▪️14 - Mistake▪️

The four immediately broke the hug and glanced to where the voice came from.

Tanah then became alarmed when he saw them. Petir, Air and Cahaya: The students who were bullying him.

The three teenage boys gave the earth element a menacing glare with their teeth clenched angrily.

"You!?" The light element exclaimed as he pointed his index finger directly at Tanah. "How dare you snatched our little brothers from us, you earth-head!" He yelled furiously, making the earth manipulator startled and terrified.

"No! He didn't! He saved us-" Api tried to defend Tanah but he was cut off by his big brother, Cahaya.

"Shut up, you flamehead!" He snapped, then his head immediately turned to face the earth element again.

Those words made the fire element stayed silent, frowning while trying to fight back his tears from flowing down. He was hurt by what his big brother called him, and at the same time, upset since he tried defending Tanah but failed so badly.

Petir immediately teleported towards his little brother and grabbed him, returning back shortly to where his friends were. His friends did the same thing. Air summoned a water bubble to get his little brother, Angin away from Tanah while Cahaya leaped swiftly just to snatch his little brother, Api away from him too.

As the three teenage boys successfully got their three little brothers, they cracked their knuckles while having face-to-face with Tanah as they discussed what they could do with him.

"Let's punish him?" The light element suggested, making his two friends grinned wickedly.

Petir and Air combined their powers, creating an electic water and used it against the earth element.

Tanah had no choice but to stay rooted on the ground as he let their powers hit him. He screamed in pain, causing him to collapse down on the ground and became slightly unconscious.

The three little boys gasped in shock as they covered their mouths, with their eyes widened in terror.

"Stop hurting him! Please!" Angin pleaded, but the three teenage boys ignored him as their eyes were focused on Tanah who slightly unconscious on the ground.

Cahaya then walked towards the earth element and set his foot down on top of his chest, making Tanah groaned. The light element moved his head closer to the earth element and whispered something threatening.

"You snatch one of our little brothers one more time, you'll face the consequences." He said, removing his foot off the earth manipulator's chest as he left him lying down on the ground unconscious and returned back to his friends.

Angin, Api and Daun stared at Tanah's condition in horror, feeling upset and guilty about what had happened to him. They failed to defend and to protect him, and they regretted letting their big brothers took action against him.

"I'm sorry..." Was all they could say. The earth element could only gave them a small, but gentle smile, reassuring that everything will be alright and he would be fine. Even though he was hurt pretty badly, he still had the courage to gave the three boys a reassuring smile.

"So," The light element dusted off his hands and faced his friends. "I'll see you guys tomorrow?" He asked, earning a slight nod from his friends.

"Okay then." Cahaya then grabbed his little brother's little ear, making Api shrieked in pain. "We'll be going now. Bye!" The light element said and started pulling his little brother's ear, which the fire element followed after since his big brother was holding his ear.

"We're going now too," Air stated as he gripped on to his little brother's hood from his jacket, making the wind element stumbled and struggled to get on his feet. "Bye." The water element then Angin's hood harshly, his little brother struggling to set his foot down on the ground as they walk.

On the other hand, Petir turned around and started walking home with his hands shoved in his pockets and his face frowning. His leaf element followed beside him after.

As they walk, they were silent. None of them dared to even talk nor even say a single word. The whole atmosphere around them was totally and unusually quiet for the both of them.

Until, one of them spoke...

"How could you hurt him, big brother..." Daun muttered, his eyes staring at the ground gloomily. "He just saved us from-" Suddenly, he was cut off by his big brother.

"Can you just zip your mouth, Daun?" The lightning element said, his face looking annoyed at his little brother. Daun then frowned and started asking a lot of questions.

"Why are you so harsh to me? Are you irritated by my presence? Are you tired of seeing me everyday? Do you even notice my existence? Have you forgotten about me? Are your friends more fun to be with than me? Are you satisfied with what you have right now? Huh!? Are you!?-"

"ENOUGH DAUN!" Petir snapped, glaring at his little brother. All of the sudden, the lightning element started ranting.

"Can't you see, Daun!? I'm already happy of what I have! Until you ruined it! And, can't you act 'mature' for once in your life!? Don't always depend or rely on me to do everything for you!"

The leaf element then felt like a dagger just stabbed right through his heart. Those words hit him really badly, making him hurt on the inside. His breath hitched. Tears started forming in his eyes and he was trying so hard not to let them fall, but in the end, they fell anyway. Daun let out a shaky breath.

"So you don't need me anymore?" The leaf manipulator asked and was surprised when heard no response from his lightning elemental big brother.

"I knew it..."

Petir was about to say something when, they'd already reached home, his leaf elemental little brother swiftly entering the house, leaving the lightning element behind.

As Petir entered the house, he suddenly met their mother's furious face.

"Haven't I told you to come home before sunset?" Their mother asked. "Both of you came home already late at night!" She sternly said, as the lightning elemental's head boil in anger.

"It's Daun, Mom!" He argued. "He got lost since he went somewhere so I have to look for him just to bring him back home!" He explained, his brown, furious eyes glaring at his little brother who was now sulking on the stairs.

"But, I-" Daun tried to protest but was cut off again by his big brother. And surely, the lightning element would be regretting what he'd just said.

"SHUT UP, YOU IMMATURE, UNGRATEFUL BRAT!"

The leaf elemental's eyes widened with the pupils in his eyes shook as tears started streaming down his face. His lips quivered, then he slightly frowned at his big brother.

"Fine." Daun immediately went to his room and slammed the door shut, locking it afterwards.

"PETIR!" Their mother shouted angrily, making the lightning element faced his mother in annoyance, with his teeth gritted in irritation.

"WHAT?! IT'S TRUE"

"AND YOU TALKED TO YOUR OWN LITTLE BROTHER LIKE THAT!? FOR GOODNESS SAKE, PETIR! IT'S YOUR FAULT SINCE IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP AN EYE ON HIM, AND YOU DIDN'T!"

"WELL, HE SHOULDN'T HAVE WENT SOMEWHERE WITHOUT ME!"

"THEN HOW DID YOU LOSE SIGHT OF HIM!?"

Petir paused as he couldn't say anything. He couldn't even lie to his mother since he never told any lies from his parents. So, he told the truth and gave a deep sigh.

"I...lose sight of him because I was with my friends and all of the sudden, I forgot about him." The lightning element said, his head slightly lowered in guilt. "It is my fault, Mom. I'm sorry..."

Their mother sighed. "It's okay. You need to apologize to your little brother instead..." She softly said.

"Alright, Mom..."

Meanwhile with the leaf element, he was crying uncontrollably in his room while hugging both of his knees.

He couldn't get over of what had happened. And he knew it would haunt him everyday.

After a few minutes, he stopped crying. He lifted his head up, his eyes then became dull.

"Since you have change, I guess I have to change my attitude too."

====================================

Yes, I'm still upset. (About something personal...)

But, I still had the courage to write/type this chapter just to release all my emotions right now.

I don't mean that I'm angry at a certain character but, I'm just really mad and disappointed right now irl. Please forgive me for thinking negatively today. Hope you understand, but I'm fine if some of you are asking...
