Finally, date-night. I could almost say that we're a couple, but that's his decision, not mine. Of course, we've held hands, and kissed and he's called me 'babe', but I guess in Cameron's mind, that doesn't define a relationship, just two really good friends.
It was a quarter of and Cameron was still no-show. I hope what I was wearing was okay. I didn't want to overdo it, but also look like I didn't put in any effort. My parents were downstairs conversing with each other about who knows what, and I bet it's killing them inside because they have no interest for each other and it's just so awkward between them. I had to go downstairs to save them from making it any more awkward then it needs to be.
"Mom, Dad, when Cameron gets here, please do not make this about you guys, or make it uncomfortable for him. I don't want this to be our last date because you two scared him off."
"Honey, don't worry, any guy you approve of, I approve of." This is why Mom and I clicked so well. It's like we were the same person. She understood me. As for Dad, not so understanding.
"Just be home before eleven, or ten. Ten works better for me." Dad saying that made me even more worried. Maybe Cam got so nervous he decided to cancel?
There was a knock on the door, and I ran to the door before my Dad could and say anything utterly embarrassing to Cameron.
"Cam, you're here. You looks great." Cameron looked like a complete gentleman. Like those movies from the 60s. He looked dazzling; too handsome. I hope I wasn't drooling.
"So do you. These are for you. Sorry it took me so long, surprisingly, I didn't know what to wear." He gave me a small navy blue box, and inside was a pair of diamond earrings.
"Aw, Cam, you bought me earrings?"
"Sparkling earrings to match that sparkling smile." He said and then kissed my cheek. I hope my parents weren't watching.
"Em hem?" My mom said clearing her throat, meaning, she was watching every little move.
"Hello Mrs. Walters, I'm Cameron Dallas, it's very nice to meet you. Madison has told me a lot about you. You're prettier than she described, I wouldn't thought you were her older sister." Wow, who knew Cameron could be so smooth? "Also, congratulations on the engagement, I'm very happy for you, I hope your marriage is full of success." Maybe the flattering will help me land a later curfew.
"Mr. Walters, nice to see you again." Cam said trying to shake my Dad's hand, in which Dad was shaking a bit too tight because Cam started quivering to the ground.
"Wait, you two have already met?" My mom asked walking towards the boys.
"Actually yes, in which one of the times I witness him kiss our only daughter." And then all eyes were on me. Cam looked like he was beginning to sweat. He's only been here for two minutes, and he's already uncomfortable.
"Well, I couldn't help it, the boy's got some good lips." Okay, maybe saying that made him even more uncomfortable, but I loved seeing Cam blush.
"Uhm, Mr. and Mrs. Walters, if you don't uhm mind, I got you guys some gifts as well. Mrs. Walters, I got you a coupon for a free spa-day. The masseuse there are fabulous. Mads told me you work really hard, so you deserve a day off. As for you Mr. Walters, I got you this barbecue apron that says LOVER OF BACON. Mads told me you love bacon and barbecuing, so I tried to find the best match." Cameron was nailing every second of right now. He's got it in the bag.
"Well, thank you Cameron, I'm not a man who accepts a bribe, but this will very much cover your troubles."
"Yeah, Cameron, thank you so much. You're a nice young man." Mom said.
"Thank you, thank you both." Now that's taken care of, I'm guessing we can leave.
***"Cameron, if you want- if you guys still have time, would you like to stay for dinner? I'm making salad."
Fuck. Salad.
*Please Cam don't cry in front of my parents, please don't cry in front of my parents.* I thought to myself over and over. Bad enough you guys made him feel uncomfortable (well, with the help of me mentioning his sweet lips) but they don't have to know his weakness.
"Uhm, no thank you sir."
"Dad, we're late, we have to go." I said pushing Cameron out of the door. I couldn't let him stay. You should've heard the way his voice cracked when he try to say 'no thank you'. I grabbed my purse and we were out the door.
"Be home by ten-thirty!" My dad said slamming the front door.
Ten-thirty, I guess I can live with that.

"Look Cam, I truly am sorry about my dad. About the...-"
"It's okay. Dads are dads. That's all they can ever be."
"Yeah. Don't you hate it when they ruin things?"
"Actually no, since my dad did die when I was little so, I don't know how you feel." Okay, maybe that wasn't a good topic to discuss. This date is going downhill and it hasn't even started it.
But once we got to the theatre, I was picking out a movie while Cam bought the popcorn. Movie theatre food is getting way too expensive, good thing Cameron was paying.
We decided to watch a romantic movie, hopefully it'll set the mood for us as well. I need a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on and well, someone to hand me tissues.

This chick flick movie is just sad and awful. Look at what it's doing to Madison, her face is all red and puffy (I hope she's not wearing makeup), and plus, I've never actually seen her cry before. That's another reason Madison stands out from the other girls.
When Brooklynn tortured the girls and guys at school (even the poor freshmen -aw) about eighty-five percent of them do cry in fear. But Madison, I haven't seen her cry until now, and it was because if some chick flick movie.
Although, holding Madison's hand multiple times and allowing her to cry on my shoulder, was worth it. Her parents seem really cool. I wish I could've stayed for dinner, to try to get to know her parents better, but they were having- NO. I need to stop connecting salad to my dad. It's not gonna help me at all. Or did Madison's dad know about my dad's passing? How did even Madison know about the salad thing? Because she did look awfully guilty. Or maybe I'm taking this out of proportion. I love- like Madison a lot and there's no way she'd do all of this on purpose.
Now that I've been thinking to myself throughout this whole movie, I can take Madison to her mom's hotel suite and meet the groom-to-be.

Poor Cam, salad is not a good thing to think about. But we will discover more about Cameron's dad's accident in the next chapter -it may be my best chapter yet so vote and comment! 😊
By the way, I imagine Madison's dad (as I'm editing this chapter) as Byron Montgomery from "Pretty Little Liars". For those who don't know who that is, you can just google image his name.
KEKE Palmer's show "JustKEKE" retweeted my tweet! First Nash, now KEKE. I'm on a roll 😀
Thank for reading
