Chapter 1
Calling all Grey's Anatomy fans!
Here is the first chapter of my Denny Duquette story!
Please note that I am just using Denny's story line and the town of Seattle. I am not going to be using all of the cast of Grey's Anatomy. That is just too much stuff to keep up with. I will be using random doctor's names, but Denny's story line will remain the same!
Emily is mine and so is her story line!
Please tell me what you think and spread the word!

It was another rainy day in Seattle as I sat on my porch swing, cuddled up in a blanket, reading a book. The rain never seemed to let up in Seattle. If it didn't rain, it stayed cloudy and gloomy. The sound of a big truck pulling up brought me out of my thoughts.
I looked up to see that it was the same truck that had been here for the past couple of days. A couple of men got out of the truck and started unloading more boxes and furniture. It had been almost a year since someone had lived in the house across the street from me.
I pressed my bookmark in the pages before shutting it and sitting it beside me. I pulled the blanket around me tighter as the men put the last few boxes in the house. I watched intently as they pulled away and a few minutes later a rusted old Ford truck pulled up.
My eyebrows pulled together in confusion. A tall, lanky man stepped out. His white shirt was clean, but his pants were washed out and dirty along with his work boots. He looked tired and a little worn out as he trudged his way towards what I assumed was his new home.
He was tall, dark, and handsome from behind. I was hoping he would turn around, so I could see his face, but he went right in the house and shut the door behind him. I sighed and got up deciding to head in the house for the evening. Grabbing my book, I walked into the house and closed the door.
Maybe I should introduce myself? Maybe I should bake him some cookies? I shook my head as I locked the door. He probably didn't want to be bothered right now. I dropped my book on the coffee table and my blanket on the couch before heading to the kitchen and making myself a cup of tea.
I headed upstairs to my room and flipped on my bedside lamp before going to sit in my chair. I looked out the window to see there was one dim light shining through the window across the way in the new house. I sat my cup of tea on my window sill and leaned forward in my chair.
I could see a shadow walk past the window on occasion. It was covered with curtains, but I assumed it was the mystery man who had just moved in. It had been a while since I had had a neighbor and the curiosity was getting the best of me. I sighed and stood up. Walking to my bed I crawled under the warm covers and turned out the light deciding sleep was the best option.

I woke up early the next morning to a light knock on the door. I trotted down the stairs still half asleep wondering who could be knocking this early in the morning. I grabbed my robe off the hook and draped it around me trying to cover up my pajamas.
I opened the door and my eyes instantly became wide as I saw it was the new guy from last night. I suddenly felt very self conscious of my pajama clad state as I pulled my robe around me and tied it shut. One hand rested on the doorknob while the other ran through my hair trying to control the unruly bedhead.
"Uh h-hi," I said with a small smile hoping that this would be quick. His smile was killer. His brown shaggy hair was damp like he had just gotten out of the shower. His hazel eyes sparkled as he smiled brightly. "I'm sorry to bother you," he said. His voice was deep and very sexy.
I smiled brighter. "It's no trouble at all. Is there something I can do for you?" I asked him. He held out an empty mug. "I was wondering if I could borrow a cup of coffee from you?" he said. I chuckled slightly. "I don't think you can really borrow a cup of coffee," I said.
He smiled wider. "Actually, I can. Once I finally go grocery shopping I can give it back," he said. I smiled as he held the cup out slightly towards me. I grabbed it from his hand and opened the door a little wider. "Please, come in," I said as I started heading towards the kitchen.
"You're inviting me in? What if I'm a serial killer or something?" he asked me as I heard the door shut. I rolled my eyes as I started the coffee pot. Light footfalls echoed through my house and soon he was leaning against the doorway to the kitchen.
I turned around and leaned against the counter. "Well I guess I'll just have to hope for the best. If not, my boss will know that something happened to me because I'm due in for a shift today," I said. He crossed his arms across his chest and laughed lightly.
Soon the smell of coffee floated through the air. "If you don't mind, I'm going to change out of my pajamas, but please, help yourself to the coffee," I said as I skirted past him to head upstairs. I shut my bedroom door and locked it, just in case he couldn't be trusted.
I quickly changed into a pair of leggings and a warm sweater knowing that it was going to be on the cooler side today and it was most likely going to rain. I went into my bathroom and grabbed my toothbrush quickly brushing my teeth before running a brush through my hair and pulling it up into a messy bun.
After making sure I looked a little more presentable than what I was. I quickly headed back down the stairs to find the mystery man slowing walking around my living room looking at the pictures I had hung on the walls with a cup of coffee in his hand.
I cleared my throat and he turned around. "I'm sorry, I hope you don't think I'm being nosey," he said as he placed his cup of coffee on the mantle of the fireplace. I shook my head as I crossed my arms. "Well it's not everyday that I let a mysterious man in my house," I said.
He smiled and it made my heart swell seeing the dimples form on his cheeks. He took a couple of giant steps, closing the distance between us, before holding out his hand to me. I placed my hand lightly in his and he brought my hand up to his mouth before kissing the back of my hand lightly.
"Denny Duquette," he said as he pulled back. I smiled as I pulled my hand out of his. "Emily Waters, it's nice to meet you," I said. He smiled. "Likewise," he said while walking back over to the mantle and grabbing his coffee. He quickly finished off the rest before walking to the kitchen.
He walked over to the sink and turned the water on. "You don't have to do that," I said as he started rinsing his cup out. He held up a soapy hand in protest. "Please, it's the least I can do," he said as he cleaned his hands on a dish towel and put his cup in the dish drainer.
"I owe you," he said. I shook my head. "It was nothing," I said as he started walking towards the door. "Yes it was. I can't start my day without a cup of coffee," he said as he opened the door and walked back out onto the porch before turning to me.
"I guess I'll see you around?" I asked him. He smiled that dreamy smile I was already beginning to love. "I sure hope so, Sweetheart. I hope all the other neighbors are as nice as you," he said with a wink. I leaned against the doorframe as he walked across the street.
He jumped in his rusted up truck and quickly backed it out of his driveway. He waved to me before taking off down the road. I smiled and waved back in return and watched his truck disappear down the road. I shook my head slightly before walking back into my house and shutting the door behind.
I looked at the clock and figured it was time for me to get ready for work. I decided to grab my own cup of coffee before I went back upstairs to get a shower. I grabbed the cup from the dish drainer when it dawned on me that Denny had left his cup behind. I shrugged and filled it up before heading upstairs. His smile flashed through my mind as I walked the stairs slowly.
I started the water to my shower as I grabbed my clothes for work and laid them on the bathroom counter. I placed my coffee cup on the counter beside my clothes and let my fingers touch the rim lightly wondering what Denny's lips felt like. I shook my head trying to clear the thoughts as I stripped my clothes to get in the shower. I was not going to allow Denny Duquette to be the death of me.

So there's the first chapter!
What do you think? I know it's starting slow but that's to be the idea! All stories start slow and have to build up!
