Royal au

Florida and his siblings are expected to be perfect

Florida hates it, he isn't allowed to act chaotic or get in fights because he's supposed to represent his family

He also hates that he's going to have to marry someday so his family can keep their power/status

He sneaks out a lot with Louisiana and Georgia because he wants to pretend he has a normal life for a bit

DC works in their garden

He leaves Florida flowers whenever he can

Florida wishes he weren't royalty so he and DC could get married

Spain tells him he has a wedding arranged and Florida panics for a lot of reasons

-no more sneaking out

-he's actually going to have to start acting like a prince around people

-he's very gay

-he's in love with DC

he tries to refuse but Spain doesn't let him

the night before he leaves, packing a small bag of clothes and food

he leaves a note for DC and just runs, way past anything he's used to

Texas meets him and agrees to let him stay

Florida's terrified for the longest time that Texas will sell him out for money or use him for ransom

until he finds out Texas is in the same situation he is
