3RD PERSON POV

December 9, 2019

3:00 pm

Robert and Ocean sat down on his bed. The two of them had been talking and hanging out before Ocean officially left for Las Vegas. She finished her errands early and wanted to stop by Robert's house early to chat. "I'm gonna miss you," Robert frowned. He knew that Ocean's ex was gonna be there and he was scared that her ex would take her away from him before he even got to ask her out officially. He took off the jacket he was wearing. As per Ocean's request, he wore one of his jackets for most of the day before she got there so it would smell like him. He handed the jacket to her. He gently placed his hand in hers

"I will text you every day when I'm there! And if you want I could bring you back something. Plus, there is nothing to be afraid of!" Ocean reassured him as she put on the obviously oversized jacket. "By the way, why are you so worried about me going to Las Vegas?" She let the oversized sleeves of Robert's jacket fall over her free hand

"U- uh," Robert stuttered. "I'm just nervous that something might happen to you. Las Vegas is full of drunken idiots and I'm worried someone might grab you or something. . ." He lied right through his teeth. He knew Ocean was fully capable of protecting herself from people like that

Ocean let out a small laugh. "Don't worry, I am trained in self-defense and know how to break someone's nose if need be," She said. "But it's sweet that you're concerned for me. . ." She looked happily over at Robert

Robert let out a sigh. "I know you are. . ." He paused for a quick second. "You look good in my jacket. I guess I'll see you when you get back!" He let go of Ocean's hand and turned to her. "I love you Ocean. . ."

"I love you too," Ocean smiled at Robert. "I promise I'll be safe, text you every night, call you when I can, and get you something," She kissed his cheek. "The 13th. I'll see you on the 13th," She reminded him. She was planning on going directly to Robert's house when she got back to LA

"The 13th got it," Robert repeated. "Can I get one last kiss before you go?" He asked with a pouty lip. When he saw Ocean nod her head, he quickly captured her lips and gave her a sweet and quick kiss, still knowing that Ocean had to leave soon

Ocean pulled away after a few seconds and got off of his bed. "Walk me out?" She got a nod of acceptance from Robert before she grabbed his hand and walked outside with him. She got into her car and rolled down the passenger seat window for Robert to say some final words

"Bye Ocean! I'll miss you!" Robert said from the sidewalk. He waved, a sad expression apparent on his face. A little bit of worry seeped into his expression as the ends of his eyebrows dropped down

"Bye Robert!" Ocean blew a kiss to him before rolling up her window and driving off. Her heart ached to be apart from him, even if they weren't technically dating. But, she did have a huge feeling of happiness and excitement growing in her stomach which caused her stomach to do backflips. She was gonna see her childhood friend after being apart for only 5 months

(A/N: Alright so this is connected to the MrBeast x Reader FF I made. I was originally gonna put (Y/N) but I think it would've been more confusing. So instead of putting (Y/N), I'm just putting Maddy to be Ocean's childhood friend :) )

TIME SKIP

10:30 pm

Ocean and Maddy sat next to each other catching up on everything going on in their lives, drinks in hand as they giggled like those teens in movies at a sleepover. Maddy nudged Ocean's arm and directed her eyes across the room, telling Ocean to look too

Ocean looked across the room and saw Ethan and Bailey talking. After a few seconds, Ethan and Bailey looked at her before quickly looking away. "Oh shit. . ." She muttered. "Is he? You know. . . Still into me?" She asked Maddy

"Oh yeah, he so is. One time, I caught him looking at your Instagram instead of editing Jimmy's video. And do you mind telling me who that guy is on your Instagram?" Maddy asked, intrigued to know more about this boy who seems to be dating her best friend

"Robert? He's from Starkid. He's really cute and kind and amazing in. . ." Ocean snapped out of her dream-like state from talking about Robert. "And he's just a friend!" She awkwardly smiled and looked away, a blush spread across her cheeks

"Why haven't you asked him out yet?" Maddy asked, taking a sip of her drink. She was gonna get every single amount of information about Ocean's love life so far before the end of the trip if it's the last thing she does

