Annabeth's POV

My friends somehow managed to stem the flow of questions that was trying to make it's way out of them until we were situated in one of the cabins to talk. We settled down in Cabin One and... well, let me make this clear. We weren't a squealy bunch in slightest. But it's not everyday you get engaged to the boy you've known since you were twelve. So, we settled down in Cabin One and squealed excitedly. All five of us. Then we had a conversation where we could hardly understand each other because we were talking so fast.

Piper: When did he ask?

Hazel: Was it super sweet?

Calypso: Did he stutter? It seems like he would.

Thalia: I agree with Calypso; he probably screwed it all up.

Me: It was right after Chiron told us we would have to go on the quest, but before the prophecy.

All four of them: That's why you were late!

Me: *laughs* Yep. It was so sweet... well, actually, the way he worded it, I thought he was going to break up with me at first. But I think he meant to do that. And he actually did a great job, no messing up.

Hazel: What do you mean you thought he was breaking up with you?

Me: He said something like, "I don't want you to be my girlfriend... will you be my wife instead?" And some other stuff before that, too. He's just one hundred percent my Seaweed Brain.

Calypso: That is so hopelessly romantic and so cute! 

Me: I know! I was bawling, of course.

Piper: Awwww!

Thalia: Well let's have a look at the ring!

They admired my ring as it glinted in the light. Piper was still baffled that she hadn't noticed it on me before. I told her that I had been careful to slip it off when in front of everyone, but she was still mystified.

Then Hazel asked, "Did you anticipate him asking anytime soon?"

I had to think about this one for a minute. "I mean... it's been in the back of my mind for a long time. But I didn't think, like, now. But I'm really glad he did." 

The four of them laughed at my response. "What?" I demanded. 

"Oh, it's just, I don't know," Piper began. "I guess that we all have seen it coming all summer."

"How?" 

"It's just obvious," Thalia finished. I stared at them all like they were crazy, but gave an okay in response.

"So have you started planning for the wedding?" Calypso questioned.

"Because we will very gladly help," Piper added.

"No, not yet. All we decided is that we want it to be here, at camp."

"That's perfect!" Thalia exclaimed. "We'll give you more time to think about, then come back and start planning."

"That sounds great," I told them. "Plus, I need to meet up with Percy again so we can tell everyone else. Gods, Sally is going to be so happy."

They all stood up and said goodbye, but I pulled Thalia and Calypso back before they could leave. I knew, I don't know how I knew but I did, that they knew about the engagement before I told them.

"Okay, how did you two know?"

"Oh, I didn't know it actually happened," Thalia responded with a smirk. "But I knew Percy was going to ask sometime. He talked to Grover and I about it." I just nodded my head, the news didn't surprise me. But Calypso was a little slower to answer.

"Um, one time I walked up behind Percy and I heard him mumbling plans about how to ask you." She said it smoothly, but I was still skeptical. But I guess I didn't really care, anyway.

"Alright, I was just curious," I told them. Then the three of us ran to catch up with the other two to find the rest of the gang.
