~Timeskip-Lunch Time~

~Reader's P.O.V.~

"Lunch!" Sting hungrily says next to you.  You roll your eyes and walk into the cafeteria.  You looked for an empty table near the corners, and you did find one near the very back.  You were about to walk over there when a hand stops you from behind.  You glance behind you to see Sting.

        You weren't really surprised.

        "What?" you ask in annoyance.

"Wanna sit at my table?" Sting asks you with a bright smile.  You scowl at him and push his hand away.

        "No," you answer.

"Aw come on!  Why not?" he pouted.

"I like being alone," you answer and walk away.  Before he could protest, you could hear his friends pushing him away from you.  By the time you reach the table you had in mind, it was already filled with girls chatting with each other.  When they notice you, they stop talking out loud and start whispering.

"That's the girl who was with Sting-sama," one girl whispered loudly.

"Tch, her?  She looks like a d*ck," her friend scoffed.

"I know right?  What does Sting see in this sl*t?" another one agreed.  You roll your eyes at their "whispering" and decided to leave the cafeteria.  You had packed, so you leave the noisy place and decide to eat somewhere peaceful.  You go outside and see a long cherry blossom tree.  You thought the shade would be dim enough for you, so you walk over there and rest your back on its trunk.  You sigh in content and set your bento box to the side of your leg.  You weren't hungry anyways.  You take out your Mockingjay book and start reading.  You kinda liked this book because of how dark the near end is and how Katniss felt throughout the trilogy.  It reminded you of, well you in some ways.  Just as you got to the part where Finnick was about to die, someone just had to interrupt you.

"Whatcha doing?" a familiar voice asked you.  To be honest, you wished you didn't recognize that voice.

"Reading," you mutter, burying your face in your book.

"Oo, what book is it?" he asked, tilting his head so that he can see the cover.

"Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins," you said, annoyance clear in your voice.

"Why do you sound annoyed?" he curiously asked.  You groan and put your book down.

"Because I wanted to be alone Sting," you growl.

"But why?" he frowned.  "No one is okay being alone."

"I am," you say.  "So leave me alone."  Instead of complying, he sits next to you.  You sigh, pick up your book, and buried your face into it again.

"(y/n), what's wrong?" he asked, his tone worried.  "You know, you were lucky to be saved by me."  You lightly scoff.

"Lucky how?" you ask, your voice soft instead of rude.  Even without looking, you could tell Sting frowned even more.

"You don't want to die right?" he asked.

"Sometimes, it feels like I deserve to," you mutter to yourself, remembering the incident once again.  Suddenly, Sting gripped onto your shoulders and made you stand.

"Don't ever say that," he said in a dead serious tone, making your eyes widened.  He stared at you, his dark blue eyes piercing yours.  You never realized how pretty they looked.  You slightly blush at the fact that your face and his was only inches apart, but you tried to focus on the situation at hand.  Why did he care so much about you?  Sure, he saved your life, but so what?

"Why.." you whisper.  "Why do you care about me?"  Sting looked a bit surprised, but before he could answer you the lunch bell rings.  Taking this to advantage, you quickly slip out of his grasp and pick up your book.  You threw away your untouched lunch and spedwalked to your class.

Unfortunately, that was when you remembered Sting was also in your class.  You quickly walk into the classroom and to your desk in the corner.

"Oh hey (y/n)," Minerva greets you nonchalantly.  You mutter a "hi" back and open your Mockingjay book to the page you were on.  You glanced up to see Sting come in with black haired emotionless friend and his buff green-haired one.  The long blonde-haired boy was a new one to you.  He was wearing a mask over his eyes, which you found weird, but then again, you knew you shouldn't be the one to judge.  You catch Sting looking at you, but he looks away as soon as you noticed.

"If I remember correctly, isn't that the new kid?" you hear the blond say.

"Yeah, that girl is sick when it comes to dodgeball," you inferred the green-haired said.  "You should've totally seen it Rufus.  I think she throws harder than Minerva!"

"I heard that Orga," Minerva growled, making them shiver.

"H-hai.." he squeaked back.  "Anyways, what do you think of her Rogue?"  You glanced at the black-haired, who just shrugged.

"She's not like all those fangirls, that's for sure," he answered.

"Amen," Orga nodded.  "I heard you skipped lunch to go see her Sting," he smirked, glancing at the spiky blond.

"Yeah, and now I'm starving!" he whined, clutching his empty stomach.

'He skipped lunch to see me?' you thought in your head.

"Yeah, what were you doing with her?" Rogue asked, raising an eyebrow in suspicion.

"Oh, just checking on her," Sting shrugged.  You swear he looked at you, but you weren't sure.

"Ohh, so you like her?" Orga smirked, wagging his eyebrows.

"N-no!" he denied.  "I was just wondering why she was alone all the time that's it!"  Before his friends could continue teasing him, you cough loudly.

"I'm right here you know?" you say, raising an eyebrow.

"Busted," Minerva snickered.  Orga and Rogue gulped, probably remembering your wrath from gym.  Rufus, who wasn't in your gym, backed away from you.  You scowled at them, making them all flinch.

"I suggest you go back to your desks before I do something I might not regret," you threatened.  They all gulped, nodded, and scrambled back to their seats.  And with that, the teacher came back and class started once again.

~Timeskip-At The End of The Day~

"Ah, it's finally the end of the day!" Minerva sighs in content next to you.  You've warmed up to her and you guess you can call her a friend.  Also good for you, your last class didn't have Sting in it, so you were free to finish the entire Mockingjay book.  "So, how was your first day (y/n)?" Minerva asks you.  You shrug.

        "It was...interesting," you answer truthfully.

"I'm glad," Minerva smirks, but then her face turns apologetic.  "A-ano, for today in gym, um.."

"You're forgiven," you say with a tiny grin before she finished.  Minerva returns your smile.

"Thanks," she says.  "Well, I gotta go now.  See ya tomorrow?"  You nod and wave goodbye as she leaves.  You then walk the rest of the way to your locker.

When you reach it, your eyes widened to see a slip of paper taped onto it.  At first you think it's one of those love letters, but you decide to read it anyways.  You take off the piece of tape and unfold it.

        It read:

___________________________________

STAY AWAY FROM STING.  HE'S NOT YOURS.

THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING (y/n).

___________________________________

That's all it said.  You weren't really fazed though.  You got death notes, threats, and basically insult papers stuck to your locker all the time in your old school.

"Hey (y/n)!"  You turn around to see Sting waving at you.  You quickly crumple the paper and stuff it in your pocket.  You took out your backpack, made sure all your stuff was in there, and shut your locket.

"What Sting?" you ask, back to your rude tone.  Sting notices this and frowns.

"Are you mad at me again?" he asks.  You shake your head.

"No, but I would like to go home," you reply, starting to walk.  Not to your surprise, Sting walks next to you.

"Want me to walk you home?" he offers.  Again, you shake your head.

"I'll be fine," you say, walking faster.

"O-oh.  Alright," Sting says.  "I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?"  You pause and think for a moment before answering.

"Sure.  Why not?" you say with a weak smile, which was the first time you willingly smiled at him.  Sting smiles broadly in response.

"Alright then.  See ya!"  he waves before running off.  You wave as well and walk back home, kinda forgetting about the warning.
