In one of the tall buildings in the most fashionable area of Station Square, sat the young detective. Thinking about the whole situation, connecting the dots to see if those two individuals were in fact his parents. He doesn't remember his father, most probably he never knew him. His mother on the other hand, was his world.

He remembers her smile, her hugs, her laughter and...the most important thing about her was her eyes. He couldn't remember if she had yellowish or blueish eyes. It was confusing to him.

Correction

This WHOLE THING is confusing to the young boy.

"Argh Im gonna have a m-migraine" spoke the boy as he rubbed his forehead on a giant chair.

"With that group of people, who wouldn't?" Commented a orange cat swinging a her staff. Ray assumed that she seemed to be training.

"Oh! S-sorry I didn't mean to i-i-interrupt you!"

"Whatever...Sis wanted to help you so I ain't gonna complain...besides...you seem to have things in your mind..." commented Tiara as she stood leaning on her staff and looks at Ray. "So...whats the issue kid?"

Ray hesitated to answer her question but he didn't dare to tell his friend.

"On the last m-mission we brought back a couple, w-who was looking for their ch-child...and they looked at me...They might think Im their son..." as Ray finishes his voice seems to change from his usual tone of voice to a disappointing tone.

"Ok but why the disappointment?"

"I d-don't remember m-my father...He "l-l-left" us when I was a baby and my memory of my m-mother is so contradicting...I don't even know which ones are real..." said the boy grabbing his tail. "But I have a family but..."

"You want to know if they're really your folks..." Tiara finished the sentence. Ray nodded and looked down.

"Look if you want to know why not talk to them? Or are you afraid the Chaotix will leave you because of them?..." The young boy looked at the feline surprised. Was it his fear of disappointing his team, nay his family, that they would leave him? Will they stay by his side if he tries talking to those two people or will they leave him feeling betrayed and hurt?

"Well which ever you choose Ray, remember that everyone will support your decision, especially Mighty." Both of them looked at the one who spoke, standing under the doorframe was Honey with his fixed scarf. "You do know that right?"

The young boy smiled and nodded. "Yeah I know...I j-just don't want to d-d-disappoint them..."

"You ain't disappointing 'em kid! It's your right! If they don't like it well they can piss off" Commented the orange cat as she sat down on a sofa.

"TIARA!!"

"N-No...sh-sh-she's right in a way..." Ray said with a small smile. "It's my right to know or not...b-but I have to be mindful of h-h-how they'll react..."

Both sisters look at each other and smiled.

"Right...here Buddy all fixed" Honey gives the boy his fixed scarf.

"Th-thanks Honey!" Ray thanked and opened a warp ring "are you coming by n-next week?"

"I'll see if my work schedule gets done" Says the fashionista to the boy with a laugh.

As Ray waves and thanks Honey once again, he goes through the warp rings and fixes up his scarf. When he looked where he was he was at Shrine Isle, in front of the Master Emerald. He looked around and took the returning ring as it fell at the palm of his hand.

A heavy sigh came out of him and jumped on the giant glowing gem. Just waiting on his family to come back to Angel Island.

A golden ring opened at the base of the Shrine, with its glow appears most of the Chaotix coming out of the portal. Some were exhausted about the small scuffle back at HQ, while others are concern of the events that transpired.

"Su you need to calm down. Its only been a few hours since these people got here" said the young Guardian "I doubt they just randomly came to the conclusion of their kid without any test"

"I know Knux its just-"

"Sh! Ray's here lets stop talking about this" said Espio in a whisper as he points at the Master Emerald, where the young boy was taking a small nap.

Matilda got on top of the Master Emerald, with the help of Saffron. Getting close to her brother, shaking and calling him delicately.

"Ray...Raay, wake up buddy we're back..." whispered the girl to her adopted brother. Waking up slowly, Ray sat up and rubbed his eyes.

"T-Tilly....Wh-what time is it?" Asked Ray as he yawned afterwards

"It's late and we haven't eaten dinner yet..."

"Are we gonna g-get anything?"

"Probably.."

"W-wait where's Mighty and Vector?"

"They uhhh...They're talking to Sonic for a bit.." Knuckles answered lying about the reason

Julie-Su and Espio looked at the echidna confused and the little armadillo just sighed at the response as Ray and Charmy laughs at the interaction.

Mighty sat at the top of the HQ alone with his knees and chest together as he uses his arms to rest his head. He's been there for about an hour or two, he lost count at this point. He didn't had a doubt about finding Ray's family, he wanted to help as a thank you for being is best friend and his little brother. But the moment the others started to argue about the situation, he started to doubt himself.

'What am I doing? I gave my word to Ray that I would support his decision... but in a way I want to be a bit selfish for a moment...I want Ray to be with me and the Chaotix but if he wants his parents...well Id be a hypocrite for telling him not to go...' thought the red armadillo as he stared at the starry night.

"Hey...ya got room fo' one more?" The armadillo's ear twitched at sound of his giant friend came from behind him.

"O-Oh Vector! Sure I guess...I thought you went with the others" Mighty said as he watched Vector sitting next to him, his legs dangling from the ledge they sat from.

"I was gonna but I didn't want to leave ya hangin'...and by the looks of it you are hanging on by a thread..."

Mighty's eyes widen by what Vector speculated about him. With a big sigh, Mighty eyes fell upon Sonic and Tails, who were on their way home. Mighty's ears fell as he sees his dynamic with Ray in both Sonic and Tails.

"I....Im at a loss Vec...I made a promise to help and protect Ray from anything...Im grateful for what he's done for me and for him being with me throughout everything...from the prison camp to finding Matilda and so on..."

Vector took notice of Mighty's voice breaking, it wasn't normal form the cheerful 'dillo to speak that way. "But?"

"But I...I want him to stay with me...with us...but I would be a hypocrite if I tell him that I change my mind in helping him find his parents..." Mighty dropped his head into his chest. Vector could see his tears coming down his face.

"You're not a hypocrite for saying things you want, Mighty...You have your heart in the right place and you want to make Ray happy because you love him...he's your brother!" Comforted the giant croc as his hand landed on his friend's shoulder. "Your right it's Ray's choice...and we'll be here for him always"

"Ray...Ray was the only family I had before you all came in the picture...If...if he goes with them...his real family...W...Will he even need me to be his brother anymore?" Cried the strong armadillo as his hand gripped his head with his hand.

Vector remembers that same question that came from Ray's mouth. Both crying, worried, slightly heartbroken. Vector hugged the armadillo with one arm without hesitation.

"Of course he will, Buddy...You know how much he loves you...how much he loves us...He said it before...we're one big family! And we don't abandon our own!" Spoke Vector very sweetly and with a smile. Surly it wouldn't backfire at the Cro-

"Heh...Even Julie-Su?"

Oops spoke too soon

Vector dropped a sweat to the question. Vector sighed and wanted to smack his friend for being a smart ass but he let it slide this time.

"Argh..Yes ...even Julie-Su" The crocodile's response caused Mighty to laugh.

"Hey Vector?...thanks...for the pep talk...I needed that" Mighty Thanked as he stood up and extended his hand at the crocodile.

"Anytime Mighty... I know how much Ray's means to you so it was to be expected, now lets bead home big guy..."

Mighty nodded as he walked with Vector to open up a Warp Ring and go through it.
