"You know I love you Ocean," Ethan says to me

"And you know that I love you," I say to Ethan. I look at him. It was my last night in North Carolina before I go back to Los Angeles. We went to a park at night, we stood on the bridge that overlooks the river. Purple and blue lights light up the sides of the river and fairy lights were strung on tree branches. We both got boba and ate a nice little restaurant before that . Ethan and I were having our last date and we both knew what to do

"I'm gonna be staying here and I'm gonna be as busy as ever," Ethan says. He holds my hand as I leaned my head on his shoulders. His head rested on top mine

"And I'm going back to LA to pursue acting," I say to him. "We're thinking the same thing so why don't we just get it over with" Tears pricked my eyes

"I know I know. I just. . . I don't want this to happen but it needs to. Long distance won't work if we're both gonna be busy. Just promise me that we'll still be friends and if you visit, you'll visit me first" Ethan says to me

"I promise," I say. I let go of his hand and face him. I place my hand on his cheek before I place a small kiss on his lips. I pull away and hug him tightly. He hugged me back and we sat there for a while. We pull away from the hug and he kissed my forehead before we walked back to the car in silence. I knew we wouldn't be awkward but it would be sad to see him after this.
