"I squeeze my eyes shut, feeling a light shine through my eye lids, hearing a something say-..."

[Chapter 15]

"Y/N! What are you trying to do?! Kill yourself?" she screamed at you through whispers. "You know you shouldn't just run around everywhere, we don't even know where we are- goodness, you've had a near death experience twice!" You smiled sheepishly at her worry as she glared at you for being careless.

"Fine, don't worry I won't do it again..." You rolled your eyes at her playfully, giving her a light nudge as you giggled.

Her expression turned a serious, looking you dead in the eyes "No seriously, you gotta be careful", you sweat dropped, promising yourself. "Now, I'll go back to collecting the batteries, take care" Amilia added in a sing- song tone, lightly patting your shoulder.

Your eyes turned to her, watching as she slowly disappear in darkness. Turning to what you were doing, you realized the path was gone; disappointing my curiosity.

A small ray of light caught your attention, turning your trusty flashlight to the left corner of the room, waiting for a reflector. ''sweet, another one!'' you rushed to collect the new found battery as you whispered to yourself.

Leaving the room was a piece of cake, so as finding three other of the required batteries. You neared the theater room, standing on the stage as you carefully put in each battery within it's place.

After you were done, you turned to leave before bumping into a familiar somebody, who else would it be. "Goodness, scared me there.." you flashed the light upon her face. She smiled down at you; "How many did you find?" she spoke up. ''So far I have four''

"Ah, what a shame, I've only got two of them." She chuckled quietly, placing them into the machine.

The two of you parted ways once again, now climbing down the ladder at the end of the Sublevel -A from earlier, you were happily greeted with the flickering of lights which was stabilized not long after, blinding you. Slowly adjusting your eyes to the return of lights, you looked around, knowing all was quite well done-... for now.

The little cheers of accomplishment slowly quieten as the speakers were spoken through; "now that the lights are back on, I wanted to say goodbye by giving you a goodbye party..." After he went quiet, you furrowed your brows at this, a goodbye party you say... It must be some sort of a trap!

You thought to myself, thinking about what this guy could have set up for all of you next until something caught my ears. Soft shuffling was heard through the silence, you turned your head towards the sound, now at the pathway of Sublevel-A.

As curiosity took over you again, you slowly followed it, stopping when it became clear where the shuffling came from. Your eyes darted from point to another as you peaked from behind the metal wall, witnessing the blue creature.

It was curled up into a ball on the floor with it's head in it's arms, lying ontop of scattered leaves. It's back heaving along with it's calm breathing.

You continued to admire the resting mascot which no longer looked as hostile as when you had first encountered it, mesmerized, as something in your head wanted to try to approach it: you shook your head in denial.

You zoned off once more, questioning; ''maybe we can try to go to it while it's asleep..''

''what can ever go wrong?''

You slowly tip- toed to it, focusing on where your feet went. ''don't wanna step on one of those leaves and get eaten like one of those horror movies.''

After what seems like a minute, you became at least 20 centimeters away, so you stop and gently crouch behind it, cringing in pain at the quiet popping from your knees.

And you stay there, wandering in your mind what you'd do now.

Looking back at 'Blue', you observed the being, it was way larger when it's up close. It's fur thicker than the silence filling the air.
As you contemplated it, you hadn't noticed the small squeaks in the background.

You reached your hand, wanting to try pet it before an arm wrapped around your waist, holding you up.

Scared, you wanted to scream for help but you couldn't, it would make things worse anyways, so all you did was attempt to escape it's grip around you.

You panicked when it started pulling you closer to it's face, planning to eat you now. A few moments of struggling and you managed to jump out of it's arm at the last second before what you thought to be death.

It followed your steps, so you ran out of there but it didn't seem to leave, it took long steps which made it easier to get you back.

Now being cornered, you couldn't do anything to avoid being killed. The green mascot held you up again, bringing you close to it's head.

...

You weren't welcomed by the coldness of death, infact when you opened your eyes, it only held you close.

Confused why you weren't dead yet, you looked at it while it seemed to enjoy your warmth. You reached to pet it's head cautiously, when it leaned into your touch.

So you pulled your hand away in fear at the sudden response, slowly realizing it only wanted more; and more you gave it.

"you're a friendly one.. eh..." You muttered under your breath, unsure if it was actually nice or this was a trick to fall in, you couldn't fully trust it.

But it only leaned closer, closing it eyes almost as if it was begging for more.

You earned a few purrs out of it, nonetheless it let you go while it understood the meaning of freedom.

Happy that it put you down, you gave it a few pats on the knee for a goodbye so it turned to leave, followed by the familiar squeaking.

