Chapter Twenty-nine
Isabelle's Point of View
"Calum come here," I said, noticing the boy's bad mood. He shook his head and I chuckled. "I wasn't asking you, I was telling you," I said and he looked up.
"I wanna stay here," he said and I chuckled. "Ask one of the other boys or Ally to go to you. Like call them with the intercom or soemthing."
"They're in the cafeteria, and I don't want them to come here, I want you to." I said and he sighed. He nodded and stood up. He walked over and I scooted to the side so he could sit on the bed.
"What?" he asked me and I leaned back.
"What's wrong?" I asked him and he sighed. "And don't you dare say nothing, I know when something is wrong. You can trust me," I said and he nodded.
"Are the others coming? I don't want them to hear this," he said as he rubbed his arm. I shook my head and he sighed again. "I'm just still so scared," he said and looked at me.
"I get it," I said. "Come here, don't be a baby, sit next to me, this way it's easier to comfort you." I said and he did. He sat beside me and I thought about what I was going to say.
"Look, this is all over. The guys after you are dead, and there's no way for them to hurt you or your families and friends." I said and he nodded. "And you're used to feeling like someone is watching you, or is gonna wrap their arms around you and take you. But that's not gonna happen.
And if I'm staying, I will make sure nothing happens. I know I didn't keep that promise before, and there isn't an excuse I can use except for being stupid, but I will this time. This feeling, paranoia and all of that, won't last, trust me.
Just keep repeating it in your head until you believe in it. You have to believe in it if you want it to happen. You have to believe these feelings won't last forever. And they won't, but I can't make you believe, you have to do it yourself." I said and he nodded.
I wrapped my arms around his shoulder and sighed. "But if it makes you feel any better," I said and he looked up. "I'm still not over this whole thing either," I said and he chuckled.
"What happens if you don't get to stay Isabelle?" Calum suddenly asked me and I shrugged my shoulders as the mood dropped a bit.
"I honestly do not know, for you guys that is. I'm gonna have to be put in new missions and crimes to solve as soon as I get back. But you guys are probably gonna have Leo, he's cool too." I said with a smile. Though I was hiding it and wouldn't admit it just yet, I would miss these idiots.
"But you're better," he said and I laughed. "Leo's so damn grouchy in the morning we had with him and always snaps at us. And besides, he won't talk to me in the middle of the night or help me with my problems."
"I was too," I said. "I mean, I poured a pot full of ice cold water on your best friend and almost slapped Ashton, multiple times." I said and we laughed at the memory.
"I still have that video of you and Michael," he said and I laughed. "And I know, I was close to slapping Ash multiple times myself. But he just wasn't used to you yet. He didn't like the idea o-"
"Of a 'teenage' girl risking her life for a bunch of boys she doesn't know, yeah yeah," I said and put quotations around the word 'teenage'. Calum laughed and nodded while I chuckled a bit myself.
"Wait, what do you mean 'teenage'?" he asked, quotating the word aswell. I laughed as I retracted my arm and put it in my lap.
"I'm not a teenager anymore," I said. "When I told Ashton this, and it looked like his whole life was a lie," I said with a chuckle as I remembered his expression when I told him. "I'm twenty, that's not exactly teenage."
"Damn," Calum said. "I thought you were eighteen, nineteen," he said and I rolled my eyes. "We all did,"
"I'm not," I said and he nodded. "But anyways, I'm sure he'll help you. And now you have the other boys to help you because they know about it. You don't need me, and the others don't need me."
"I know." he said and leaned his head on my shoulder. It wasn't as weird as it was weeks ago when I first arrived. I had grown used to the whole 'physical contact' thing the boys like to have.
"Isabelle," he said and I hummed. "What if there are more people after us?" he asked scared and I shook my head.
"I'll be there, and so will Leo, since he will become an agent. A request from a highly respected, and experienced, agent can get you the job." I said and he nodded. "But I highly doubt anyone else is after you. We killed the guys already, no one else is gonna be after you so quickly."
"Yeah," he trailed off quietly and yawned. It was only around like four or five pm, but hey, when you're tired, you're tired. "I'm sleepy," he mumbled and I rolled my eyes.
"Hi sleepy," I said and he let out a tired laugh.
"You're an idiot." he said and I chuckled.
"I learned from you and the others," I said and he laughed. "If you're tired sleep, I'm not going to sleep, or anywhere for that matter."
He nodded and I started singing a song quietly. It was another thing that I loved when I was younger. I loved when someone sang me to sleep. The song was old, but I loved it. It was by Bon Jovi, it was called 'Livin On A Prayer'.
"We gotta hold on, to what we've got, it doesnt make a differende if we make it or not." I sang. "We got each other, and thats a lot for love, we'll give it a shot."
Soon soft snores were heard and I chuckled quietly. Leo walked in and rose an eyebrow at us, well, at me since I was the one awake. "A little close aren't you two?" he teased and I rolled my eyes.
"Fuck off," I said and he rose his arms up in defense. "And besides, im closest to him. This whole thing has done some pretty good damage on him, emotionally, mentally, and obviously physically. And I was usually there so theres like this bond."
"Of course. Happens all the time right?" he asked as he walked in and shut the door.
"Only when it's a group," I said and he nodded. "I always get closest to the one who's the most freaked out by the whole situation."
He nodded once again and spoke up. "I just wanted to say this, their house is fixed. And you can leave tomorrow." he said happily.
"Thank god," I said, keeping my voice low so I don't wake up Calum. "A week and a half here is way too much. Though im glad it's not like every other hospital."
"Yeah," he said and I chuckled at his awkwardness.
HEEYY, sorry this was so late. I was thinking of how to start it and what to put in it. And how many more chapters it's gonna be. Maybe three or four, possibly five.... Now I'm sad because I loved writing this so much haha.
Anyways, I love you guys and will have an update tomorrow or in a few hours, so beware. *insert the winky emoji and smirking emoji*
