Madison is finally at Nash's house. 😊
This is a long chapter. My longest one so far actually. 😊
_______________
~Madison
"Hey guys, sorry I took forever, I had to fix a situation." I said walking up to the guys who were probably waiting ages for me.
"What kind of situation?" Cameron said giving me a tight hug.
"Forget that, come on guys!" Nash said as we all hoped in his ride. His car was just as expensive-looking as Cameron's car.
•
His house was huge, even bigger than Cameron. His basement has an enormous flat screen TV, made me think I was in a theater, plus he had this insane mini-fridge that was filled with soda and chocolate pudding, typical men. I'd say, this was Nash's man cave.
"Looks like we've got the place to ourselves." Carter said filling relieved as he plopped onto the couch.
"Yeah, my parents are out on a business trip for a few days, and they took Hayes and Skylynn with them. But they should be back by Saturday."
"They get to miss a week of school, lucky." Carter said mumbling under his breath.
"That isn't something we thought we'd hear from Mr. Straight-A Student." Matt said giving Carter a punch on his shoulder.
"I may be Asian, but sometimes we need a break."
"Yeah, just to study more." Matt said do everyone but Carter could hear and we all laughed.
"So Mads, are you ready to do this, or nah?" Matt asked me trying to change the subject.
"Yeah, but I have to use the bathroom first." I feel so embarrassed, for having a small bladder.
"Oh, I'm sure Cam can show you where it is." Matt said to me and Cam, in a very flirty joyful tune.
"Here, I'll show you where it is." Cam said grabbing my hand. I could hear the boys cheering for Cameron as we went back upstairs.
"Sorry, they can be a little immature."
"It's fine, I'm just glad I'm here, with you."
"Yeah, me too."
We looked into each other's eyes for a good three minutes.
"Well, the bathroom is the last one on the left." he said breaking the silence.
"Thanks."
"No prob." He said winking at me, going back to the basement to his friends.
After that quick bathroom break, I decided to walk back to the basement slowly, to give me a chance to look around the house, I wasn't spying or being nosy, I was just glancing. Nash's house was actually pretty nice. Then something caught my eye. It was a picture of Nash and Cameron from when they were little. They were in that exact basement, playing those toddler video games. I find it amazing that they stayed best friends for so long, because it looks like this pictures was taken when they were like five. I wish I could experience what it was like to have a friend for so long, because I just lost my friends so I would never know. But for now, I have Cameron, the guys, and his best friend Nash, who doesn't like me as much as I thought he did.
•
"Wow Mads, you're better than I thought!" Matt said while I'll was getting the hang of it this stupid game. I didn't think I'd be winning this many times. First place six times in a row. Technically seven times, but they let me win the first time. I almost feel sorry for them. But then I had to admit, seeing their sad faces as they got beat by a girl was kinda entertaining.
"Guys, don't you think we should take a break? We've been playing non-stop for over an hour?" I said throwing my controller on the couch.
"No! I won't stop until I at least get second place! I can't believe I'm losing to a girl." Carter said falling to the floor. Seeing them so upset about this was actually amusing to me.
"Wow Madison, you proved me wrong. I didn't think you'd even know how to work the controller." Nash said with letting in a big breath.
"Yeah. She good at eating contests and video games. Isn't she awesome?" Cameron said leaving me blushing. "But I'm actually starving. What about you?" Cameron said trying to feel my tummy. He was so adorable. I almost feel bad for beating him.
"Yeah, I'm kinda hungry." I said feeling my tummy growl.
"Hey we should go to taco bell?"
"Yeah, I'm down for that."
"I'll grab my keys." Matt, Carter, and Nash said as they were about to walk out the door.
"Cam, you're coming or not?" Carter said waiting for us.
"Actually no, we'll just wait here." Cameron said smiling at me,
"Okay, well, we'll bring you guys back something, just leave the kitchen how you found it." Nash said slamming the door. He looked kinda pissed off. It was my fault. I know it was.
"Now that we're alone, what's wrong? You've been glum since we got here." Cameron said holding my hand
"Nash. I know he doesn't like me."
"What do you mean? He think you're cool."
"Yeah, he did, when he thought I'd only be sitting with you guys once and didn't know that I'd be here too. I hear the offensive remarks he says about me."
"But Mads, you know how Nash can be. He can be a total ass, but he just comes across that way. He's a cool dude. Sure sometimes he has mood swings, but he's can be impulsive sometimes. Don't let that get to your head."
Suddenly, Cam took off his shirt, showing his muscular body, making me feel that he only did that to persuade me. "Okay, for now, I'll just play nice and try to get along with everyone. Matt and Carter are really cool." I said blushing.
"I know, I love those guys. Now, why don't I make you a snack, while you just sit there and look pretty." he said pointing to the kitchen stool.
Cameron gives me this unconditional feeling. I could say I'm starting to catch feelings for him, but I don't know that for sure. I mean it's only been two days, but he's just so easy to talk to, I feel like I've known him my whole life.
He's one of a kind. I've never met a guy like him; so down to earth, friendly, and thoughtful. He was like the guys in the movies. We girls usually have high expectations, because we know that there aren't guys like Troy Bolton or Ezra Fitz in real life. But there he is, my Troy Bolton was standing right in front of me, and I couldn't let him pass me by.
He made me forget what I was even thinking about when he shoved this pink drink in my face. How long was I out? And where did he get the drink from?
