❤Roman's POV❤

I sighed and wiped my forehead from sweat. "Hey Brother see anything?" "Nope! Sorry, Ro-Ro!" I groaned and popped my neck. "Well let's drop anchor by a nearby island so we can restock on supplies. The others might want some time off the ship as well." Remus nodded and ran under the deck to get the others. I steered the ship and saw land up ahead on the port side. I steered us to the island and dropped our anchor. "Awake Sailors!!!" I sang as the others walked out. We only had a few sailors on the ship. Virgil, Patton, Remus, Logan and Myself!

"We are awake Roman, did you and Remus find anything?" I shook my head at the dark blue padded out male. "No, we didn't see anything to note." He nodded and walked off the ship. "Hey Captain!!" I almost got tackled into a hug and saw it was the light blue wonder, Patton. "Hey, Pat! Is everything in order under the ship?" He smiled and saluted me. "Yep! Everything's perfect and in order!... Virgil and Logan had to help me though." I smiled at him. "That's fine." He grinned and skipped off the ship. "What are we doin' here Princey?" I sighed at the purple-haired male and rolled my eyes. "My name isn't Princey! Nor am I a prince!" He smirked at my reaction while Remus jumped from behind me.

"Supplies and a break for everyone! Besides, I think we might find somethin' here!" "Like my brother said." Virgil just nodded and walked off. My brother and I walked out and Logan was already spitting facts about this island. "You know this place?" "Yeah, well kinda, I read about it and saw it in the maps a lot. This place has more mystical sightings than any other place" I cocked my head to the side and he sighed. "Things like Mermaids, fairies, Magic in general Roman." My eyes widened and I smiled. "Really???" "Yes." He sighed out. "I would like to see one but I'll need more information. I hope this island has a library." "Okay then! This is our mission to find one of these mystical beings!"

"Are we going to take them with us?" Virgil asked. I paused and shook my head. "No, that would be kidnapping and inhuman to take something out of their natural habitats for personal gain. We'll just take notes and learn about them. Maybe even draw them." The four nodded at my words. "But for now let's just find a place for us to stay cause we're gonna be here for a while." Patton and Remus skipped off to roam around and explore. Virgil and Logan left to look for a place for us. I started roaming the edge of the island. There were a lot of boats around 'They're must be a lot of sailors here.'

"My heart is pierced by cupid~"

I snapped my head around. "Hello?" I swear I heard someone sing. "Hello?" I called again as I neared the water. I stood by the edge of the water and squinted at the sea. I saw something shimmer in the water. It looked (F/C) to me. 'Am I going crazy?'

"I Disdain all glittering Gold~"

My eyes widened when I saw someone rise from the water. Their bright (E/C) eyes caught me off guard. They were so alluring and gorgeous. I stepped closer to the water it started to touch my boots. They rose higher and their (H/C) hair framed their face perfectly.

"There is nothing can console me, but my jolly sailor bold~!"

They got closer and I did as well. I saw every detail about them. They had an Aquamarine necklace around their neck, gold inlaced in the (F/C) and (2/F/C) clothes they had on. It appeared to look like armour. They rose their hand up and smiled at me.

"Come all you pretty fair maids, whoever you may be"

I took their hand and they started to pull me away from the shore. We locked eyes as we got further out at sea.

"Who love a jolly sailor bold. That plows the raging sea"

"You have such a pretty voice" I mumbled to them barely able to hear myself as I stared at them. They pulled me to their chest and was about to say more but their eyes widened. "ROMAN!" I snapped back into reality when I heard Remus and Patton. I looked over my shoulder and I was far into the sea. I looked back at the person in front of me and they pushed me away and swam away. "Wait-" I cut myself off when I saw an (F/C) tail shimmering in the sun splash me with water. I wiped the water from my eyes and they were gone. "ROMAN! WHAT THE BLOODY HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!?" Remus called out as I swam back to shore.

"I-I don't know" I looked back at the sea and tried to see any (F/C) in the water but nothing. "Did you see something?" "Um...No, I didn't." "Then why the hell-" Remus smacked the back of my head "Ow!" "-Where you out there you fuckin' idiot??? You could have died!" I shrugged. "Wanted to go for a swim" I smiled and looked at the water. I swear I saw Goldish yellow and rainbow. 'I need sleep.' "Come on you two, let's see if Logan and Virgil found a place!" "Alright, Patton," we said in sync before following him.

