**After school, Nash insisted that we celebrate at his house. I didn't want to say no, but I didn't want to say yes either. It wouldn't be the same there without Cameron, but then again, I didn't want to feel like I was uninterested or anything.
So I decided to say yes anyways. I could use a free day.
While at my locker, Gavin and some of the people from the newspaper team came by.
"Madison, we thought about what you said to Gavin, and we decided that you take his position in the newspaper team." Gavin looked so defeated. He had no words. They wanted me to run the newspaper team? "We already took a vote, and thought you'd be perfect."
"Guys, I'm flattered, but I don't think I'm fit for this."
"Madison." Gavin said stepping up to the plate. "As much as this position meant to me, I think you should take this position. This team needs a great leader, someone who knows what's best for everyone. You're that someone."
I saw Cameron waiting for me way down the hall. I tried to rap this thing up quickly as I could, so I could talk to Cam and go to Nash's place. "You know what guys, I'm in!" They all started to cheer and clap and give me hi-fives.
"We'll see you tomorrow, boss."
"Yeah, see you tomorrow." After they left, I walked up to where Cameron was standing.
"Hey Cam."
"Hey." I guess we where back to were we first started from. "So, I never thanked you properly for what you and the guys did. That was really sweet of you."
"I just thought you should know the truth, that's all." He had a smile on his face, but then it started to fade.
***"I'm such an idiot!" He said punching into the lockers. "You tried to tell me that it wasn't you, but I wouldn't listen. I feel terrible. You, Nash, you all tried to tell me, but-" he stopped when it sounded like he was about to tear up.
"Cam, it's okay. You didn't know. You were going through stuff. I understand. We just all wanted our friend back."
"And you?" he said wanting me to continue.
"And, I just wanted the guy I fell in love with back."
"You're in love with me?"
"Well yeah, I've just never had the guts to say it."
***"Madison, I feel the same way. I love you too much. Everything about you. You're humor, your determination, your insecurities, everything. You're beautiful." He leaned in and kissed me. There goes that spark. ✨✨
"We were going to go to Nash's house and celebrate, did you want to come?"
"Absolutely, but what did Gavin want to talk to you about?"
"I'm officially President of the Newspaper Team! They voted Gavin off, and me in!" I said leaping into his arms.
***"What? Madison, that's great!" he said hugging me tighter. "I'm proud of you, babe."
"Babe?" I said looking into his eyes.
"Madison," he said grabbing my hand and getting down on one knee. "Will you be my girlfriend?" I didn't hesitate at all. I said 'Yes' and leaped right into his arms. His kisses were so beautiful.