"Mads, it's a smoothie. Maybe if you wasn't staring into space, you would've actually helped me out with this."
"How long was I out?" Dear God, I hope I wasn't drooling.
"For about a good twenty minutes."
"Oh sorry. I didn't realize."
"It's cool, what were you thinking about anyways?"
"Well, I was-"
"We're back!" Matt said rushing through the door. Thank goodness, I was saved.
"What are we gonna do now? Netflix?" Carter said holding his bag of tacos.
"Oh Carter, you can be such a girl sometimes. I rented out that new zombie movie that came out last month." Nash said walking to his living room as we followed him. Zombie movies are my least favorite and there's no way I would stick around for this. But then again, this is an opportunity to snuggle in Cam's arms, and hiding in his chest when the scary parts arrive. He has gorgeous abs and his biceps are to-die for, well, from what I've hard.
•
So far, I've hid in Cameron's shirt about eight times and may I say his cologne smelled like heaven, or was that his natural scent?
"Hey hun, if this movie is too scary for you, you can always call-up one of your girlies and watch some chick-flicks with them. I recommend the new one with Channing Tatum." Nash said so sarcastically that you could taste it in the air.
But maybe he was right. I guess not only was I not needed here, but I wasn't wanted here as well. And besides, Channing Tatum is not even my taste. I preferred Justin Timberlake. He absolutely did bring sexy back.
"Cam, maybe you should take me home."
"Mads, don't you want to stay for at least five more-
"Dude, if she wants to leave, let her. Don't try to stop her." Nash said interrupting Cameron from finishing. I grabbed my purse and headed out the door. Looks like I'm walking. Good thing I memorized how to get here.
But how could I let this happen? How stupid was I? Actually thinking, that I could hang with guys like them. I completely forgot how worthless I am, but Cameron, he made me feel different, like I was worth it. Like I'm beautiful, but I'm not. I'm no Beyoncé or Brooklynn Peters.
I was halfway down the street form Nash's house when I heard footsteps from behind me and when I turned around, it was no surprise. It was Cameron. Probably coming to apologize for his friends yet again.
"Mads-
"I know! I know! You don't even have to say it. But you know what hurts? That I was actually starting to fall for you, not knowing I'd have to deal with your friends along the way. Can't you just admit that your friends don't like me and neither do you, and we can go back to being strangers in the hallway?"
"Madison, just because my friends are jerks, doesn't mean I'm one too. I told you I love hanging out with you and I mean that. And you wanna know something else, I could be falling for you too." I wanted to believe him, but then I didn't. Yet, he sounded so sincere, yet so unbelievable. The air was getting colder and colder. I regret leaving my jacket in my locker. Cameron quickly took of his jacket and adjusted it onto my shivering shoulders. Did he really mean that? Out of all the girls in the school, from freshmen to senior; from jock to emo, even from the Australians, to the Puerto Rican girls; out of all of them, he was falling for me?
"Why don't I walk you home?"
"Sure. I wouldn't mind that."
"Okay, thanks. But one question?"
"What, Cameron?" I said stopping.
"Are you still falling or me?"
"I'll leave that unanswered." I said blushing. But for now, can we just enjoy the walk?" I said grabbing his hand.
And hand in hand we walked.
And it couldn't get any better than this.
•
The walk home was long, but also good. Cameron got to catch up on meeting the real me. He learned a lot about me, especially about my mom being the news reporter, and about how my mom and dad separated. I even told him about my love for journalism, which was something I only talked to my mom about.
I also got to know about him. His sister seems really sweet and his dad seems really cool. Cooler than my dad, that's for sure. I wanted to know about the whole car accident with his dad, but I guess he wasn't ready for that yet, and I understand. Maybe another time.
"Thanks for the walk home Cam. I finally got to know the real you."
"Yeah, same for you Walters. Maybe I'll watch your mom on channel five tonight."
"Cam, by any means, do you think that you, could possibly be falling for me?"
"Yeah, maybe."
"But why me?"
"Madison, you're different. You're beautiful. You don't go all crazy when I walk pass, you're so honest with me instead of trying to impress me all the time like the other girls. You actually treat me the same way my buds do, not like I'm the most popular guy in the school. You're different, you're special." I was touched. The Cameron Dallas thought I was beautiful. I never considered myself as beautiful, but hearing it from him, gives me butterflies.
"Give me your phone for a quick second."
"Uhm okay." I said giving him my phone. He was dialing a bunch of numbers and then have it back.
"What was that for?"
"I put my number in it. You should text me tonight."
"Yeah, maybe I will. By the way, here's your jacket." I said taking his jacket off. It was really warm inside, as if it had a built in heater.
"No, keep until tomorrow, it look surprisingly hop on you." I blushed too easily, trying to looking away.
We finally pulled up to my house and my dad was home. Okay, we need to make this goodbye quicker than usual so I don't get caught.
"So I guess I'll see you around?" I said as quickly as I could, but not too obvious to hint that I wanted him to leave.
"Okay, I get it. You want me to leave." He said jokingly. Shoot. Looks like it was too obviously.
"I'll leave, but first..."
He leaned it and I did too.
We kissed.
And it felt like I was walking on air. My first kiss, my oh my, it was perfect.
We both couldn't stop smiling. But that big ole smile was starting to fade, as I realized my dad was watching from the whole entire time.
Shoot.
That's all I can say.
