Haru's POV~
After we got home, Nathan and Josh both hugged me tightly. The both of them lightly nuzzle into my face, rubbing their cheeks on mine. After about 5 minutes of their nuzzling, they took me into the dining room. I was sat down on a chair and Josh walked into the kitchen and started to microwave something.
Nathan sat down beside me and lightly rubbed my back. "Haru, we're really sorry about what happened earlier. As we said before, humans are very rare pets in our world. Anyone would take the opportunity to nab someone else's in order to keep them or for bragging rights." I nod my head and was doing given a plate of what looked to be chicken nuggets.
I just sort of looked at it before Josh looked at me with a smile. "Need barbecue sauce?" I nod my head before realizing that, that is another similarity. It seems Nathan noticed my surprised glance. "Something wrong, Haru?"
I shake my head and then explained to them. "There's some significant similarities to my world that there is to this one." Josh sat down and gave me the barbecue sauce. They both watched me, curious to know what I'm referring to.
"To start off, it seems the bugs in your world have the same name that I would refer them to. Like bees, butterflies, flies, and so on. And it seems the same way fish. In my world, we would've called that pond at the park a Koi pond, and it seems you call it that too. Even barbecue sauce is a name I'm familiar with in my world." They both nodded in understanding.
Nathan was the first to speak up. "Well, it seems maybe we can connect our worlds together somehow. I mean, you were abducted from your home world to be sold as a pet here. So I think it's best to assume that there are either quite a few or possibly a lot more similarities than we think."
Josh was the one who spoke up next. "You know, if our worlds are connected in some way, maybe it's not through technology, but in a physical sense. Like, maybe one of our worlds originated based off the other."
Nathan and I both thought about it. I think that could very well be a possibility. What if my world was the original, but through some mysterious force, they evolved into a new world where they became human like. Or maybe this world has existed before ours. And the animals from my world are just evolved forms of them trying to survive. I mean, it'd probably make more sense if they originated first, considering they know how to travel between realms.
After I ate my.... "Chicken" nuggets, I was picked up by Josh who hugged me tightly. The wrist leash from before was put on me once again as we went outside. Nathan leaned down to almost my height and told me the situation.
"We're going shopping. If you see foods you like, as long as it's not junk food, point at it. We'll let you choose one sweet for now. Make sure you're healthy. But we're talking real food. Also, if you want any games or clothes, let us know." I nodded my head and we went into, I think Nathan's car.
I don't think junk food or desserts are even necessary right now. I wouldn't want to waste their money more so than they already do just to feed me and take care of me. I kept my lips shut as we all went to the store.
The store's name was called "Pawmart." Nothing out of the ordinary, just a simple store once we went inside. The shelves inside were stacked with a lot of things. Snacks, desserts, food, and so on. We were walking down the isles, me walking around while those two looked for food.
We stopped in front of the protein Isle. You know, where their version of foods from my world are. I looked at the food and back at Nathan and Josh. They both just nod at me, meaning they want me to choose. I look around and soon found what I think are burgers. I haven't had one in quite awhile, so I point at it. They both smile and pick it up. They also went and got oven fries to be a side.
They then walked over to the dessert isle. This time, Nathan was the one holding my leash and Josh was pushing the cart. I don't understand why they're going here. I mean, I get they said I can have one sweet, but I really don't want anything.
Nathan bent down and asked me what I want as I look at the cakes and sweetbread in front of us. I just shook my head.
"So, you don't want cake or bread? That's fine. How about ice cream? Or some brownies?" I shook my head in response to Nathan's question. Josh bent down next to me after I responded. "Do you want anything?"
I shook my head once again. They both nodded and we headed to the self checkout. I see a mini fridge and saw a drink inside. "Panda Orange." Looks an awful lot like a brand from the human world, but I just shook it off and tugged on Josh's shirt. He looked down and I pointed at it. He nodded his head and grabbed it for me.
After we were done, we all went back to the car. Finally, I can talk again. "Thank you guys for the drink. And I'm sorry if you really wanted me to get a sweet. I just didn't want anything."
Nathan chuckles as he drives. "Don't worry, cub. It's fine. If you don't want to have anything, that's completely fine. Though I don't blame you for wanting a drink instead. I tend to get thirty all the time."
I nod in response, even though Nathan can't see it since he's driving. But I guess he knew I did, somehow. Maybe he could sense my movement. I mean, I don't know if they have the same characteristics as tigers in my world.
After we got home, we went inside and Josh instantly got cooking. I looked at the time and saw it was about that time of day. While Josh was cooking dinner, I was lying down against Nathan. He rubbed my back, making me a bit sleepy. Nathan smiled at me softly, as if happy I was with him.
Soon, dinner was done and we all ate together. As I ate my burger, I thought about its contents. So I decided to ask. "What's burgers made of?" They both turned their attention to me. Josh was the first to speak up.
"Beef, what else would it be?" I thought about this. Does this mean there's cows in this world? Wait, that wouldn't make sense. I saw some bull and cow beastman before.
Nathan seemed to understand and responded to the question as if he read my mind. "The name of the animal is a Couis."
(Note: It's pronounced "Co-is")
I nodded my head in relief. At least I'm not eating their kind. Part of me wonders what would happen if they saw my world and its version of creatures. They'd freak out, no doubt.
After dinner, I lied down on the couch and took a nap.
Nathan's POV~
I grabbed Josh's hand and took him upstairs. We went into the bedroom and sighed.
"Josh, does it seem like Don is more of child than a pet to you?"
Josh nods and smiles.
"Of course. I don't want to consider him a pet anymore. I really do love him like I'm his father. You do too, right?"
I nod my head. Josh then thought of something, which made his face turn a bit red.
"I-If we both see him as our own child, then that would mean we'd be his..."
I blushed with what he was saying. I can understand right away what he meant. We both chuckled awkwardly.
"That'd be a ridiculous thought, huh?" Josh said with a still blushing face. I nodded in agreement, also blushing. Sure, we may both legally have Don as our pet, and consider him to be our child, but us get married and actually be his dads? That's ridiculous.... Right?
