(A/N: Btw in this story, Mariah and Matt aren't a thing and  feel like this has to bring up before this chapter specifically)

(UPDATE: Aparently, Mariah is pansexual. It was hinted at with the emojis and response to comments in her recent Instagram post! I'll be changing some details in the chapters!)

3RD PERSON POV

Ocean had gotten home 2 hours ago and had since changed clothes. She wore black leggings and the same working boys sweater she gave Robert over a month ago. She washed it but for some reason, it still smelled like Robert. Maybe she was imagining it though because of what happened a few hours ago. She quickly grabbed her small black crossbody purse and stuffed her wallet and keys inside it as well as some gum and a portable charger 

A knock at the door caused Ocean to jump a bit. She quickly composed herself and put on her purse before walking to the door and opening it. It was both Mariah and Robert. "Hey, guys. Should we start heading to Target now?" Ocean asks

"Yup!" Mariah cheerfully says. She was wearing gray sweats and a black and a black and white striped long-sleeved shirt

Robert simply nodded. He wore black sweats, a white graphic tee, and a black denim jacket. Along with a black hat to hide his cute hair floof. To normal eyes, it seemed like it was nothing but to Ocean he couldn't bee more perfect

"Alright let's take my car," Ocean says. She stepped into the hallway of her apartment building and locked the door. She smiled the two before they headed to Ocean's car, with a little conversation and laughs along the way

TIME SKIP

The trio entered Target and Robert got a cart. They all immediately went to the candy aisle. When it was movie night you know you gotta get the good stuff. They got sour patch kids watermelon (the best version of sour patch kids), Twix, M&M's, and other candies and chocolates. Next was the chip aisle, where Ocean and Mariah chose 1 bag each. A bag of Boom Chicka Pop popcorn, and one bag of Sea Salt Kettle brand chips

Robert was basically the person who prevented Ocean and Mariah from buying too much. He was getting a little antsy to have another moment alone with Ocean so he had an idea. "Hey, Mariah can you go pick out a bottle or two of soda for us while Ocean and I go get some fruit roll-ups?" Robert asks Mariah

Mariah shrugged and agreed before heading off to go get some soda

Robert looked at Ocean and smirked. "Hey cutie," He said. He walked over to Ocean and wrapped an arm around her waist. "So about what we did earlier. . ."

"I liked it. A lot," Ocean cut him off. her cheeks were bright red

"Me too," Robert also blush but for him, it was more of a pink tint on his cheeks. "Can we do it again?"

Ocean didn't respond but instead placed a small and tender kiss on his lips

Robert immediately kissed back. This was different. It felt needier instead of new and exciting like the last kiss. He pulled away and they both smiled

Ocean smiled back before saying, "So, what are we now?"

"I don't. . . I don't know?" Robert started. "Are you ready for a new relationship. He respected Ocean and didn't want to ask her out if she wasn't ready yet

"I'm not sure. It's been a month since I broke up with my last boyfriend. And this is kinda sudden. Yes, I do like you but do I really like like you? I mean when we kiss I feel great but is this really right? You're five years older than me and we met one month ago. But should that really matter?" Ocean rambled

Robert listened to her and agreed with some points. "Should our age difference really matter? And I understand what you mean when you talk about how we barely know each other. I'll give you time to think. But know that I like you," He kissed her forehead with a smile

Ocean smiled at him and was grateful to have someone like him in her life. "We should go get those fruit roll-ups though," She grabbed his hand and went to get a box of fruit roll-ups

TIME SKIP

The trio decided to have their movie night at Robert and Jon's house. Then Ocean would just give Mariah a ride home or they can stay over (with permission from Jon of course) if needed. They all got out of the car, bags filled to the brim with snacks

Robert unlocked the door of his house and called out for Jon. "Jon!" he walked into the house, Ocean and Mariah following behind. "I'm back and I have snacks! Oh and 2 girl idiots that for some reason I call friends!"

Ocean and Mariah looked at each other. They both rolled their eyes at Robert's remark before stifling a laugh

Jon appeared, coming from the kitchen. "What's up guys," He looked at the bags they were holding. "Holy shit how much stuff did you guys get?" He exclaimed in surprise

"Enough to give the 4 of us a sugar high that lasts until dawn," Ocean says

"Yup!" Mariah agrees

"Jon you and Mariah can go get extra blankets and Ocean and I can go put all this candy and snacks in bowls or something," Robert says

Jon led Mariah to a hallway closet and brought out large fluffy blankets that look like they're meant for 2 people and cuddling

Robert and Ocean got out bowls and cups and poured out the snacks. Then they placed the bowls on the table. Then they unpacked a pack of soda and set a couple of cans next to the snacks

Once all 4 of them were in the living room. They all sit down. Mariah on the edge with Ocean between her and Robert. Then Jon sat next to Robert. Ocean and Mariah shared a blanket while Robert and Jon had their own blanket

"What do you guys wanna watch?" Jon asked, remote in hand. He was scrolling through Netflix

"Let's watch a horror movie!" Mariah suggested. "Maybe IT or some other Stephen King movie?" 

