3RD PERSON POV

Ocean was finally back in LA and was heading straight for Robert's apartment. She was wearing a white skirt, a black shirt, and Robert's old jean jacket. She had a big smile on her face when she pulled into his street. She parked a little far from Robert's apartment. She got out, grabbed her bag, and texted Robert to go outside. She started to run

Robert walked outside and looked around for what Ocean told him to go outside for. When he looked to his right, he saw Ocean outside and gasped. He started to run to her, his arms open to her. When he finally got to her, he pulled his in for a big hug. He picked her up and spun her around

Ocean let out a laugh as she put her arms around his neck. "I missed you so much!" She was set back down on the ground. She removed her arms around his neck. "I couldn't wait to see you so I just came straight here when I got back to LA,"

"Tell me all about your trip when we get inside. I think it's about to rain," Robert pointed to the sky that had gray storm clouds approaching above them. He grabbed Ocean's hand and led her back inside his apartment just as it started to sprinkle

Ocean looked around at the familiar space, it made her happy to know she's back in her second home. She looked at Jon who was sitting on a barstool, talking to someone?

Jon noticed Ocean and waved at her. He got out of his seat and said, "Welcome back little sis," He gave her a big hug before rustling her hair. "Hey, Paislee come over here!" He behind him and at an unfamiliar blonde woman

The woman who seemed to be the Paislee Jon was talking about, walked into the living room. "I didn't know you had a little sister," Paislee said in a British accent. She walked over to Ocean and held out her hand for her to shake. "My name is Paislee Ann Phillips,"

Ocean shook her hand. "Hi, my name is Ocean Kaneko and I'm not actually his little sister. He just acts like my older brother," She laughed awkwardly before going to Robert's side. She felt his hand slip into hers

"Ocean and I are gonna go catch up, have fun you two," Robert pulled Ocean towards the direction of his room. He closed and locked the door, leaving Jon and Paislee alone in the living room

"Are the two of them dating?" Paislee asked, hearing the sound of the lock clicking. "And, should we leave? They seem like they're about to do something we shouldn't be here for," She looked at Jon

Jon nodded. "I think we should," He grabbed his keys and called out to Robert. "I'm going out with Paislee! We'll be back later!" He received a simple, "Okay" as a response. He walked out of his apartment with Paislee and went somewhere

Inside Robert's room, Ocean put her bag on the floor before sitting down on Robert's bed and swung her legs. She watched Robert turn to her after locking the door. She started to blush when he walked towards her

Robert took off the jacket he was wearing and threw it on the floor. He placed his hands on Ocean's waist, his face was inches away from Ocean's. "Now that we're alone. You can tell me everything about your trip," He pulled away and sits next to Ocean

Ocean's face was beet red from what just happened. She fumbled her words for a bit before composing herself. "Well, I got to go to some amazing restaurants and raves. OH! And I got you something. Sorry, it's pretty shitty," She rummaged through her bag before pulling out a small magnet picture with the words 'Las Vegas' on it, accompanied by pictures of hotels

"This is the most stereotypical souvenir ever," Robert laughed. "I love it," He took the magnet and placed a kiss on Ocean's cheek. "What picture should I put in here?" He thought for a bit, though he knew he wanted a picture of him and Ocean

"I gotchu covered," Ocean took out 3 pictures from a smaller pocket in her bag. The first picture was of Ocean next to a photoshopped Robert, standing in front of some lights in the Chandelier Bar. The second picture was of Ocean posing in front of the Trevi Fountain, but every statue had Robert's face photoshopped onto it. The last picture was of Ocean with red eyes, leaning on a table with Robert photoshopped behind her holding his thumbs up

Robert looked at the last one and burst out laughing. "Holy shit that's so good!" He placed the last picture inside the frame. After inspecting it further, he asked, "How did you get your eyes to be so red?" He had his suspicion that she could've been crying

"Oh, heh, I might've gotten drunk and started crying because I was single," Ocean nervously chuckled after saying that. "My super nice friend decided to take a picture of me during that and it was not one of my finest  moments,"

"What else did you do?" Robert leaned in intently, wanting to know more. Especially if her ex tried to get all flirty with her again 

"I did some shopping and saw some cool sights. And on the last night, I snuck out with my ex," Ocean hesitated to say the last part. "We talked, went to a club, I had a good time, all things considered,"

"What did you two talk about?" Robert asked. As he predicted, he was jealous at the mention of her ex. But, at least she isn't dating him again. They just talked. Robert took a few seconds to calm down

"Oh, just catching up. He told me that he still loved me and wanted to get back together," Ocean looked down at her lap. "But. . . I told him I already had someone back home," She looked up at Robert and smiled

Robert blushed when Ocean looked at him. After a moment of looking at each other, they both laughed. "Hey. . . I realized that we never officially went on a date together. Do you. . . wanna go and do that?"

"Hmmm, where would you take me?" Ocean asked, even though she would say yes to the date any day. She crossed her legs and propped her arm up on her leg. She gave him a smirk that was borderline flirtatious

"Oh. . . Uhm. . . I'm sorry I don't know. There are so many things we could do. But I don't know which ones would make you happy and have fun," Robert said. "If this is gonna be our first official date, shouldn't it be memorable?"

