Once again Esteban had been right, but Mick had still pouted over the messages. He had been so excited when the other had texted him even though it was just a message clarifying who he was.

They texted quite a lot over the last week, exchanging dog pictures, talking about Marianos degree. He found out the other studied law and was currently in his first semester for his masters degree. He had two dogs, three cats and 'a couple of fishes' in the pound in their garden.

Mick had almost squealed in excitement when the other had sent him a picture of himself with his siblings. He was really glad that no one except for Angie was home to judge him for it.

It would be a lie to say he wasn't nervous when Mariano had agreed to come to his house after he had proposed his idea again.

Mick cleaned the entire house, it was useless Angies fur stuck to everything anyway, googled a recipe for paella, got confused and just prepared lasagne, which only needed to be baked.

He was currently sitting on the sofa, watching some football game, he didn't even know the clubs of, while rubbing Angies belly, when the doorbell finally rang. He jumped up almost hitting Angie in the process, who whined at him and ran to the door after giving her a few reassuring pets on the head.

"Hi"

Mick cringed at himself for how out of breath he sounded.

"Hola"

Could you have a language kink? If yes Mick was sure he had one.; because he almost died right then and there.

"You want to come in?"

"Otherwise, I wouldn't have showed up here in the first place."

Mick blushed and opened the door wider to let the other in. While Mariano took off his Jacket and shoes, Mick closed the door and forced himself to calm down again. He couldn't blush at every single sentence the other said.

"Are you hungry? Because I prepared lasagne and I just have to put it in the oven and then we could eat in 20 Minutes."

When Mariano smiled at him and nodded, his heart melted, and Mick almost forget to move. At least he didn't blush this time. Could you call that progress? Probably not.

Mick hurried into the kitchen to preheat the oven. He found Mariano kneeling in the living room petting Angie while following the football match Mick had been watching.

"We can turn it off or watch something else if you want, Mick proposed."

"No, it's fine, I love football, it's the only sport I really watch. My siblings always watch formula 1 even though my sister probably is a bigger football fan than formula 1 fan. Anyway, I never really understood why they like the sport"

Mick was too stunned to speak.

"It's my hometown club by the way. Sevilla FC, I mean, Valencia certainly isn't and they better not score a fucking goal."

The rest of the evening went fairly smooth, they ate the Lasagne, talked about siblings, Mariano's degree and Mick's 'obsession' with sports, as the other called it.

"AND YOU DIDN'T THINK OF TELLING HIM YOU ARE A F1 DRIVER YOURSELF?"

He was on a videocall with Lance and Esteban later that evening or rather night, but who cared because Mick was genuinly scared Lance was going to rip off his head through the screen.

"He literally told me he doesn't like the sport and cant understand why people like it. What the fuck was I supposed to say. Yeah, you know what funny story, I actually am a Formula 1 driver."

"Better than sitting there gaping at him."

Esteban nodded in agreement and once again Mick questioned why he was even friends with them.

"Anyway, unimportant you told me he invited you over to his flat as well? When, where, what are you doing?"

"Oh my god you sound like my mum, please shut up Lance. I won't give you his address so you can stalk him"

"Sad thing."

"Seriously though Mick, you should ask him out on a proper date.", Esteban was loking at him all serious and it made Mick nervous.

"Are you sure? We don't know each other for that long yet and I feel like there's something important I'm missing"

"True you don't really know each other that well, but you like him. If you think you should wait longer for whatever reasons then that's up to you, but it's definetly not too early to ask him out."

Esteban really gave the best advice, well out of the three of them that is.

"Yeah alright"
