I couldn't understand anything of what was happening, my siblings weren't in the car, was just me and mum, they weren't there...were they?!

"Yes they were there all the time, you consciously removed them from your memories" He said but it was like I wasn't even in the room...my mind was searching for a vision of them, how I don't know they were there?

"I let them die...that's why I can't see them, isn't?!" I raised my voice in an angry tone "You made me go through all of this to tell me I was a coward and didn't save them!!"

"You still have a strap kid" He calmly walked toward me and bend down looking straight into my eyes "What do you think you did?"

"They aren't here so it's pretty obvious don't you think?!" I said sarcastically

"Here...where!?" He said blankly "Do you even know where you are?"

I looked around and was a plain endless white room, the furniture was all gone, was just me on the chair and him, I couldn't believe in my eyes.

"No!! This isn't real! Get out of my head" I screamed trying to release myself from the head strap but was no use, was too tight.

A force pulled me and I was thrown back into the lake, I was in the exact same stop, looking at my mum still alive and looked at my brother and sister, I had to change the story, I had to save them.

So without hesitation, I reached back at them and released them both from the seatbelt, I took my sister first and after reaching the top I left her near the shore and she start spitting water out "stay here, I'll be back" and I dived in to get to my brother and leaving him with my sister, I came back for Mum, she wasn't conscious anymore and I tried to save her with all my strength, I remember she had a first aid kit behind her seat and was a scissors inside, I manage to cut through the seatbelt but when I was trying to take her to the top of the lake, I looked at the car and I was still inside...

With the blink of an eye I was back at his room, he was staring right in front of me but I couldn't make since of anything, what happened, how was I in the car? Where was my family?

"Nothing is what it seems" I whispered, I was in shock and I couldn't make sense of anything.

"Do you remember saving your siblings?" He asked and I nodded.

"Do you remember saving your mother?" He asked and I nodded again.

"Your siblings and your mother were saved by you, an incredible act of courage" He said getting closer to my chair "Do you know what happened to you?" He asked in a low voice, just like a whispering.

"I died" I answered.

"Was another passenger on that car, one that you died trying to save" He said emphasizing the die.

"Who?" He hand me a mirror and told me to look at myself.

"No!" I couldn't believe my eyes...

I look at him and now I could see him on his true self...my father.

"Hi Son." He said with a smile, how could this be possible? "You saved everyone but when u came back for me, we both didn't make it" he passed me a newspaper and there I read:

"Son tried to save his family and went into a coma whilist his father died."

"I have been cruel to you but yet you had the heart to try to save me, why?" He asked.

"..." I started to tear up.

"You have to forgive yourself in order to move on, you saw darkness in you and I had to show you the truth" my father said reaching for my shoulder softly "You had to see yourself through my eyes"

The truth is never what it seems...
