Chapter 10
"Hey Rem?" Janus asked, marking the page in his book and looking up.
"What's up Janus?" Remus asked, half-off his bed and looking at Janus upside-down. Janus opened his mouth to ask something but then shook his head.
"Nevermind. If you keep doing that, all the blood's going to rush to your head and you're going to pass out." He said instead. Remus laughed.
"Why else do you think I'm doing this?" He asked and Janus shook his head, laughing disbelievingly.
"Honestly, I'm not sure what sort of answer I expected." He muttered, smiling a little as he went back to his book. Remus fell off the bed with a crash and rolled onto his front, looking at Janus' feet.
"You still reading that same book?" He asked, getting up and leaning his head on Janus' shoulder, trying to get his attention.
"It's a 1067 page book, Rem. I'm not going to finish it in one sitting." Janus muttered, swatting at Remus. Remus huffed and sat on his bed again. He laughed.
"It's been two weeks and my brother's still losing." He mused. Janus looked up at Remus with one eyebrow raised.
"Are you still going on about that bet?" He asked half-heartedly. Remus nodded and Janus sighed. "You've asked Roman to do the impossible, you know."
"No. I've asked him to do Virgil." Remus said seriously. Janus looked at Remus sceptically before he burst out laughing.
"Never a dull moment." He said, laughing a little quieter and picking up his book. Remus grinned and shook his head. "But the bet you and Roman made is completely one sided." Remus' grin grew wider as he nodded.
"Why else do you think I've made this bet?" He asked, laughing quietly.
"You just love to torture Roman, don't you?"
"He's a dick with no dick, I'm allowed to. Plus, he's my brother." Janus raised an eyebrow at Remus who sighed. "Do I want him to be happy? Yes. But he needs to come down from his high horse first. Then he can be happy."
"So that's what this bet is? A wake up call?" Janus asked sceptically. Remus nodded.
"Yep. Also, it's just so funny watching Roman try and get with Virgin. Like I said before, this is going to crash and burn."

Virgil quickly left the cinema, pulling his hood up over his ears and humming a tune from the film he'd just watched. Every week, his local cinema showed an old film. This week it had been Virgil's favourite musical, 'Kiss Me Kate'. Virgil didn't know why he liked the musical so much, it was just his favourite.
Someone ran past Virgil, knocking into his shoulder. They quickly turned around.
"Oh sorr- Virgil?"
Virgil looked up, forcing himself not to smile. "Hey Princey." He muttered.
"Why're you here?"
"I wasn't aware that it was illegal for me to watch a film."
"No, no, it's not that. I just didn't take you for the musical type."
Virgil smirked slightly. "There's a lot of stuff that you don't know about me, Roman, don't try and assume."
"I wasn't assuming." Roman protested quickly, keeping in-step with the emo who was trying to walk away from him. "I just-"
"Assumed that I didn't like musicals, yeah I gathered." Virgil finished, a bite to his tone. Roman back-tracked.
"I didn't- Know what, nevermind." Roman sighed. "Why are you so hard to be friends with?"
Virgil stopped and faced Roman. "Maybe it's not me that's the problem." He said icily. "Maybe if you actually bothered to learn what I like and tried to see past the image you have of me, we could actually be friends."
Virgil turned and stalked away, leaving Roman stunned and confused.
