Chapter twelve
Ashton's Point of View
I slammed my shoulder against the door, trying to break it down. I did it repeatedly, until finally, after maybe five or six slams, it fell back and revealed a sobbing Calum. I ran over to the side of the bed, jumped on the bed, and held him in my arms.
"I need you to calm down Calum." I said, worried. He was having trouble breathing, it was like a panic attack, I guess . He shook his head as the tears kept streaming down his face and he gasped every few seconds.
"Please Calum," I said and he shook his head. He spoke out, his voice ran down and words broken up by gasps. His eyes were swollen red and tears fell rapidly from them.
"I-I'm s-so-rr-ry," he shook his head, saying he couldn't. He's scared about the future and about everyone hating him because of the simple kill he made earlier. Sure, I was scared, shocked, even surprised, but it's Calum, he wouldn't do it if something didn't push him over the edge.
"Calum, it's fine. It was necessary. Don't beat yourself down for it. You had to." Isabelle said, putting a hand on his back and rubbing it. He shook his head and buried it in his hands.
"Calum, look at me," I said softly and he shook his head. "Calum," I said in a sterner voice, but he still refused. "Calum Hood, look at me." I said and he looked up, noticing my tone of voice.
"No one is going to hate you. Our fans won't, we most certainly don't, your family won't, no one will. No one is even going to find out. It's fine. You're not a murderer. This was a form a self-defense." I spoke softly, hoping it could help him. "Now you need to breath in and out deeply. Calm down. Everything's going to be okay."
I don't know if he believed me, but I hope he did. He nodded and tried, breathing in deeply and breathing out heavily. Luke and Michael stood there, unable to help because they don't know what to do when someone has a panic attack. Isabelle helped by rubbing his back and copying the way he was breathing.
Calum looked like he wanted to speak but I shook my head. "Shh, don't say anything. Just focus on getting your breathing steady, for the third time today." I said and he nodded.
"Three times?" Michael asked and I nodded. "What happened?"
"I'll explain the whole thing another time," I said and he nodded. Up until now, I had forgot about the cut on my neck. It stung horribly, but I didn't notice it because I was so focused on Calum.
"I'm sorry," Calum spoke after his breathing turned to normal. His voice was croaky and soft, and his cheeks were tear stained. "You shouldn't be here helping me, you have your own cuts to tend to."
"It's fine Calum," Isabelle said before I could answer as she patted his back. "It's your guys' health before mine remember? I told you the day I came, and earlier today, you before me, not the other way around."
The tone in her voice made me smile a bit. It was caring and sweet, which was unusual because it's usually bossy and full of authority. I never seen this side of her, and it made me question the way I acted towards her. Maybe I should be a bit nicer. Maybe.
"Same, you're like my brother, of course I'm gonna put you first. I love you. It's always been you before me." I said and he smiled.
"I love you too Ash," he said and yawned. "But I'm tired now," he said and I nodded, understanding him because I'm tired aswell.
"Okay," I said and gave him a hug. "It was eventful day today and I'm sure we're all tired as balls."
"Yeah, you guys get some sleep. Except you Ashton, I need to talk to you, after I talk to Calum." Isabelle said and I sighed but nodded. "Now Michael, Luke, go get some sleep. I have something planned for tomorrow."
"Okay, night guys." Luke said and yawned, walking out of the room. It was still a bit early, eight ot nine. We usually don't go to sleep early, but today is an exception.
"Good night guys," Michael said and I waved him off. He shut the door behind him and I stood up from Calum's bed, thinking they might want to talk alone.
I had to talk to Isabelle aswell, not only because of Calum, but because of the attack. I'm no expert, but I know we can't stay here. The living room and kitchen is trashed and the windows are all broken. I walked out of the room, saying a good night to Calum before I shut the door.
Isabelle's Point of View
"Do you think you're gonna be able to get some sleep Calum?" I asked worried. He sighed and shook his head, which caused me to sigh myself.
"No, I just needed an excuse to be alone. I'm sure they wouldn't leave if I didn't tell them that." he spoke sounding guilty. "I don't think I'm mentally stable enough at the moment to go to sleep. I'd probabky wake up in the middle of the night because of a nightmare."
"You're gonna need to sleep, and if you don't sleep, I'm gonna need you to pack." I said and he nodded, but looked at me confused.
"Pack? Where are we going?" he asked worried.
"Somewhere that's not here. Your house is trashed, my apologies, and there is like no protection for you guys. We'll go talk to Leo about it, see if he can arrange something. Somewhere for us to stay until I have your house fixed." I said and he nodded.
"But the innocent person would be dragged into this, this crap." he said and I chuckled at his choice of words.
"I know but maybe he has someone in mind. Someone who is fine with it. Or another agent. Who knows?" I said and ended that conversation at that.
"So if you can't sleep, I would pack so you don't have to in the morning. We're leaving early," I said and he nodded. I walked to the door and grabbed the handle but before I opened the door I turned around. "And Calum, please at least try to sleep."
He nodded and I opened the door and shut it behind me. Ready to speak to Ashton and explain some things to him.
Sorry, this was really bad compared to my last chapter. But I hope you liked it anyways. ♡
