Quinton leans in to hear you under a fluorescent lit counter packed with people waiting to get their order in. You take in the room with your eyes as you wait. It looks like half of his high school is here. A girl stands in front of you to take a quick unauthorized selfie with him. He rolls a fry between his fingers uninterested in eating.

"It is starting to get crazy" he tells you.

A small group of guys at his car ask whats up Quinn when you walk over with Quinton. A guy holding a long neck beer bottle inconspicuously laughs in a sweeping snicker "You new to our school?" He continues to ask you things that make you uncomfortable as Quinton says "Yeah just leave her alone she's cool. No, she is not at our school" You were about to cover your long wet sprinkled hair with your hoodie a nervous trait to disappear. Quinton can sense how uncomfortable you are and clicks unlock on his car.

"Where the love go Quinton?" someone calls out from a small group of girls approaching. A girl walks directly to you and raises her phone inches away and snaps a bright paparazzi style flash in your face "Whose this?" she demands.

Quinton moves his body in between you and her as he walks you to the passenger side.

You listen to inaudible words exchanged as he walks to the driver side. "The fuck you will ..." he tells her as he opens the driver side door. As he starts to drive away a glass beer bottle is thrown by her that barely misses his car shattering on the dark wet pavement. He stops and flashes his brake lights as if he was going to drive reserve back to them before he shifts gear to take you home

"I was not THAT hungry" you finally let out with a what-was-that anger.

When he starts laughing it is contagious and you start laughing although you wanted to stay angry.

"Why do you put up with that?" you ask.

"Still have some people I still know; but yeah that is one reason I can't wait to move to L.A."
