Ch 2. Lunch

This 100% has to be the best job in the world.

Scott's classes went wonderfully.  His students were amazing, and they helped ease his nerves...  that is until Mitch decided to show up.

Apparently he had an hour free and thought Scott worthy of his time.

So yeah.  No big deal, just Mitch Grassi coming to LEARN from YOU. Mitch Grassi is YOUR student.

It was exhilarating.  It added an element of pressure, but that was ok... he always did his best work under pressure.  Although, it was a bit distracting. Every time he stopped to turn and watch the progress of his students, he couldn't help but pay special attention to Mitch, it was impossible not to.  When he could, he found an excuse to go over and press on Mitch's chest to correct his stance. He could feel the strength beneath his hand, his steady heartbeat even after all of the dancing he'd done.

He hoped the other man didn't notice when his touches lingered just a moment longer than necessary.

Mitch seemed oblivious and kept his gaze on Scott, wide-eyed and eager, listening to every word he had to say.

It was strange.  Scott had never pictured this in a million years.  The other way around maybe, but NEVER him teaching Mitch.

Mitch, of course, picked up the routine without much of a problem.  After all, hiphop or contemporary, he IS Mitch Grassi.

When class was over Scott grabbed his bag and wiped his face with a towel before taking a sip of water.

"You got any lunch plans?"

He turned to see Mitch headed straight towards him.

Is he talking to me?!

"Um, no.  I figured I'd just wander around until I found someplace decent looking."

He gave a bit of a sideways smile and Mitch grinned back at him, pearly white teeth on display.

"C'mon.  Let me take you to lunch.  I know this really great place down the street that won't make you feel like you've swallowed a boulder when you're dancing later."

Lunch... with Mitch.   He had to take a second to process the information.  Hopefully his inner fangirl could calm herself.  He already felt like he was making a complete idiot of himself. (...and maybe he was as he stood there just blinking at the other man momentarily...) But could he really say no, even to save himself from utter embarrassment?

"Sure, but I'll pay." He smiled at the shorter man hoping to make up for his momentary brain explosion.

Mitch shook his head, one perfectly groomed eyebrow arching to change his expression.

"Uh uh. I just bummed a class off of you, I should pay you for it."

Scott opened his mouth to protest, but Mitch held his finger up in front of Scott's mouth, his lips pursing and his face clearly stating that there would be NO arguing.

"Oh, no. My mind is made up and that.is.that." His finger accentuated the final syllable in the air. His eyes were playful, and his lips started to tug up into a smile.

Scott wouldn't have turned him down even if someone had held him at gunpoint to keep him from going.

"Alright..."  Scott laughed still getting used to the fact that Mitch was just a regular human being like everyone else.  Well... ish.  As regular as a super talented, perfect, beautiful superhuman could be.

~☼~

Mitch was surprisingly comfortable around this newcomer.  Scott was super chatty and seemed to be happy about... pretty much everything.  He found it quite amusing and very entertaining. He couldn't believe how many questions Scott had for him, but that was ok because he fired just as many back at the hyper blonde.

It felt familiar, comfortable.  They fell into an easy back and forth as they ate their meals.

Mitch almost lost track of time enjoying the company of the other dancer, but the waitress inquiring if he needed a drink refill brought him back to reality and reminded him of their time crunch.

"We should start heading back..."

Blue eyes met his gaze and he swore his heart had actually fluttered a bit at the sheer depths of them.  The carefree smile Scott had been wearing faltered slightly and he nodded.

What is going on in that head of yours, Scott Hoying?

Mitch paid, as he'd promised, and they both headed back to the studio.

He stopped once they'd reached the fork that divided the halls their rooms were located on.  He began to slowly walk backward towards his classroom.

"So I guess I'll see you tomorrow."   He tried to stop his smile at  "charming" and not let it make its way to "flirty" but somehow it sat right between the two.

"Yeah, I guess so."  Scott's own grin betrayed the nonchalance in his words.  Mitch gave him a bit of a lazy wave and the taller boy began to head down towards his classroom.

"Hey, Scott...."

Scott stopped and turned to look at him.

"Yeah?"

"Tomorrow you're buying..."  The brunette threw him a playful smirk before turning and disappearing down the hallway.  He didn't know why but he couldn't stop smiling.

~

Scott laughed and shook his head a bit as he made his way down the hall, his inner fangirl dancing wildly at the promise of lunch the next day with Mitch.

Yep, Best.Job.Ever!
