~Cameron

*In 5.2 miles, turn left* Said my female GPS voice navigator as we were on our way to Mrs. Walters's hotel suite. Since the movie ended, Madison has been talking non-stop about how excited she is to meet the guy Madison's mom is crazy about. I hope he's a cool dude.

Hearing Madison talk a lot was kinda cute, because she rarely ever talks, but at least I knew there was one subject she loved discussing, her mom.

I think Madison should be grateful, though I know she is, about having so much in her life. She has perfect grades, she's beautiful inside and out, and she has both her parents. Sure her mom lives many miles away and they can barely see each other, but at least she has 2/2 meanwhile, I'm dealing with 1/2, and a sister who's far away planning to be a psychologist.

"Cameron?"

"Yeah?" I said. I forgot he was in the car almost, sometimes I think too much, that I forget I'm surrounded by other people.

"I'm sorry about my parents and about why my dad said, about dinner."

"You're cool. Your dad didn't know about the situation and he was just being polite. I think your parents liked the gifts." I said trying to change the subject.

"Cam, do you mind telling me about the car accident situation— if you want to though. Because, I just thought that if I understand—"

"Mads, we can save that for another day. Right now, is all about your mom, let's keep it this way. You've got your stuff right?"

"Yeah. I'm glad I can spend the night with my mom, we can finally catch up on everything."

We finally made it to the hotel, the ride wasn't as long as it felt though. The hotel was pretty big, I could spend the night here if I wanted to, to clear my head from everyone and everything. Mads ran straight into her room yelling "Mom!" As if she hasn't seen her in forever. I wish I could he that kind of relationship with my mom, but I see her every freakin' day.

"Cameron, so nice to meet you again. By the way kids, this is my fiancé, Mason Jackson."

Mason Jackson. That name sounded so familiar, and his face did too. It's like I can picture the name and face in my head, but I can't remember where.

"Madison, it's so nice to meet you. You're just as beautiful as your mom. And you must be...." He said coming towards me.

"Cameron, Cameron Dallas." I showed out my hand for a shake, but he looked frightened. He wouldn't even look me in the eye anymore. Okay, weird. Moving on.

"So Mason, or should I say Daddy Number Two," Madison said playfully. She's so adorable.

"Tell me about yourself. Don't think of this as an interview, though I'd appreciate it if you did. I'm practicing to be. News reporter just like Mommy." Madison said pretending she had a microphone in her hand.

"Well, I used to own a car rental shop, but I lost that privilege several years ago, and it still haunts me about the mistakes I've made. But now I've grown and changed. Now I work as a lifeguard at a pool a few blocks from where your mom works." He did go on and on, but why and I remember where he's from? I can remember a man with a deep voice saying something about a guy named Mason Jackson losing his license for driving and for his car rental shop. Then handcuffs triggered to my mind.

No.

Don't tell me.

This cannot be true.

My face got redder and boiled than ever.

I started losing control, I ran straight up to him and swung for his face, but missed.

"Cameron! What's gotten into you?" Madison said trying to hold me back.

"I'll tell you what's gotten into me, he's the guy that killed my fucking father! Him!" Madison's face was so shocked. Almost like she didn't believe me.

"Cam, that was so many years ago, and—

"It doesn't matter, why wouldn't he shake my hand when I told him my name, he's embarrassed! He never even apologized for killing my one and only dad! And you want me to NOT do something about it?" I kept trying to push and swing at him, but with Madison holding me back, I couldn't. She's stronger than she looks.

"Mason, is this true? You killed Cameron's father?" Madison's mother asked with concern. He stayed silent for a couple of minutes. "Mason? I'm talking to you!" Again, he stayed as silent as a rock.

"Maybe, it's time for us to go. I'll call you later Mom." Madison said getting my keys and walking out the door.

~Madison

I've never seen Cameron so mad before, and he rarely ever curses like that. His face was so boiling with fury. How could this be? That out of all the men my mom could've gotten engaged to, it was the man who killed Cameron's father?

When we got in the car, Cameron calmly sat down and then slapped and hit the steering wheel a few times. It broke my heart to see Cameron so broken.

Afterwards, he let out a few tears and I had to comfort him, but it was hard since he was in the driver's seat and I was in the passenger's seat.

"Cam, I'm sorry about all of this. I don't even know how all this happened? Are you sure that's him? It was a long time ago." I said rubbing his back softly.

"Madison, I really like you, and I'd never yell in your face on the first date, but yes, that is him. Mason Jackson. It was all over the news that night as well. And I'll tell you exactly how this happened," I had to stay strong for this. He was about to explain to be the night that broke him forever. "My Mom, Sierra, Dad and I were coming home for eating at a restaurant. My dad was in the car telling us how he enjoyed the salad he ate at the restaurant..." I don't think Cam could go on, he started sniffing as hiding back his tears. "Once we stopped at the red light, he told me and the rest of my family members that tonight was a night to remember. He loved the evening, and spending time with us kids and his beautiful wife. Once the light went green, we started hearing police sirens and before you knew it, that was it—the end. The car ran straight into him. The man driving the car was over 60 miles per hour, he was definitely drunk and on the run from the police. Why else would he be driving so fast on a 35 mph road?" Cameron went on and on. He just said to promise him I won't tell anyone, and I did. I will keep that promise. We spent the next twenty minutes holding each other tight and not letting go not once. For a second, I thought I saw a girl near the car staring dead at us, but maybe I was just tired, and that wasn't important right now, Cameron was.

Very emotional chapter for Cameron 💔💔

Was there actually a girl near the car? Was she listening to their conversation?

Should I do a POV from Mrs. Walters or Mason Jackson? (comment if so)

What will Mrs. Walters do with her fiancé?

Thanks for reading. Vote and comment.
