On Sunday night the 3 Gilmore's were all sitting on the front porch as Lorelai is halfway though painting Rory's toes as Tina is squirting whipped cream into her mouth while admiring her freshly painted shiny red nails as they dry. "Hey Tina, hurry up and pass me the cream" Rory asked in an annoyed voice as her mother begins painting her second toe. "Yeah, yeah here you go" replied Tina as she handed the cream to her elder sister, who grabs the cream and doing the same thing with the cream as Tina had just. "That's nice." smirked their mother as she contiued to paint Rory's nails.

"Thank you.""Don't move, please.""So, why are you insisting on doing this?""Well, because we are starting private school tomorrow we need to look and feel our best" sassed back Tina after just reading those exact words in a magazine she just finished.Rolling her eyes at her fashion and beauty obsessed twin "Yes, but were going to be wearing shoes. Nobody's gonna see our feet.""Okay, but everybody knows that private school girls are bad, and bad girls always wear red nail polish.""Yeah Rory why do you think a wear red" spoke Tina as she winked playfully at her mum and Rory.

"Are you nervous?" asked Lorehai wonder how the girls were truly feeling

"About what?"

"About starting Chilton."

"No not really maybe about finding new friends but overall I'm excited" spoke Tina with a smile on her face

"Well, I wasn't until I heard about all those bad girls." replies Rory just as Lane runs into the screaming about her new CD "Guys, guys! New CD - XTC, Apple Venus Volume 2."

"Oh, woo, nails done!" as Lorelai grabs Tina hand as they run inside leaving Rory alone on the porch. Tina hears her sister call out "But you only finished half my toes!" but Tina doesn't hear her answer as Lane new CD is already blasting though the house.

Waking up to her cheap bunny shaped alarm clock at 6:15 would not be how Tina Gilmore would have liked to start her days, but pain is beauty and she was not going to show up to her first day at Chilton not looking her best. Finally getting out of bed Tina stumpled around till she reached her chipped mint green wardrobe looking around till she found her new uniform. Looking at her reflection in minor checking that her hair and makeup was as near to perfect as she could get, when she heard her twin sister yelling from downstairs that it was time to go. Grabbing her new school bag and double checking she had everything Tina left her room to find her mum leaving hers as well. Doing a double take that her mum really was wearing shorts and a pink tie dye shirt she was about to ask when her mum give her a look that said don't even ask so with a shake of her head Tina run down the stairs meeting Rory in the living room who had just now notice their mothers interesting choice in clothing for the day. "It's 7--" yells a stressed Rory

"Don't even think of finishing that sentence!" states Lorehai while Rory looks to her twin for explanation on what their mother is wearing only getting a shrug of the shoulder from Tina as she too was wondering what the hell their mother was thinking this morning. "What?"

"Nothing. I just didn't know the rodeo was in town." asks Rory earning a laugh and high five from Tina.

"All right, that's it." says Lorehai as she grabs the baby photo's of the girls from the desk "I'm bringing the baby pictures."

Sharing a look of dread the twins both reply in unison"No! were sorry! We love the rodeo, the rodeo rules!" as the girls run out to the jeep.

Arriving at Chilton the girls were greeted with the very large and wealthy looking school that looks like it came straight from a movie, "I remember it being smaller."

"yeah me too" adds Tina suddenly feeling butterfly's in her stomach.

" Yeah. And less. . ."

"Off with their heads."

"Yeah" finished Tina as all 3 Gilmore's tilted their heads to peer up at the building all feeling overwhelmed.

"What are you looking at?"

"I'm just trying to see if there's a hunchback up in that bell tower."

"Are their any crows their a sign of evil" as well the girls look for any signs of birds following Tina's statement. "So, how do I look?" asks Rory to their mother as Tina moves forward from the back to check her lipstick in the mirror.

"You look great." as Lorehai smiles proudly at the two girls

"Really?"

"Really. You are both amazing kids. You have earned this. You just go in there and show them what smart really is. I love you both. Just call me if you need me."You're kidding, right?" Tina asks looking at her mother nervousness clearly written all over her face."No. Call me if you need anything. I'm great at making up dirty cheers." earning a eye roll from both Gilmore's "You have to go in with us." says Rory as if it's the most serious thing ever and getting a nod of the head from Tina"Rory, Tina, come on." pleads Lorehai as she knows how embarrassing this outfit is.

"You have to meet the headmaster."

"Well, look at me both of you. I can't meet anybody who does anything in there." she said stiffly"Mom!, please you have two, this is our first day we need you, please" added Tina in a begging tone.

"No, I look like that chick from the Dukes of Hazards."

"This is our first day. You are not getting out of this you going in there with us. Period." as both girls grab their bags and wait for their mum to finally get out, making their way to the headmasters office also avoiding the looks their mother is getting for her outfit.

After an awkward flirting encounter between her mother and another Chilton parent and finally finding the headmaster office the Gilmore's finally make it to the office. "Um, excuse me." asks their mother after getting no answer clears her throat causing the lady to look up scaring Rory and causing Tina and Lorehai to jump back in fight. "Oh! How. . .wow, hi. I'm Lorelai Gilmore. Those's are my daughters, Lorelai and Christina Gilmore. . .'cause I named her after me and this one after her father. I was in the hospital all whacked out on Demerol. Never mind. Um, but we call her Rory and she goes by either her full name or Tina. It's short for Lorelai and Christina, but they will answer to either one, or even 'Hey, you' depending on the. . . Uh, is the headmaster here?"

"One moment" speaks the secretary leaving through a door behind them leaving the 3 girls in silence until their mother whispers "See, that's what happens when you go to bed with your makeup on" earning a "Amen sister" from Tina. A moment later, the door opens revievling the secretary again "Headmaster Charleston will see you now."