Ocean's features softened. She reached out and held Robert's cheek with her right hand. "You know that I will always have fun when I'm around you," She kissed his cheek. "I need to go now. I'll see you soon. Text me the details when you figure them out," 

Robert gave her a small smile. "Can I get a hug?" He asked as Ocean stood up from his bed. He didn't have to look too far up because he was nearly Ocean's height when sitting down

Ocean nodded and opened her arms to Robert to go into. When she felt the familiar feeling of Robert's warm body against her, she blushed. It was one of her favorite feelings in the whole world

Robert had his arms around Ocean's waist as he rested his chin on her shoulder. He knew exactly what he was gonna do after his date with her. He was finally gonna grow a pair and ask her out. Even though there was a high chance she'll say yes

After a few more minutes of silence, Ocean spoke up, "I gotta go. I'll see you later Rob," She pulled from the hug and gave him a kiss on the forehead. She left after Robert walked her to the door

TIME SKIP

December 29, 2019

5:30 pm

Ocean finished wiping a glass before slinging the towel over her shoulder. She set the cup down and looked at the big clock on the wall. "I'm clocking out. Night guys," She threw the towel into the bin with the other towels that need to be washed. She grabbed her bag from the breakroom and clocked out for the day

After a 10 minute drive to her apartment, Ocean got out of her car and rushed to her apartment. It was Robert's birthday and she was already 40 minutes late to his party. Even though she told Robert that she was gonna be late because of work she still felt bad

When Ocean got into her apartment, she set down her bag and immediately went to change into a black long-sleeved dress, a brown belt, white lace socks, black ankle boots, and a white crossbody purse

After getting dressed, Ocean grabbed a bag containing Robert's gift and walked out of her apartment, locking the door after her. In the bag was a handmade black hat and bomber jacket. The hat had the words, 'Heart ROBber' embroidered in small letters. The bomber jacket was navy blue and came with 2 patches on the side so Robert can place them wherever he wants and so he can add more patches as time goes on

TIME SKIP

6:20 pm

Ocean got out of her car and headed towards Robert's apartment. She heard laughing from inside. 30 seconds after she knocked the door was opened by Jon. He welcomed her in and led her over to Robert who was talking to Lauren and Joey

When Jon tapped Robert's shoulder, he turned around and immediately spotted Ocean. "Oh hey! You're finally here!" He pulled her in for a hug, lifting her up slightly in the process

When she was set down, Ocean said, "Sorry I'm late," She handed him his gift. "I got you a little something. Happy Birthday," She gave him a smile that made his heart race while he took the gift from her hand

The party progressed and is now in the middle of a Mario Kart tournament. At the moment, Jon, Jeff, Lauren, and Joey were going against each other. Ocean sat down on the floor next to Paislee

"So, let me get this straight. You and Robert aren't in a relationship yet? And you haven't even gone on an official date? Well, that's just hogwash!" Paislee said. She made sure that only Ocean could hear her. "Why haven't you two gotten into a relationship yet!" 

"I just haven't been ready for a relationship. . ." Ocean confessed. "I feel like I made the mistake of not being able to resist him when he made a move on me," She sighed. "But at this point, I don't want what I have with him to end. It's just really confusing,"

Paislee looked back at the TV and saw Jon got first place. She saw Jon look at her with a cute smile. Paislee gave him a thumbs up and returned the smile. The two stared at each other for a little bit before Jon turned his attention back to the TV

"What's your relationship with Jon exactly? I know that look," Ocean gasps. "You like Jon!" She quietly exclaimed. She smiled excitedly

"SHHHH!" Paislee panicked slightly when Ocean figured it out. "Don't tell him! Please! We've been friends for so long, I can't just ask him out or tell him that I like him. It'll ruin everything we built. Plus, he hasn't told me anything, but he has to have a girlfriend. . . Right? He's so cool and kind and he just can't be single,"

"W- well I do know he went on a date a few months back. But he said it didn't go that well. So, I'm pretty sure he doesn't," Ocean reassured her. She nervously patted her back. "He looks really smitten around you," She smiled

"You think?" Paislee looked at Jon who was now going against Robert, Lauren, and Nick. "I might just hang back for a while. See things myself," She sighed and continued to watch the Mario Kart game go on, silently hoping Jon will win so he can give her the same cute smile

TIME SKIP

11:00 pm

Ocean stayed behind to help clean up the house after the party. She finished sweeping up and throwing away the last of the confetti. She picked up her bag and retired her shoes. She walked back over to Robert who was putting away leftovers food. "Hey, I'm gonna go now. Happy Birthday," She kissed his cheek

"Wait, you don't want to stay over?" Robert asked. He kissed her cheek and tucked some of her hair behind her ear before whispering in her ear. "We can cuddle and watch some Netflix. Maybe have some 'fun' too?" He chuckled in a deep voice

Ocean blushed. "I don't have clothes packed," She stepped away from Robert. "Maybe another day," She suggested. She fiddled with her fingers as she thought about what Paislee and her were talking about. She decided that she should probably wait to do all the romantic stuff after they are officially a couple

"I can lend you some if you want," Robert suggested. He looked at her face and saw that she was a little uncomfortable. "Or we can just do that another day. Thanks for the present," He pulled her in for a quick hug

It made Ocean comfortable that he respected her choice. "No problem," She said as she hugged him back. When they pulled from the hug, she ran a hand through her hair. "When do you wanna do that date?" She asked

"Are you free tomorrow?" Robert asked. He knew he had to take her on a date soon or she might lose interest in her. "Or you can choose the date if you want. I already figured out something we can do," 

"Tomorrow is good. I'll see you tomorrow I guess," Ocean smiled wide, knowing this will finally happen. "Just text me what I should wear," 

"Alright," Robert nodded. He grabbed Ocean's hand. "Hopefully after our date, you might rethink things," He placed a small kiss on her knuckles. "Just maybe," He whispered against her hand before lowering it and letting Ocean slip her hand out of his

Ocean knew exactly what he meant. She chuckled. "Maybe I already have rethought some things," She teased him. "I gotta go now. I"ll see you tomorrow," She waved before leaving his house