"Or a Disney movie. We can just belt out every single song and annoy our neighbors," Robert suggested

"I'm fine with anything," Ocean says

"That definitely helped thank you Ocean," Jon said

"Hey, no problem dude," Ocean laughed

Jon ended up putting on a Disney movie. Specifically Moana. The 4 of them ended up singing the beginning of Moana off key on purpose. Robert recited his lines as Professor Hidgens as a joke. Once Moana was over they put on a horror movie just because. Mostly everyone was unphased, only the occasional jump and shudder but Ocean was scared. She had a love-hate relationship with horror movies. Though she was okay with certain ones there were those select few movies that just got to her. And one of the horror movies she could not handle just so happened to be the one they were watching

Most of the movie Ocean was holding Mariah by the waist under the blanket. During really scary parts she would hide her face in Mariah's shoulder. She also tried to distract herself by looking in a bowl of sour patch kids watermelons but it didn't help. She could still hear the screams and gruesome noises. That alone caused her to shudder

Mariah who wasn't so affected by it, but knew how scared Ocean was, was sure to keep her close

TIME SKIP

The 4 ended up watching 2 more movies before they all started to feel a bit tired. "Jon and I will clean up here. You two should get going if you don't wanna sleepover," Robert says. He stood up and started to collect empty bowls and cups

"Come on Ocean I'll drive," Mariah says. She was not as tired as Ocean who was close to falling asleep. She shook Ocean to try and wake her up

Ocean stood up and stretched. "Thanks for having us over," She says to Robert and Jon. She went over and hugged them both

"Hey, it's no problem. We should this more often and maybe invite more people next time," Jon says. He patted Ocean's head as if she was his little sister. "Make sure to take the leftover snacks," 

Mariah picked up the bag that still had some unopened bags of candy and a half-full bag of chips. She also slung Ocean's bag over her shoulder so she could easily get her keys

After saying their goodbyes, Ocean and Mariah left Jon and Robert's house. Mariah drove the car so Ocean could rest in the passenger's seat. At red lights, Mariah would look at Ocean to check on her. Once back at the apartment building, Mariah parked and woke up Ocean. She ended up giving her a piggyback ride to her apartment but Mariah didn't mind

Ocean got down from Mariah's back and took back her bag so she could get her apartment key. Before Ocean walked into her apartment Mariah grabbed her arm. So she looked at Mariah

Mariah held both of Ocean's hands and said in a soft voice that she only used with Ocean, "Hey, I just want you to know that I'll always be there for you. If you ever get scared just go to me, I'll comfort you and stay by your side for however long you want. Because I care about you Ocean. And it's crazy cause I've never cared about someone else so much before,"

Ocean looked up at Mariah. She smiled at her. "I know you will Mariah. That's why I love you! You're like one of my best friends!" She still had that childlike nativity to her. "Everything you said, that's how I feel about you. I'm always here for you,"

"No! You don't understand. When I say I love you. I-" Mariah cut herself off them. She tried to keep her voice down since most people would be sleeping by then. "When I say I love you I mean more than a friend. I don't know why I just do,"

Ocean looked at her confused. "What? Aren't you straight?" She had just played it off as if it was a joke or something out of the blue and it would be something they could laugh about later

"I'm not! I'm pansexual! And I like you!" Mariah says. She had caught feelings for Ocean way back in high school and they began to resurface recently. But now they were stronger. And she wanted to do something about it. Mariah cupped Ocean's face and placed a small and short kiss on her lips

Ocean felt Mariah's lips on hers and she just broke. She didn't know what to do. Who did she like? Robert or Mariah? She had felt the love and passion when she kissed Robert but when she kissed Mariah, it was new and exciting. What was she doing?

Mariah pulled away and immediately steeped away. "I'm sorry," she says. She quickly rushed into her apartment without another word, leaving Ocean in the hallway confused and a blushing mess

A/N: Alright so, should Ocean have a poly relationship with Robert and Mariah or just date Robert? (By that I mean Mariah and Robert are dating Ocean but Robert and Mariah aren't dating each other) Please comment!