"Great, great. Thanks." leaving the Gilmore's to walk into the headmasters office.

"Ms. Gilmore, I'm Headmaster Charleston." speaks a vocie in the room that Tina thinks is the headmaster but soon looks to the other side of the room to find her grandmother sitting on the sofa looking as gracefully and high class as ever. "Hi. Wow, it's really nice to meet. . . Mom. Um, excuse me. What are you doing here?""I came to wish my granddaughters luck on their first day of school." answers Emily as she place a hand on each girls shoulder, still recovering from the shock of her mother being at the girls school all she can manage to say is "But -" before her mother cuts her off."Rory, you look wonderful in that uniform! and you Tina you look adorable"making Tina smile at the compliment as all her hard work this morning on her appearance payed off."Uh, you didn't have to come all the way out here, Mom.""Well, this gave me a chance to make sure that Hanlin here takes good care of Rory and Tina." "You're Hanlin." Asks her mother meaning that Tina's guess before that he was the headmaster was correct. "Hanlin Charleston."

"Hanlin's wife and I are on the symphony fundraising committee together." leaving Tina to wonder what the hell symphony fundraising committee is.

"Wow, that's great." adds her mum with a tight smile overously not trilled at where this conversation is going.

"Your father and I are golf rivals. We're still fighting it out to see which one is worse."

"Oh, yes. We're all old friends." leaving Tina to wonder how old her grandparents really were as she had never asked before.

"Well, there's nothing like friends. Especially if they're old. . .ones."

"Well, would you like to take off your coat and have a seat?" making both twins look at their mother in panic this was not going to end well.

"Oh, no. No, I'm fine."

"I'm afraid they were a little overzealous with the furnace this morning. It's quite warm in here."

"I like it warm." answered Lorehai just wanting the conversation move forward.

" Lorelai, take off your coat and sit down. You don't want Hanlin to think you're rude." Replied their grandmother looking like she wanted to rip the dam coat right off Lorehai herself.

As their mum reluctantly takes off the coat. She gives an embarrassed smile and answered "Laundry day." causing Tina to face palm, like could this day get any worse.

"Hanlin, did you know that Rory and Tina both have a 4.0 grade average?" adds quickly to take the attention off hr daughter ridiculous wardrobe choice for which Tina and Rory are both very thankful for.

"I'm sure he does, Mom."

"They are both very special girls. You take good care of them both." causing Rory to look around a bit embarrassed and leaving a smiling Tina feeling very proud of herself."We'll do our best, Emily" as the girls take a seat in the old leather chairs making Tina think if anyone else as had a worse introduction to Chilton then them."Oh, God. Rory and Tina are not gonna be a problem. Rory is totally low maintenance, you know, like a Honda and Tina is like a BMW classy but still low maintenance. You know, they're just easy, just. . . nice office." causing Tina to face palm for the second time like who compares their children to cars Lorelai freaking Gilmore that's who."Well, I don't think we should take up anymore of your precious time. Hanlin, it was lovely to see you. Give Bitty our love." "Tell Richard I'll see him at the club Sunday""Have a wonderful day, Rory and Tina I want to hear all about it. Do you need a ride or is your horse parked outside?" finishes their grandmother leaving Tina to cover her mouth to stop laughing who knew that Emily Gilmore was funny differently not Tina."It's so nice to meet you."

"Have a great day." as she kisses both girls foreheads then moving to leave.

"Oh, you don't want to forget your coat." adds the Headmaster"Oh, no, 'cause that would be embarrassing." as she takes her coat and gives a final wave to the girls before leaving the office leaving the twins alone with the headmaster for the first time.

"Your turn Tina" Rory tells her sister as she steps out of the headmasters office wishing her good luck as Tina enters the office smiling polity at the headmaster before dumping her bag next to her chair on the floor. "You're obviously a bright girl, Miss. Gilmore." looking up from a folder that Tina thinks must be her transcripts.

"Thank you." she replied nicely with a smile still on her face

"Good grades, the teachers like you. and a few social activities like the Latin club, drama club and on the yearbook committee."

"What are your aspirations? to go to Harvard and study Journalism and Political Science like your sister "

"I will like to study Law but not at Harvard as much as it is a great school I would rather attend Princeton or Yale." answered as much as she would hate being apart from her sister Harvard didn't suit her and she was ok with that.

"On your way to being. . ."

"A judge" Tina always wanted to have a Gavel after watching Judge Judy one time that lead to her interest in Law.

"Really?" the headmaster questioned seriously thinking she would do something fashion or makeup related but while that would be fun those were just side interests.

"Yes." answered back polity but just wanting this meeting to be over.

"I've known your grandparents for quite some time."

"That's good they are great people""In fact, I was at a party at their house just last week where I had the most delicious lobster puffs I've ever eaten. I'm very fond of them."

"That's nice i personally love the bread sticks they are the best."

"None of this, however, will be of any benefit to you. Chilton has one of the highest academic standards of any school in America. You and your sister may have been the smartest girls at Stars Hollow, but this is a different place. The pressures are greater, the rules are stricter, and the expectations are higher. If you make it through, you will have received one of the finest educations one can get, and there should be no reason why you should not achieve all your goals. However, since you are starting late and are not used to this highly competitive atmosphere, there is a good chance you will fail. That is fine. Failure is a part of life, but not a part of Chilton. Understand?

"Yes" she answers almost too quickly before she is handed her file.

"Take this to Miss James in the administration office across the hall." Tina leaves quickly to meet Rory in the hallway outside and to find Miss James.