"It's because of Mariah, I don't know if it's appropriate for us to go out considering the amount of time between now and when I broke up with Mariah. She looked down at her lap. "Though Mariah said it's okay, I just wanna wait because I'm afraid people are gonna call me horrible names and cancel me,"

"I'm sure that can be fixed by simply telling people on your Instagram the truth. They'll understand if they're true fans," Maddy said. She set down both hers and Ocean's cup on the table. She gave her a big hug before pulling away after a minute. "Let's go have fun," She pulled Ocean off the couch and they went off to have fun

TIME SKIP

December 10, 2019

9:00 am

Ocean put on the jacket Robert gave her and started to brush her hair. She looked in the mirror and smiled at herself, seeing the jacket on her. She set down her hairbrush and brought some of the fabric to her nose. She smiled as she took in the scent she didn't realize the missed

"I know that is not your jacket," Maddy said, coming up behind Ocean. "Is that Robert's?" She asked, insinuating his name. She chuckled and smirked. She crossed her arms and leaned against the bathroom wall

Ocean nodded. She smiled to herself as she looked at the jacket. She would gladly take all of his jackets since he barely wore any anymore. Plus she liked his arms. "Oh, sorry. I've been hogging the bathroom haven't I," She walked out. "I'll see you at breakfast,"

Maddy waved before closing the bathroom door and doing whatever she does to get ready in the morning

Ocean walked out of the room and saw Ethan down the hall. The two looked at each other. Ocean shyly waved at him and started walking towards him, a little nervous as to what he's gonna say to her

Ethan slightly panicked on the inside when she started to walk towards him. "Breakfast?" He asked, mentally facepalming when that was the first thing he said to her in a while. "I- I mean. . . Are you getting breakfast too?"

Ocean nodded as she walked with him into the elevator. She pressed the button for the lobby and played with her jacket sleeves. "We didn't get to talk to each other last night, did we? So, what's up with your life? Mine has been all over social media," She let out a small laugh

"Oh yeah, I saw you were in a musical. You finally did it," Ethan smiled. "I've just been doing my job, editing videos and stuff. I missed you," He said truthfully. His cheeks were tinted with a light pink blush

"I missed you too! I missed North Carolina too. I made so many good memories there. But I'll always love being in LA," Ocean walked out of the elevator once it got to the first floor. "I have a nice job, I'm friends with my idols, I'm with my family again. It's great there. I like North Carolina and all, but I'm not a North Carolina girl," It was true, she felt a little out of place there

"Well, everyone missed you. Maddy especially. That's the longest you've apart since what? Elementary?" Ethan asked as he walked into the breakfast buffet with Ocean

"Yup," Ocean mutters. She sits down with the others and greets the others. "Good morning everyone," She gave them all a warm smile. Today was definitely gonna be a very long day for her

TIME SKIP

December 12, 2019

9:00 pm

Ocean walked around the city with the others. She was trailing behind the group with Ethan. After a few minutes, Maddy yawned. "Hey guys, do you want to head back to the hotel room now?" She asked the group. The group decided to go back to the hotel

RIght before Ocean walked into the doors of the hotel, Ethan whispered in her ears. "Meet me in the lobby after everyone falls asleep in your room. Wear something nice," He looked at her before catching up with the others

Confused, Ocean just catches up with the others. She went along with everything as normal until 11. She put on her sleeping clothes and climbed into bed. She closed her eyes and pretended to go to sleep

When she heard absolute silence, she got up. She looked around and made sure everyone was asleep. After checking, she walked into the bathroom with a spare set of clothes. She changed into them quickly and quietly, making sure to also fix her hair a bit. After finishing, she grabbed her phone and purse and headed out

In the lobby, Ethan was waiting for her. He was wearing a leather jacket he bought over a tie-dye shirt and some black pants. He approached Ocean. "Follow me," He held his hand out for Ocean to take. He smiled at her

Ocean hesitated for a bit before taking it. She was led through The Strip until she ended up in front of a black building with rainbow lights. The large, red neon sign read, "Sin City" In the front of the door were 2 bouncers letting people in

