Present

A screeching halting noise made of a car comes from outside. Few voices can be heard soon after. As the source nears, the atmosphere is filled by giggles and laughter.

The door soon opens to reveal Shivay coming along with Amaira, a hand across her shoulder, Amaira laughing at something funny he just whispered in her ear.

Anika just keeps looking at them with a straight face, trying to contemplate what was exactly happening. Shivay is so engrossed with Amaira that he had failed to acknowledge Anika's presence, who was standing a little away, on the left side of the doorway, and certainly doesn't go well down with her.

Anika clears her throat, so that they can finally notice her.

Shivay (genuinely smiling): Oh hi Anika! When did you come? Did you have some work?

Amaira POV: A girl?! At Shivay's place?! I've never even seen him bring home any of his girlfriends let alone a stranger, from as far as I can remember: and now I find a girl waiting for him at his own residence. It even looks like that she is pretty familiar to her surroundings, which means she comes here pretty regularly. Nice.

Anika feels a little hurt, realizing that he had totally forgotten about her.

"Umm... To tutor you of-course. Does it Ring any bells?" she states, in full tadi.(attitude)

Anika POV: How can he forget that I came here all the way specially for him! .......Uh....I mean freaking Tutor him! She still tries to speak something in response, but her eyes are still fixed on his arm hanging loosely across her shoulders.

Amaira POV: Oooohh! Sassy! Suits Shivay well.

He makes an 'Oh! Just realised face' (😯) and says, "Oh shit! I'm sorry. I totally forgot about our class today. (He says lowering his voice a bit) You know, I've just been so busy this week with Amaira. Actually, this is all her fault!

Amaira POV: OH MY GOD! Did I just hear Shivay apologizing to someone who isn't either a family member or super close like OmRu. Now I am even more intrigued to meet this girl.

Oh wait! I didn't even introduce you both. My bad.

Shivay: Anika, meet my darling Amaira!" He introduces, grinning at her.

Anika : Hey

"Hey!" exclaims Amaira, and forwards her hand enthusiastically.

Shivay is still busy grinning when Amaira pokes him in the stomach with her left elbow.He looks at her irritated, but she just shrugs and waits for him to introduce her to the stranger standing infront of her.

Shivay: Ohh.... and she's Anika. My...(looks at Anika from the corner )........my my FRIEND!

Anika's face dropped.

Amaira POV: Oh my my! Just look at the poor girl's face. She looks so disappointed and hurt.

Maybe Shivay said something he shouldn't have. I really need to say something to clear the ackwardness clouding in the air.

Amaira: Anika! Such a sweet name.

Anika just gives a small smile.

Amaira POV: Oh god Amaira! You are not making the situation any better. Try saying something else and divert the topic.

Amaira: Umm... Shivay.......Is she the same girl you were rambling about earlier?

Anika looks up confused.

Shivay(astounded): Huh... What Ramble? .... I don't Ramble.... What are you talking about?!

Amaira: Oh, so you don't remember now. (folds hands across her chest)

"Don't worry! I'm here to help you remember." she says, smirking.

"You know Anika, he was saying thaaaa.....", she tries telling her, deliberately stretching the sentence, but her voice is muffled by a hand mid-sentence.

Anika just stood there confused.

Shivay: NOTHING! I said absolutely nothing. Don't mind her. She's just a bit too talkative. Right babe?! (He asks pinching her cheek a bit too hard)

Anika was just getting agitated now, and desperately wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible. Also, let's just say she was slowly loosing her temper too.

"I think since you're busy, I'll just leave" she says, sarcasm dripping in her tone.

Amaira: Why so soon? We've just met. Common, join us.

Rather than answering, Anika just briefly looks towards Shivay.

Amaira notices this and further says, "... and I'm pretty sure Shivay would want the same. Right Shivay?"

Shivay who is just looking at Anika absent-mindedly, just nods.