~Your POV~

I quickly swam away from the brunette and sighed out. "(Y/N)!" I turned around and found Thomas and Janus behind me. "What were you doing?!? Luring a Sailor." "Of course you were!" "Wasn't my fault! He and the rest of his buddies want to find our kingdom!" Janus growled but Thomas cut him off. "Calm down Janus, (Y/N) you didn't hear the whole conversation-" "Doesn't matter I'm not letting him find any of us."

He sighed and rolled his eyes. Thomas was the prince of the Mermaid and Siren kingdom while Janus was his royal adviser. I was the head of his knights and I was very loyal to the throne. "Thomas, let me deal with them." He looked at me and sighed. "I want you to try and make friends or make peace of that sailor." "What??" "You heard me (Y/N). As the son of the king and heir to the throne, I hereby order you to try and make peace with the sailor." Thomas was a pacifist and never wanted any fighting or death. He wanted to make friends or make peace with humans. I never understood why but since he was the prince I couldn't argue. "Yes, Your Highness."

I swam out to the shore again late that night. I looked around and saw the brunette again by the shore. He was sitting on a rock and looking out. I swam closer to it and sang softly to get his attention.

"My heart is pierced by Cupid I disdain on glittering gold~"

He looked over and saw me. His eyes widened and he beamed. "You're the mermaid from earlier!" I nodded and looked up at him. He got off the rock and took off his shoes. He rolled up his pant legs and took off this bag that was around his shoulder. He smiled and got into the water. "I'm sorry I never introduced myself, My Name Is Roman Royals!" He took out his hand and I swam down a little looking up at him. 'He's being...friendly..stand your ground (Y/N)' I took his hand and shook it. "(Y/N) (L/N)" His eyes widened looking at my hand. "Your hand is soft! How is that?" He looked at me with wide eyes full of curiosity. I pulled my hand away from his and looked at him suspiciously "You're a very curious and...nice sailor Mr Royals."

He blushed softly and smiled. "Yeah, I've always wanted to meet a mermaid! I thought you all were myths! Are their more of you?" I nodded. "Yeah, A whole kingdom." He gasped and beamed at me. "Are you the heir???" I blushed and shook my head. "No, I'm the head knight." "That's incredible! A whole kingdom of them!" He shot out of the water making it splash at me. He ran to his bag and dug through it. I cocked my head to the side and swam to the shore. "What are you doing?"

He pulled out a book and what looked to be a pencil and walked back over. "Do you know what these are?" I nodded. "Yeah, but what are you doing with them?" He started scribbling on the page as he spoke. "I'm going to write down what you said. If we give this proof that mermaid exists we can help-" "No!" I put my hand on his wrist stopping him. He looked at me surprised. "Roman, you can't do that" "Why not? People are polluting the oceans and if people know that sentient beings are living in the ocean they'll have to stop." "Maybe but then they'll start to hunt us more than they already do. We'll be ripped from our families and homes and be killed or put on display like some sort of amenity."

He looked at me in shock. "Really?" I nodded. I knew I had to give an example or I'll never get it through his head and make it stick. "That's how I lost my parents. We were swimming by this exact shore when sailors spotted me. My parents dove in to protect me and in doing so the sailors took them away. I heard one of them scream on the boat while the other told me to swim away and never come back to the shore. One of the sailors saw I was swimming away and gripped on my throat. I ended up grabbing onto him and drowning him to escape. I was very young and being that young and watching this happen it makes you scared. It's even worse that I killed one of them to escape when I could have saved my parents."

Roman had tears in his eyes as I told the story. I didn't realize I was crying until he wiped away the tears away. "I can't believe someone could do that to such amazing people...and you." I blushed at his words but pushed his hand away. "Please Roman, I beg of you, don't tell anyone you saw me. Please, I can't risk my home being torn apart and more people I love being ripped away from me by greedy individuals." He smiled and nodded. "I promise. I won't even tell my team not even my brother." I smiled at him and hugged him. "Thank you, Roman." He hesitated but hugged me back. "Your welcome (Y/N)"

I pulled away and smiled. "Your the kindest human I've ever met Roman." "Really? Thank you sadly I have to go tomorrow if I don't want my team to see you all." I nodded and put my hands behind my neck. I took off my necklace and handed it to him. "Thank you, Roman. Have this...its precious to me and I trust you to take care of it." He blushed and nodded. "I will, I swear on my life." I got closer to him and kissed his cheek. I grinned at him before I heard footsteps coming closer. He seemed to hear it too cause he spun his head around. "Virgil, go quick." "Goodbye Roman Royals." I waved goodbye before swimming away. I was far enough so no one could see me but I saw Roman put on the necklace I gave him. I blushed and swam back home

Maybe all human's weren't bad...maybe, just maybe, some were kind and showed how good humanity could be.
