Chapter 6

Updates....heh... 😅
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Natsu woke, the first thing his barely working brain processed was the fact that Gray was clinging to him as if his life depended on it. And to be honest, Natsu didn't really mind that much. It gave him a strange tingly feeling in his stomach, a small warmth that reminded him that everything was okay.
Almost half an hour passed before Gray began to stir, grumbling as he sat up slowly, massaging his neck that had been rested in what looked like an extremly uncomfortable postition.
"Bloody hell, I don't do mornings," he mumbled grumpily, glaring at me with bleary eyes. It surprised Natsu. This Gray was so much different than the one he had seen just the night before. In all honesty, Gray changed almost every time he came to see him. Depressed and unwilling to socialise at first, then excitable and childish later.
Multiple personalitys? Or maybe he was just weird.
Natsu put this aside and smiled at the scowling boy.
"Goodmorning to you too! You're certainly looking cheerful on this fine day."
Gray just looked even grouchier if that was even possible. He then stood up and stumbled over to the window to peer out of it.
"It's raining. Not a fine day at all!"
Typical.
"How are you even this lively this early?" He continued, looking throughly disgruntled at the thought of greeting the day and all it had to offer.
"I've always been a morning person I guess," Natsu said to the back of Gray's head. The latter had retreated to the bathroom and was splashing water in his face in a fruitless attempt to wake up fully.
Natsu stood up and went to join him, glancing in the mirror as he walked past. God, his reflection. He hated it so much. Pink hair that stuck up crazily no matter how long he combed it. His green eyes where such a boring colour, but managed to look good on everyone else. There was nothing he could pick out and say "I like this about myself". It was all just.... Ew.
Gray seemed to notice the way his smile had drooped slightly whilst passing the mirror and his eyebrows furrowed slightly.
"You... Um. Look kind of cool today...." Gray mumbled, blushing slightly. Natsu's head snapped up and he gulped, aware of how hot his cheeks had just become.
"So do you," He complimented back automatically, meaning every word. Gray's hair was even messier than usual and his pale skin seemed to glow in the bright bathroom lights. He cleared his throat and accepted the comment quietly. The two finished off in silence and Natsu went to open the curtains that were blocking out the light.
Raindrops splattered against the window in a rythmic pattern and grey clouds blocked out any sunlight trying to fight its way through. It reminded Natsu of his first day in an orphanage. There had been a huge thunderstorm and he was terrified. Natsu could recall how he begged for someone to help him and they had laughed and turned their backs. He had cried himself to sleep that night.
The only person who was ever friendly to him was a girl a little older than him. Her name had been Lisanna and she was the light of his world for a brief while before she had been transferred to another orphanage leaving Natsu alone.
"God- FUCK!" Gray's shout cut through Natsu's train of thought and dragged him back down and out of memory lane. Gray had tripped over the mess that had been Gratsutopia and was sprawled out on the floor, rubbing his head angrily. Turns out he hit it in exactly the same place as he had a few days prior.
"Aw, you wrecked it," Natsu complained, trying not to laugh at how utterly stupid Gray looked, lying on the ground with his legs in the air and a small pile of cushions scattered around him.
"It wrecked me!"Gray moaned back. Natsu stuck out a hand which Gray grabbed gratefully and pulled him up from the trip hazard of a kingdom.
"We better clear it away before it attacks you again," Natsu sniggered, scooping up a blanket and pillow. Gray followed suit and together they cleaned up the mess.
Gratsutopia had fallen.
"So," Natsu began. The two were now perched on the bed having treated Gray's head injury. "When do you plan on leaving this room?"
Gray frowned and dropped his gaze. This was obviously a sensitive subject to discuss.
"I don't. I'm not leaving. Ever."
"But why? You haven't done anything to deserve this!"
"Haven't I?" Gray whispered, clenching his shaking hands. "Trust me. I've done more than enough. Ask your friend, Lucy."