Anika: No, actually I think I'll just take you're leave. You two enjoy yourselves, alone!
(Amaira gives a confused smile.)
I mean, I don't want to disturb you two with my presence. Right Shivay?

Shivay doesn't say anything since he's still trying to figure out the reason of her sudden changed behavior.

"Bye Amaira. It was nice to meet you.", she says, hugging her.

"Bye Shivay", says Anika, with a forced smile, before turning and leaving away.

Shivay's POV: (scratching the back of his neck) what got into her? It was just a class! Moreover, they are my studies, and she should not worry about it so much. She's weird.
And Amira! Why can't she keep her mouth shut for once and be a good friend. She just loves embarrassing me! 😤 Today was close! Phew !! I better be careful around her next time.
I wonder what would Anika be thinking though right now 🤔

Later That Evening

Anika, Mallika, Om, and Rudra are on video call

Mallika: Now will you tell me what are you so mad about?

Anika: He called me a freaking FRIEND!!

OmRu giggle while Mallika just shakes her head. All of them receive a death glare from her.

Anika: This is the reason I don't share anything with you guys (she says with a straight face)

Om: Oh common Anika! Stop being a crybaby now.

Mallika: And I thought Rudra was the cry baby of our group.

Rudra:

Mallika: Ok guys! Enough laughing! Now, Anika tell me what is the problem

Anika: Are you deaf??! Can't you see the problem? I just voiced it out to you guys.

Rudra: I can't figure it out too, and I'm the smartest! So, maybe you are just over-reacting......

Anika looks at with him narrowed eyes.

"I said Maybe" Rudra defends.

Anika: He called me a friend and that too in front of that Amaira you guys are acting so indifferent. Emotionless creatures!

Mallika: Wait Wait... So let me get this straight.... You are mad at him because he called you a friend?!

Anika: Yes Dumbo!!

Rudra: But what's wrong with that?!

Om: Ya...I mean what's wrong with him calling you a friend?

Mallika: .......Unless, you want him to call you something else.

All of them exchange knowing looks.

"Rubbish!" she exclaims, huffing out air in anger.

Mallika: Really? So just tell me how did you want him to introduce you?

Rudra: Ya..... I mean it's not like you are his girlfriend or something.

Anika: But...but..... You guys also call me your Bhabhi (sister-in-law) all the time

Mallika: But you hate it when they do that

(All of them just receive an irritated look on the face, with a side of non-stop death glares)

Mallika: Stop giving me those looks now. You are the one who keeps on eating my ears complaining.

Anika: Then why do all of you guys refer to me as his girlfriend? Huh!?

Rudra: Because Shivay calls you his girlfriend!

Anika: See!! This is what I was talking about!

Mallika: It's not like you ever agreed to it.

Om: You never accepted him as your Boyfriend so I don't see the problem here.

He just receives narrowed eyes in response

Om: Hey! Mallika, ask your friend to stop giving us looks like she's gonna kill us just for stating true facts!

Mallika just laughs shaking her head at their nonsense.

Rudra: Also, Ms. Mehra, we do all that just for fun, because you get irritated and honestly, it's fun to watch you like that.

Anika: You guys are pure evil!

Mallika: Stop acting like a kid now you irritating lady and tell us what did you want him to introduce as?!

Rudra: Yes Please! Because we are done making guesses.

Om: Say something! Will you?

Anika: I don't know, but not just a friend at least.

Om: ... Or, do you actually like to be referred as his girlfriend.

Anika raises her head suddenly, in surprise, eyed popping out and cheeks flushed.

Mallika: Aawww Anika. Is it so?

"Crazy. All you guys are crazy. Everything you people are saying is crazy," She says in a daze, still flustered.

Rudra: Oh common! You are mad at Shivay because he didn't introduce you as his girlfriend. Admit it already.

Recomposing herself, she says, "You guys are mad. You all are just making absurd assumptions. I don't want to waste my time talking to insane people. Goodnight."

*Disconnects Video call*

"And you guys called me dramatic" says Rudra sighing.
