Don's POV~

I awoke to the sound of music. But it wasn't loud, nor quiet. It echoed as if it was in a cave, gym, or...

I opened my eyes for the first time to see, I was in a mall. The mall was mostly white, different stores scattered about. Grocery stores, book stores, movies, and so on. This mall was pretty big, and spacious. Yet, why do I feel so cramped?

After about 3 minutes, my eyes finally adjusted to the brightness and I found that I was in a cage. I pushed and shoved myself around, but it wouldn't budge. I was breathing heavily and I looked out the window again. That's when I notice, I'm nowhere close to home. There were... animals. And when I say animals, I don't mean like an indoor zoo or something... the people of this world... they're animals that walk on two feet! They're wearing clothes, eating food I'd normally eat, and talking...

I hugged my legs close and hid myself. I'm so confused. How did I get here? Why was I brought here? Who brought me here? What purpose do I have here?

As these thoughts were running through my head, I looked around the store I was in... and I unfortunately found some of my answers... I look around to find many creatures. These creatures are definitely not from Earth. At least the Earth I know. I looked up at the sign to read "A New Best Friend." Judging based off that, this has to be a pet store...

My thoughts raced faster than a race car. A pet store? If all these creatures here are being sold as pets, and I'm locked in a cage, then that must mean...

I couldn't even finish my own sentence as my mind started to go all over the place. I-I don't know what to do... I can't go anywhere. I rest my head on my knees and tried to not think about it. As I did this, I felt a familiar object in my pocket. I pulled it out, and I found it was my phone.

I go into my phone and look at the service. Wait a minute, NGfte? What is wrong with this place? I didn't care and dialed in 911. I waited for about a minute, but there was no answer. I went to text the police, but my text was immediately deleted as soon as I sent it! And not like it was sent, but the text just disappeared! I sighed and wondered if I could use online games on my phone. The thing was, I could! I tried to tell people in the game that I was abducted and taken to this strange world, but they all thought I was delusional!

I sighed and gave up, putting my phone away and resting my head against my knees. I was hoping this was just a bad dream and that when I wake up, I'd be back home.

Nathan's POV~

Josh and I were walking around the mall. We were roommates in a house we both owned, and we have been friends since elementary school. However, we both started getting bored at home because we never really did anything together. And there were times when one of us had to go to work. And during those times, it gets really lonely.

Today, we finally decided to come here. We weren't doing anything in particular though. Just looking around. And we only brought our money for food. Josh looks at me and smiles. "Hey! Let's go to the pet store! I've been dying to see if they have anything cute!" I smile a little and nod as he drags us there.

It was fun being around Josh. He always had ways to keep me happy. He didn't even have to do anything, Josh's personality is just an overall fun person. It's hard not to smile when he's around. He dragged me into the big pet store in the mall and we looked around. So many creatures. Big, small, cute, ugly, scary, and so on. Josh was looking at the animals with delight. Knowing Josh was happy made me happy.

As we were walking through the store, something caught my eye, making me stop. I walked over to it and saw something adorable. It's an animal that must be rare, or something. I haven't seen this before. I look at the sign and read what it says. "Human." I looked at it, and I can't help but want it. A lot.

Josh's POV~

I was exploring the store with Nathan, all the animals were amazing. I've always liked the wildlife. No matter where it's from, or how old it is. I keep looking around, but soon I found that I lost Nathan.

I went back and looked around for him. I retraced my steps and it didn't take long for me to find him. Must have found something he likes. I walk over and touch his shoulder. He looks at me and I smile at him. He smiles back and looks back at the pet.

I shift my gaze at the thing inside the cage. Oh my god, it's adorable. I look at the sign to read what it was. A human. Wow, I've heard these kinds of pets are very rare. And they're not found in our country. I look at the price and my body froze. 3,000 Paw coins. Dang, that's a lot.

I feel Nathan grab my arm and I look down at him. I could see the hope in his eyes as he stared at me. "I want it." I smile, and nod. "I want it too." We look back at it and it looks up. He sees us and immediately backs up against the other side of the cage. It's so adorable! We have to have him! We called up a worker about payment, paperwork, and name certificate as well as a collar.

She smiled and nodded before talking. "This one just came in today. I'm surprised he was taken so fast." We nod and smile. She puts the cage on a carrier and takes it to the register. She hands us a Manuel, as well as a name certificate. She puts in the numbers. "Let's see, your overall price is 3,025 paw coins." Nathan and I looked at each other and nodded. We split the price evenly and it was official. This human is ours now.

The both of us were so excited that we didn't even eat. We went straight home and set up some stuff. We set the cage he was in down and opened it. He didn't come out, and nor did he want to. We looked into the Manuel and it says that humans typically always act like this when coming across new environments. It seems he's scared, which I could understand. We weren't going to force him out, so we both just looked at him from the door.

"Hey there, my name is Josh, and I'm your owner."
"I'm Nathan, and I'm your other owner."

He didn't look like he had any intentions on getting out, which is fine, he'll come out eventually. I smiled at him and continued.
"We hope you like it here with us. And we hope you may like us eventually." Nathan continues where I left off. "We hope that one day, you'll be comfortable to sleep with us, and let us bathe you, and so on. We chose you because you're adorable. And for us..." Nathan and I nod at each other and look at him with big smiles.

"You're Purfect."
