3RD PERSON POV

Ocean had just gotten out of her 2nd job interview of the day, one at Disneyland and the other at Universal Studios when she got a call from Robert. She picked it up. "Hey, Rob what's up?" She was walking to her car. It was a windy day and her hair was flying all over the place. She tried to keep her hair out of her face but to no avail

"Hey O, what are you doing?" Robert asks. Over the one month, they've known each other, they had gotten really close. Right now, he was at Starkid Homecoming rehearsal and his lunch break was in 30 minutes and everyone wanted food from the same place but no one wanted to leave because they were all tired. Robert said that he could get a friend to pick up food for them and everyone agreed that would be a good idea 

"I'm about to go home or get food," Ocean says. "How about you?" She got into her car and set down her papers and started the car

"I'm at rehearsals for homecoming. My lunch break is coming up and everyone wants food but no one wants to leave. Do you think you could buy some food for us?" Robert asks. He expected her to say no but he hoped that she would say yes

Ocean sat back in her seat and thought for a moment. She thought about the pros and cons. Pros: She would get to see basically everyone in Starkid, Robert would owe her a favor and she would get to see Robert and Mariah. Cons: It's gonna cost a lot of money and she hates ordering food. After a minute of thinking, she made her decision. "Sure just send me when everyone wants. But you owe me big time," she says

"Thank you thank you. I swear I'll pay you back, literally and figuratively," Robert says. He gave a thumbs up to everyone in the room who was waiting for Ocean's answer. "I'll send you everyone's order. I'll see you later," He hung up and went to ask for everyone's order

Ocean set down her phone and sighed. What the fuck did she just ger herself into

TIME SKIP

Ocean had ordered a bunch of food that cost around $300. She got to the place where the rehearsals were being held. She had all the food in a big box and had each order labeled because she's extra like that and she thought it would be way easier to give everyone their food. She got out of her car and picked up the box. It was heavy but she could handle it

It was well into the lunch break and everyone was hungry. "Robert where's your friend with the food?" One person asked

"She'll be here soon," Robert says, he had faith in her that she would be there soon with the food

Ocean walked to the entrance of the building and opened the door. The receptionist there asked what she was going there. She explained what she was doing and the receptionist explained how to get to the room they were in. She thanked the receptionist before walking over to the room they're in

Robert who was going into the hallway to call Ocean saw her and immediately went to help her. "Why didn't you call me and ask for help?" He asked. He took the box from her and the two of them walked into the room

"Because I could have carried it to you guys myself," Ocean says

Once the two walked into the room everyone's face lit up with joy because the food had finally got there. Everyone got to their feet and walked over to the table set up where Robert put the food

Ocean realized she didn't have to be there anymore so she tapped Robert's shoulder and said, "Looks like my job here is done. I'm gonna go. Remember that you owe me for this," She started to walk away 

Mariah saw Ocean leaving and she snuck up behind her and hugged her. "Baby where are you going," She says. She had started calling Ocean baby or babe recently in the most platonic way ever

"I was here to just deliver food so I'm leaving," Ocean says. She turned around and hugged Mariah quickly. "You act like we don't live right next to each other," She laughed

"Yeah but I've been busy and I haven't seen you in like 5 days!" Mariah says. She held on tight to Ocean, her arms wrapped around her waist like they were dating

"Then let's have a movie night soon. Okay?" Ocean says. She squished Mariah's cheeks and smiled. "We can cuddle in a blanket and right before we can go to Target and buy a bunch of snacks and drinks," Just by saying all of those things, it made her excited

"Yes! We need to do that. How about tonight?" Mariah asks. Rehearsals ended at 6 pm so that is more than enough time to go home, shower, then go batshit crazy buying junk food at Target

Robert came up behind them, food in hand, and asked, "Can I join? I do owe you for getting everyone food so I can pay for everything," Though he did feel like he was being the third wheel to Mariah and Ocean

"Yeah sure, you can join!" Mariah says. She smiled and looked at a clock mounted on the wall. It was 3 pm, 2 more hours to go. "I should go to eat now. I'll see you soon," She gave Ocean one more hug before getting her food

Robert walked up to Ocean and ruffled her hair. "You look all prettied up. What's the occasion? Did you have your first date before this?" He says, pointing out Ocean's semi-formal outfit. "Or maybe you did that to impress everyone here. Or maybe you dressed like that to look nice for me. I'm very flattered," He chuckled

"No, I dressed like this because I went to a job interview. You said you work at Universal Studios so I decided to apply for a job at Disneyland. Oh yeah and Universal Studios too as a backup," Ocean says. "When when Disneyland hires me, you better get a pass so I can see you often when I'm at work. Or we can just mess around if Universal Studio decided they want me," She said it with so much confidence like she already had the job

"Yes ma'am," Robert says. His cheeks grew warm and had a completely smitten look on his face. Maybe it was the fact that she was acting so confident, the thought of the two of them seeing each other on shift, him having the wrong idea when she said they could 'mess around' on shift, or maybe him being able to distract Ocean when she's on shift at Disneyland possibly every week with his charms and good looks. Maybe all of the above

"Alright, I gotta run. See ya' later Rob," Ocean says. She went on her tippy toes and messed up Robert's hair to get him back. She smiled before walking away

Robert watched her walk away and for some reason, he just blurted out, "Let me walk you to your car," He wasn't aware of his volume until after when people within 3 feet looked at him before going back to their food. He walked up to Ocean and slung his arm around her shoulder

Ocean didn't mind and just kept walking, now with Robert's arm around her. "I'm excited for the movie night. I missed hanging out with you guys it's really been a few days since I've talked to you and seen Mariah in person," She played with her fingers as a nervous tick. She didn't really understand what the cause of her nervousness was

The two of them got outside and walked to Ocean's car which wasn't too far away. The wind had stopped blowing harshly. Once they got to the side of her car, the clouds move and the sun finally showed its face. And as if the gods above were blessing the too, a ray of sunshine shown down on him, highlighting both of their best features. For Robert, it was his beautiful blue eyes and his pale skin seemed to glow light a star in the night sky. And Ocean's eyes seemed to sparkle and her hair was perfectly shined

Robert was the first to notice how the sun changed the way Ocean looked. He stepped closer to her, his eyes focusing on her face. Ocean looked up at Robert once she realized his eyes were on her. They both saw each other's features in sharper focus. The sounds of the city were toned out and the only thing heard between the two was the sound of their beating hearts. Both of them started to lean closer to each other until their faces were a few inches away from each other 

Robert noticed the gap between them and decided to be the one to close it. He brought Ocean in for a sweet and loving kiss which was reciprocated a second after. The world seemed to slow around them. It seemed cliche but it was true

When Ocean felt Robert's lips of hers, she was shocked at first but soon found herself closing her eyes and wrapping her arms around his neck as she melted into the kiss. She finally realized why she was so nervous around him

It was simply just because of him

After around 20 seconds, they pulled away much to each other's disappointment. After the kiss, the two didn't exchange any words. Ocean just smiled before walking to the driver's side of the car and getting in

Robert also smiled at let out a small chuckle. When Ocean started to move away, he started to walk back into the building, almost slamming into the door. Both of them were flustered beyond belief. But they had composed themselves before going back to their own business

But the warm feeling from the kiss stayed with them
