~Janus' POV~

"Please (Y/N) Please you need to wake up..." I held onto my lover's hand as they laid still on the hospital bed. They've been in a coma for what's felt like years but It's only been a few months. The hospital bills were outrages but it was worth it if (N/N) wakes up and is able to lay in my arms again. "Please my snake," I begged wishing they could hear me in their state. I kissed their hand and squeezed it softly. It was something we'd both do when we needed the other person. The other one to hold them and show them physical affection. I pressed my forehead against our hands and let out a soft breath. 

I felt the bed move a little and I looked up immediately. They were groaning a little and moving to try and lay on their side something they always did when they wanted to sleep more. "(Y/N)!" One of their doctors came in and saw them moving. They fluttered their eyes open and looked at me. I was on the verge of tears as we looked at each other. "(NN)....My Snake." I hugged them and cried into their shoulder but They didn't hug me back. They only flinched when I hugged making me pull away. "(Y/Y/N)? What's wrong?" 

"Who Is (Y/N)?" 

"Y-You are. Your name is (Y/N) (L/N)" 

"Oh....well...Who are you?"

I felt my heart shatter as I looked at them. Their doctor walked up to her and asked me to leave the room for a moment while they looked them over. I walked outside the room and collapsed onto the chair. I gripped onto my hair and cried softly. They told me that (Y/N) was going to remember everything. At the very least just forget their car accident but everything else would be okay. 

"W-Why did this have to h-happen to you...Wh-Why not me." 

I mumbled knowing that even if I was there they'd still be hurt. I couldn't help but blame myself since I wasn't in control of any of this. I was at the mercy of fate or god or the universe or just luck and I HATED it.

"Mr. Drefran? May I speak with you?" I quickly wiped my eyes and shot up immediatly. I looked at the doctor and straightened up. "O-Of course" "Well...She's lost some of her memory but thankfully it's only temporary and will sooner rather than later come back." I let out a sigh of relif. As least it was temporary and wasn't a permant thing. "You'll have to be paitent and try to jog her memory a little." I nodded with a soft smile. "Of course Thank you so much Doctor." They nodded before letting me into the room. 

They were getting into their clothes I had brought to her a few days ago. They were already clothed which was good. "Hey (Y/N)." They looked over and smiled softly. It reminded me how they looked when we first met. "Uh Hello! I still never got your name Mister!" They threw their jacket over their shoulders and smiled. "Oh uh...It's Janus, Janus Drefran." "Oh cute! Your name is really cool! Pleasure to meet you Janus! May I ask why you were in here?" They asked casually as if it happens regularly. "I was...Well I was making sure you woke up since well...we're together." 

They looked at me and cocked their head. "I mangaged to rope a handsome male such as yourself into a relationship with me? I gotta pat myself on the back for that. You are handsome and so far really polite!" I blushed a bright red and looked away hiding my birthmark by my hair. "U-Um...Th-Thank you" "Of course! What kind of together are we? Married? Dating? Engaged?" "Engaged. I proposed a few months ago." "Aww! How did you!" I cleared my throat still very much red. 

"Come on let's get you home first so you can relax okay?" They sighed but nodded. "You're right! Let's go!" They took my hand and I smiled and squeezed it a little.

'Maybe I could make her refall in love with me before she remembers fully...I'd love that'
