I'm so sad that Andy Lincoln is leaving though! Although I have a theory behind that. I choose not to share though until I have all my thoughts worked out about it!
Thank you for all the love and support on my stories! I am loving that my stories are no longer private because all these readers are coming out of hiding now! Don't be shy! We don't bite! We would love to hear from you! I think @JFarley is getting sick of talking to herself! Lol!

"Wow," Denny and I breathed at the same time causing us both to chuckle. "You look beautiful," he said. I smiled. "Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself," I said. Denny gestured back towards his truck which I saw was now parked in my driveway.
"Are we ready to go?" he asked me. I nodded and grabbed a jacket not knowing where we were going. He held out his arm for me which I gladly took as we walked down my porch. Denny walked around his truck to the passenger side and opened the door for me. He was such a gentleman. His eyes locked with mine and he smiled as I slid into the seat.
He shut the door gently and made his way around to the driver side and hopped in the truck. "So, where are we headed?" I asked as Denny backed his truck out of my driveway and pointed it towards town. He reached over and grabbed my hand gently in his.
"It's a surprise," he said. I chuckled. "I don't like surprises," I said. Denny looked over at me. "Well, you'll like this one," he said ending it with a wink. The conversation ended on a light note as some soft jazz music filled his truck. It had stopped raining for once it seemed.
Soon Denny was turning into the parking lot of a local Italian restaurant and he put the truck in park. He pulled my hand to his lips. "Stay here," he said while kissing the back of my hand and squeezing it lightly before jumping out of the truck and making his way into the restaurant.
I placed my jacket in my lap and fiddled with the radio dial wondering if he would be upset if I changed the radio station. I decided to leave it where it was and sit back in my seat. I was nervous. Sure, him and I had had countless conversations together but somehow this felt different.
Soon I saw Denny walking out of the restaurant with a couple of bags in his hand. He jumped back in the truck and sat the two bags between us. "Okay," he breathed as he started the truck and pulled out of the parking lot. I slowly reached for one of the bags to look inside when Denny grabbed my hand again stopping me from looking inside of them.
"So where are we headed?" I asked him as I watched out the window at some familiar twists and turns he was taking. "I hope you don't mind eating outside. But I wanted something a little more intimate. I didn't want to eat in a stuffy old restaurant," he said.
I smiled and continued looking out the window until I watched as Denny pulled into a small local park. It was close to seven at night. The sun was just starting to set as we got out of the car. "Will you get the blanket from the back?" Denny asked as he grabbed what I assumed was the food out of the front.
I nodded and reached over the front seat to grab the blanket that was sitting in the back seat. I shut the door and followed Denny to a well lit area under a tree. Denny grabbed the blanket out of my hands and spread it out before gesturing for me to sit down.
I sat down as Denny sat across from me and started pulling food out of the bags. "I know this isn't fine china at a sit down restaurant with a fancy table cloth and candles lit in the middle of it, but I thought this would be better than eating in a crowded restaurant trying to talk over a bunch of people," Denny said as he handed me a take out container along with a fork.
I opened it and chuckled at the spaghetti inside. "It's perfect," I said as I dug into my food. It was quiet between us as we ate. Denny pulled out a bottle of wine and popped the cork on it. "How are we supposed to drink that?" I asked him seeing that we didn't have any cups.
Denny tipped the bottle to his lips and took a long drink making me crack a giggle before handing the bottle over to me. I took a sip of it before handing it back to Denny and digging back into my food. "This food is delicious," Denny said. I nodded in response.
"Yeah, they have some of the best food in town," I said as I closed the take out container and pushed it to the side. I grabbed the wine bottle from Denny again. I took a long drink and held onto the bottle as Denny finished his food. Soon he pushed his to the side as well.
Denny grabbed the bottle from me and took another long drink from it before tossing it to the side. "It's empty?!" I asked him. Denny chuckled. "It wasn't a big bottle of wine," he said letting out a giggle. I could tell he was a little buzzed as was I.
Denny laid back on the blanket and patted the spot beside him. "Come lay with me," he said softly. I scooted closer to him and laid down beside him. I let my hands rest on my stomach as we both stared up at the sky. The stars were breathtaking.
"You know, I don't bite," Denny said. I looked over at him to see his eyes already on me. "Come here," he said while holding out his arm. I gladly sat up and cuddled into his side and laid my head on his chest. His hands were cold. I could feel them through my sweater.
"Are you warm enough?" I asked him. Denny's chuckle rumbled against my head through his chest. "What's so funny?" I asked him. I lifted my head off his chest so I could look at him. "I think I should be the one asking you that question," he said with a smile.
"I've just noticed in the times that we've been together that your hands are always cold," I said. Denny sighed a little. "I stay cold. I don't know why, but I've always been like this. I don't notice it as much now, but I guess when I get around new people they notice it," he said.
"You should probably go to the doctor about that. Something might be wrong," I said. Denny smiled weakly. "Yeah, I probably should," he said before it fell silent between the two of us again. I laid my head back down on his chest and enjoyed the silence between us.

The night ended far too soon for my liking. Denny and I had cleaned up our mess at the park as soon as it had gotten too dark to see before hopping in his truck to head home. I didn't want the night to end but I knew it would have too. I needed to make sure that this wasn't a dream.
Denny surprised me by pulling into his driveway. "Are you trying to seduce me?" I asked him as he shut the truck off. Denny barked with laughter. "Why? Are you seducible?" he asked. I laughed but shook my head no. Denny smiled. "That's what I thought," he said as he threw his truck door open.
I hopped out of his truck as well and meet him at the back of it. "I'll walk you to your house," Denny said. I smiled as his hand grasped mine and we started walking across the road to my house. "Tonight was perfect," I said as we started up the stairs on my porch.
Denny nodded. "Yeah it was definitely nice. I hope we get to do it again," he said. I leaned against the door so I could face him. "Me too," I said. Denny turned. "Well goodnight, Emily," he said. On a whim I grabbed his arm and pulled him back, closer.
"Something the matter, darling?" he asked me. I looked up at him. "Well, Mister Duquette. You tell me," I said. He cocked an eyebrow. "Well let's see, I picked you up, held your door, bought you dinner, and walked you to your door," he said with a smile.
I nodded. "Yes, you did all of those. Like a proper gentleman," I said softly. Denny's facial expression changed like he had caught on to what I was saying. "Like a proper gentleman," he repeated before leaning in and connected his lips with mine.

I hope y'all enjoyed this chapter! Right now I am struggling with what to do with Denny and Emily as far as dates go. He hasn't shared his condition with Emily but as a heart patient there is some things he can and can't do.
So Denny and Emily had their first date! And he ended it like a "perfect gentleman" How do you think things will progress? Predictions?