Standing there, you slowly remembered what you were doing in the first place, so you went back to what you now call the 'shower rooms'. You looked in, only to find nothing there.

You slowly entered the space it had slept in, looking around cautiously, when you heard a soft huff above you.

You froze immediately, not willing to turn around because this time you knew whatever was behind you this time, was not so friendly.

You turned your head, your body following the movement as well. It looked down at you, angered it had been awoken from it's slumber.

It attacked you, pouncing at you as you fall to the ground with a sharp gasp, trying to leave it's heavy seize but it only pulls you closer.

You couldn't do anything but scream for help, thrashing as you realized you were helpless.

It growled so you stopped moving, tears of horror on the edge of falling from your eyes.

You were accepting your fate once again when you heard a loud gun shot.

it immediately flinched and let you go, backing away as it clutched it's arm with a growl.

You watched it run off, almost losing your life again when you heard someone talk behind you.

"You, you're Amilia's buddy aren't ya?" You turned to face the person, it was not your friend, some other blond guy.

''Who are you?'' You stood up and stepped back, still startled with everything that had happened, especially the fact this guy has a gun.

"You don't remember me? Well I'm Jasper, the one who sits in the back corner of your class if you remember." He had a monotone voice, he looked like he was one to expect dark intentions from so you decided to not befriend him.

''I don't... think I remember...'' You gave him a bit of a confused side eye when you remember what he had done.

"You are (Y/N), I suppose?" He smiled, but it didn't seem as genuine, but you nodded.

''Why did you even... Why did you even do that..'' you stammered, slowly processing everything that happened earlier.

"Do what?" He replied with the same smile, you didn't like him already yet he was pushing you to become his friend for no reason, and the fact he was annoyed you didn't remember him got you disgusted.

''You shot the poor thing!- Where did you even get a gun?'' You started to glare at him, even if it tried to kill you, it was awful for you to see it get hurt.

"Didn't it try to kill you? Are you like crazy or something?-" You cut him off before he had the chance to say anymore ''shut up!- just leave already!...'' you yelled with a small laugh, how much cruelty can he be of already...

He looked you up and down, scornfully scoffing as he turned and left.

You sat in the corner where it slept, letting go of the tears you had held on.

You regret hurting it like that.. you regret everything, he's probably going to your friend to tell her how much of a mad person you are...

Are you really going to lose the one person you had this whole time?..

You were to distracted with the loud vortex of thoughts to notice it had silently watched you, peaking from behind the door.

It noticed your guilt, slowly approaching you while you sit there.

You slowly raised your head from your knees, wiping away some tears while it froze, not wanting to scare you away.

It continued to approach you after you had hid your face once again, it was right infront of you when you noticed it. You tried to run but it pushed you back, but it wasn't as aggressive anymore.

You gave up trying to run off and looked at it, confused with what it wants from you now. You realized this and nodded hesitantly.

It seemed to be happy you forgave it and pulled you into a sudden hug.

You were taken back with it burying you into it's fur, looks like they were all friendly but some were a bit aggressive than others.

You slowly wrapped it's arms around it's torso as well, ''thank you..'' you smiled.

It gave you a soft hum, patting your head as it pulled back and picked you up, curling up to exactly where it slept earlier, nesting you in it's arms as it slumbered.

You looked at it's bleeding arm where it must've been shot.. you felt bad for hurting it like this...

Comfortable, you decided to sleep as well when you remembered where you had to be, gently patting it's head; ''Sorry buddy.. I must go now, I promise I'll come back for you..''

A small growl came from it as it opened it's eye a little, looking at you as it didn't want you to leave.

''I'm so sorry.... I promise..'' You smiled once more as it listened and let you go, giving you a lick over your cheek as a goodbye.

You chuckled and hugged it again, and it seemed a bit startled with the gesture of affection from you as well.

''bye bye'' you waved and let go, smiling as you left it to sleep, running back halfway.

Boy were you late..

You made it back, just in time as they awaited your arrival, Amilia stood at the gate, angered and worried. "Goodness- are you hurt? That thing..." She held your face with her hand, checking for any injuries when you slowly pushed her hand away, locking eyes.

"I am fine... Nothing happened, Amilia.." she looked at you with disbelief, when her expression changed completely.

She looked at you with a grin, happy almost to the point she would jump in joy; "(Y/N)!! I forgot to tell you! I got a new boyfriend!!" She chirped.

You raised your brows in surprise "You did? Who is it, are they here?" you tilted your head, smiling at her proudly.

"Yes he is here, I think he'd love to meet you!!"
