Chapter 7
Alex
Parties are getting fewer and fewer as final exams sweep everyone away. None of my friends or I have been able to get together, not even for coffee.
Surprisingly, I haven't heard from Char since the day I gave her the house key. A brief message told me that she is so full of projects that she hasn't had time to eat a good meal.
The sky is so dark that it's disappointing that you can't even see the stars.
"Why don't we go to your place?" A whisper tickles my ear.
My frosty beer in my hand is almost empty, and the blond girl in front of me smiles sensually at me. Her eyes look glassy, but I know she hasn't had that much to drink.
"Sure." I say this before joining my lips with hers.
Even though my body had been dead, I needed to go out for a drink. Mosi thought the same thing, so we went for a few beers before joining a group of girls.
The girl's hands seek to lift my shirt as his body hits the front door of the house.
My hands try to pry the door open, but it's difficult when her tongue is inside my mouth.
I pull away as best I can, opening as the girl's mouth begins to kiss my neck.
I open the door, grabbing her by the waist as our lips meet again before pulling us both inside.
We stand there for a few minutes, facing the door, toying with each other, when a noise upstairs makes me stop.
"What's wrong?" the girl asks, reaching for my lips, and I smile nervously.
"Nothing, why don't you freshen up a bit in the bathroom? I'll go upstairs and get a speaker to play some music," I tell her, and the girl smiles.
She kisses my lips and bites the bottom one a little before walking away from me.
I see her go into the bathroom, smile at her before she closes the door, and run upstairs.
I walk down the hallway but stop in front of my bedroom door.
I patted my bags, feeling stupid for not grabbing anything, so I could defend myself.
What if it's a thief?
I flung the door open, trying to have the element of surprise in my favor.
A girl's scream startles me.
I close the door behind me, and she comes up to me, covering her mouth.
We stand still; she's startled, and I'm trying to listen for noise downstairs, hoping with all my soul that the girl downstairs didn't hear anything.
When I hear nothing, I take my hand away from her mouth and look at her.
"What are you doing here?" Char opens her mouth but doesn't say anything, she stirs uncomfortably, and that's when I notice she's in a towel.
A towel and nothing else.
I turn around, placing a hand over my eyes. I sigh, counting to three.
"Char, can you explain to me what you're doing here?" I hear a noise behind me. It's not until I feel it touch my shoulder that I turn around.
I swallow, trying to breathe, because the sight in front of me is no better than the image of her in a towel.
An image that, I'm sure, won't leave my brain for a while.
Her long legs are showing, and one of my white formal shirts is what covers her body. Her wet hair makes some sides show through.
All my strength is concentrated on keeping my eyes fixed on her eyes, not on her breasts, which are almost in sight due to the lack of a bra.
"Char..." My voice sounds huskier, and the blush on her cheeks makes me understand that she may know why.
"I was nearby, at a classmate's house, doing a project and I stained my clothes. I didn't want the stain to remain because..." her voice drops a little. "It's the only uniform I have at the moment, if I waited until I got home, I wouldn't go out because of that." She looks down at her bare feet.
I sigh and nod.
"It's okay. It's okay, it's okay." I say, Char is nervous, watching every movement of my body, trying to see if I'm angry.
But angry wouldn't be the word I'd use right now. Not with her looking the way she looks. In front of me. Not when my body is sensitive from the... Previous stimulation.
Shit, I need to get out of here.
"I'll go, I think my clothes are ready," she says, walking towards the door, but I grab her arm.
"Wait." Her eyes look at me confused. I pull my hand away, in fact, I pull my whole body away from her. " I have... Visitors." Char raises an eyebrow, but from my silence, she understands what kind of visitor I have.
"Oh" were her only words.
And I feel like shit.
Why am I embarrassed that this little girl knows who comes into my house?
"I can go into the laundry room and out the back door."
I nod, analyzing her words and not her little body, which has moved closer to me, knowing there's someone downstairs whispering every word.
"Good idea." My voice comes out hoarse again, and the girl turns away." I'm going to... Distract her, you, be quiet." I say, and she just gives a thumbs up.
I leave the room and sigh.
I blink, trying as hard as I can to make the image go away.
Oh, God.
I walk down the steps and find the girl staring at a painting.
I move closer, and she smiles at me before throwing herself into my arms. Her mouth seeks mine, but when I hear footsteps coming down the stairs, I pull away from her just enough to bring our lips within inches of each other.
"Do you want something to drink?" I ask, and she nods.
I put my hand on her lower back and guided her into the living room, opposite the kitchen, where the wall would hide Char until she came out.
The blonde girl approaches the bar, looks at the amount of alcohol, and chooses what she wants to drink. I smile at her and grab the glasses.
Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Char's little body running barefoot to the kitchen.
The blonde girl looks up, and I smile at her, pouring us a drink.
We chat for a while, drink and laugh.
It's the sound of the microwave that makes me freeze.
The blonde girl raises an eyebrow.
"Are you cooking something?" she says, her body wanting to address the sound.
I take her arm and turn her toward me. I grab her hip and kiss her.
The girl doesn't resist.
"Stay here, I'll bring it over here." I say, and before she protests, I kiss her again.
I push her hips to the couch, pull her drink closer to her, and kiss her once before running to the kitchen.
My mouth drops open as I enter the kitchen.
Char's panicked eyes turn to look at me. She sighs in relief when she sees me.
Char is on the counter, her legs spread wide enough that I have to look away urgently.
"What are you doing?" I say, stepping closer to her to keep my eyes from dropping past her neck.
"I forgot I left food here." She looks at me smiling, somewhere between teasing and embarrassed by the situation. "I'll just take it out and go."
Char settles on the counter and reaches out her hand to press the button on the microwave, which is on a fairly high shelf. Char, from where she is, tries to pull the dish out, but it gets knocked off balance.
I completely closed the distance between us. I position myself between her legs and raise my arm fast enough so that the plate stabilizes and doesn't fall and shatter.
I feel his little laugh in my hair. I drop my forehead on his shoulder, feeling every movement of his laughter.
"You're going to kill me." I say this as the girl's laughter starts to get a little louder.
My free hand is placed on the countertop, right next to her hip, and my body tenses.
Char notices, she's aware of the position we're in, the closeness of our bodies, and my breathing being a little more agitated than normal.
Hers becomes irregular, but it's not exactly because of the laughter.
I swallow and sigh slowly.
I slowly lower my hand, leaving the plate next to her.
My other free hand goes to her side, and still with my forehead on her shoulder, I allow myself to breathe in a little of her scent. Smell that is mixed with a bit of cologne from my shirt.
And that's when I remembered.
Char is only wearing my shirt.
I look up slowly. Char's eyes are looking at me, her cheeks are red, her eyes are dark, and her lips are a little open.
"Char." My hoarse voice makes me close my eyes.
"Alex?" My hands take Char by the waist, and I lift her off the counter, not avoiding noticing that the shirt lifts a little, setting her on the floor. I hand her the plate and push her gently toward the laundry.
Before closing the door, the girl gives me a teasing smile, and while biting a piece of pizza that was on the plate, I smile back.
"What's taking you so long?" the blonde girl appears, and I'm so afraid to look around, to see if Char left something behind by mistake.
"Sorry, come." I say, stretching out a hand for the girl to come over to me.
