Like her.

Since I moved...

Since I left her when we were kids...

The two words that made up my life was.....

Like...

Her.

When ever I looked at a woman...

Talked with them...

I subconsciously looked for that one quality.

Is...

She...

Like...

Her...

Does she smile like her...

Does she laugh like her...

Does she act like her...

Does she talk like her...

Is...

Her?

Lily was different. She was the polar opposite of Aphmau. Maybe, that was the allure of her, as cruel as it is to admit. 

Maybe—I thought if I tried to love someone so very different from her...

I could move on...

That backfired.

Right in my face.

And I will soon know—just by how much.

But at least I'm here—with Aphmau now...

....And I will do anything, to make her as happy as she deserves to be.

To see her smile.

I told Aphmau I was going out of town for a consult and that I would meet her in the X-Ray room afterwards.

As I was walking there, my footsteps echoing in the hallway of the hospital, I hear Katelyn yell at the top of her lungs at me with disheartening agony. 

"There! There he is!" She screeches, her eyes bloodshot—more distraught than I've ever seen her. 

Two police officers grab both my arms violently with zero hesitation, pinning me to the wall, forcing me to conform to tight, unwarranted handcuffs. 

What the—

"Katelyn, what's going on!?" I exclaim, my body slammed against the wall.

"You stay silent! You know what you did, you sick bastard!"

"Katelyn, I'm serious. What is going on?" I plead desperately, as I hear the click of handcuffs around my wrists.

"Don't play dumb! I can't believe you! What you did to Aphmau, you son of a bitch!"

What...
