have stayed home I wouldn't be here but instead doing the test" yells a bitter Rory but instantly regrets it once she saw the tears in her sister eyes.

"Well if that's how you feel" Tina says while picking up her stuff to leave with tears threatening to fall in her eyes, she moves to leave the room when a hand grabs her arm pulling her back she meets the sympathetic face of Matt "don't go Tina just calm down first" before he can say anything else Tina wipes the tears from her eyes "I just need to get out of hear" understanding Matt let's go of her arm leaving Tina free to walk out the door. Not before Mr Medina stops her "Miss Gilmore you need to finish your test"

"I'm already finished" says Tina before pushing past him to head to the nearest bath rooms.

After crying in the bathrooms for a good 10 minutes Tina fixes her hair and makeup making it look like she wasn't really crying before grabbing her bag and walking outside to one of the benches. Closing her eyes Tina starts to think if this was her fault that if she had stayed home with Rory would she have been late as well, opening her eyes when she feels someone sitting down next to her looking up she is meet with Matt's face giving her a warm smile that she trys to return. "Hi, what are you doing out here" questions Tina generally curious as to why Matt is here.

"I wanted to see if you were ok after what happened in class that was very uncalled for you were just trying to help her"

"She was right I have so wrapped up in my own world that I forgot about her I have made new friends but I left her behind and I fell awful, god I was so wrapped up in your smile that I didn't even realize that she had gotten a D I'm the worst sister ever" whispers a tearful Tina as Matt wraps his arm around her comfortingly before remembering that she had just told her crush that she got wrapped up in his smile. "I wasn't meant to tell you that know you probably think that I'm some creepy fan girl" mumbled Tina expecting Matt to walk away totally creepy out.

Inside earning a laugh that was like music to Tina ears "Well I think your smile is beautiful does that make be a creepy fan boy" earning a shake of the head and a bright smile.

"Tina" she hears someone call and she looks around to see her mum waving for her to come over probably their to take the girls home as Rory was already waiting in the jeep.

Turning back to Matt "That's my mum I have to go but thank you, you have made me feel a lot better" a smiling Tina states while picking up her bag from the ground.

Before she could leaving Matt turns to her asking "Can I have your number I would like to call sometime" as Tina face blushes as she digs though her bag for a pen and paper finally finding the purple paper and pink pens, writing her number she turns around handing it to him before walking over to the awaiting jeep.

Sitting in the jeep was just awkward for Tina, her and Rory were both upset still not over what had happened in the classroom."Quite a day girls?" questioned their mother already knowing about the fight that had happened between the two girls and that Rory was still bitter over not being able to take the test.

"I don't wanna talk - please." frowned Rory while Tina just looked out the window knowing that the only thing that would make it better is if Rory said sorry.

"You know, I just think that we should talk about it." gaining a shake of the head from Tina.

"Stop the car." ordered Rory

"What?"

"Here - stop here." yells Rory as she jumps out of the jeep

"You're just feeling like an impromptu nature walk? yells an annoyed Tina choosing not to look for the deer but to stay sulking in the back of the jeep. After a while her mum and sister return and by the looks of it like they have cleared the air between the two. Giving Rory a go on look Rory turns to face her sister. "Umm Tina I'm sorry about what I said to you, I was out of line and jealous"

Looking at her sister for any signs of her lying Tina gives in "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you feel bad it's just that we have always had different friends and didn't hang out at school  I thought that it would be the same at Chilton and I'm sorry I didn't help you study for the test but if you had told be your grade I would have helped you" replied Tina

"I was just so embarrassed about my grade and you are right we do have different school life's and I just felt so out of my depth that I suck to the only think I knew, which was you so I'm sorry I love you Tina" as both girls smiled the fighting ending.

Once inside Lorehai yells to the girls "Go get those plaid skirts off and grab your books, we're going to Luke's."

"Don't you have to get back to work?" shouts back Tina

"Ah, they can last a little while longer without me. Plus Michel gets so cute when he feels like he's been overworked. His ears puff out, his nostrils flare, big fun. Go."

"I'm gone." states Rory as she runs out of the room, while Tina runs up the stairs to her room just as the phone rings as the machine picked up the message as Lorehai's voice fills the space. "It's us, we're not here. We have a life, get over it."

"Hi this is a message for Rory and Christina. It's Max Medina calling. I just wanted to say that I talked to Headmaster Charleston or 'il duce' as he's more affectionately know at the Gilmore household, and he's agreed to let you do some extra credit work to help make up for the missed test today. Now I'm not sure what the extra credit work is yet, but it probably will be time consuming and extremely painful. It will however get you back up to where you rightfully belong Rory, don't lose heart. Make this work. Christina good job on the test and maybe next time we will stay for the set amount of time. And if you're mother is listening, Lorelai it was a pleasure encountering you. I hope it happens again. Anyways, see you in class. Bye." as the machine finishes the message.