Ethan lined up with Ocean behind some very energetic women. It didn't take long for them to get into the club. Once inside, Ethan leads Ocean to a table. "Hey, do you want a drink?" He asked, loud enough for her to hear over the music

Ocean nodded. She watched Ethan go off to the bar. She leaned against the table. She looked out onto the dance floor. She hummed along to the song playing before someone leaned on the table next to her

"Hey, baby, are you here alone here or what?" A man smirked. "Someone as pretty as you surely must have someone,"

"No, I'm not alone," Ocean scoffs. She turned away from the man, hoping that he'd go away if she just didn't show any interest in his advances

"Come on, just cause you came here with someone, doesn't mean you can't leave with someone else," He placed a hand on hers. "I got a hotel room over at The Venetian. We can head over there and get to know each other,"

Ocean sighed. She put on a fake smile. "You are just one hell of a charmer! And not to mention, a handsome face" She giggled. Her smiled dropped. "So, I'm gonna give you ten seconds to scram or you won't be able to use your left arm for weeks," She crackled her knuckles

The man scoffed. "Ya, you don't scare me, short stack," He crossed his arms with a smirk. "The worst you could do to me is give me a tiny little boo-boo!" He laughed as he continued to tease

Ocean yawned before grabbing his arm and twisting it behind his back. She glared at him. "What did I say?" She asked in an intimidating way. "I thought this was a club, not a pig farm,"

The man cried out in pain before Ocean released him. He quickly ran off with his friends 

Ethan came back and asked, "What happened?" He handed her a drink.  He placed his hand on her shoulder

"Thank you, it was just some creep," Ocean sighed. She took a sip of the drink and looked out onto the dance floor like nothing happened. She would be sure to tell Robert about this later

Through the entire night, she felt Ethan's eyes on her. It was only when they left the bar, his focus shifted. The two found themselves in front of the Fountains of Bellagio. Ethan turned to Ocean. "Hey,"

Ocean looked at him. "Hi," She responded. She felt his hand lift her chin up so she met his eyes. She griped on tighter to her purse

"You look happier than before. Tell me, is this because of a new person?" Ethan asked, he bit the inside of his cheek. He felt stupid that he even considered breaking up with her. He was still in love with her and thought that it was unfair that she moved on

"No. Being in LA finally gave me freedom. I can finally do what I want with my life, dress how I want, go where I want," Ocean told him. "I can live my own lifestyle without the need for my parents' approval. My happiness isn't connected to a man,"

"Does that mean you weren't happy with me?" Ethan gritted his teeth. He didn't want the time he with her to be considered a waste of time

"N- No! I was happy with you!" Ocean reassured him. "It's just that. I don't need to rely on someone else for my happiness," She sighed. She pulled away from Ethan's touch and turned to look at the fountain and the lights

"The reason I wanted to take out tonight is. . ." Ethan started. "I wanted to ask if you'd be mine again. We could work out long distance or I could move to LA!" He grabbed Ocean's hands. "We can make this work again,"

Ocean's features softened. "I- I'm so sorry. I- I can't. . . I don't have someone, but I have m- mutual romantic feelings for someone back home," She confessed. "I can't just give up on them. They mean a lot to me," She sighed

"Ah, sorry for asking. Well, it was worth a shot," Ethan sighed. "Should I walk you back to the hotel?" He asked. When he backed away from her, he held his hand out for her to possibly take so he can lead her back to her room

"You go ahead. I'll see you at breakfast," Ocean politely waved as she watched Ethan walk away. She knew that he was sad, but she couldn't just get back together with him if she didn't truly love him. It wouldn't be fair to him. She looked at the fountain as she wondered, would she ever stop having love problems? She kept thinking for a little while longer before walking back to the hotel. On the way there, she left Robert a voicemail, "Hey Robert. I know it's really late, but I just wanted to say. I miss you. And I'm sorry if I ever hurt you. I'll see you soon, Bye," Ocean looked at the bright lights of Las Vegas one more time before she went back to her room
