"WE ONLY GOT ONE SHOT, SO WE NEED TO GET IT RIGHT."

Y/N explained, sitting down on the floor of her heavily guarded facility cell as she entered to void to telepathically communicate with her father.

She paced impatiently in the darkness of the void as her father stood while thinking of a plan with no way of it going wrong.

They had been going over ways to escape, all of them always ending up either putting them in a life threatening situation, or getting recaptured.

There seemed to be no other way to escape than risking their lives, so they would just have to deal with that.

They would need to somehow distract the guards in front of their cells that are always there, and somehow find their way to the gate's opening to escape.

She then remembered the skill sets that were given to them. "Wait, I think I got it."

Y/N earned her father's attention as she stopped pacing, turning to look at the ground while she thought it over.

It could work, if they did it right. She ran the plan by her father, explaining the entirety of it and hoped he would approve.

Hopper furrowed his eyebrows for a minute. "You really think it's gonna work?" He asked, curiously.

Y/N exhaled, shoving her hands in her black colored prison jumpsuit pockets. "It has to."

"Then let's do it." Hopper nodded confidently, placing a hand on Y/N's shoulder. "Let's get out of here." He believed in his daughter. Together, they could take on any soldier or anything that got in their way.

And they would win.

It wasn't more than a moment before Y/N exited the void and opened her grey eyes to find herself sitting in her cell again.

Her grey eyes cleared to disperse into her actual eye color while she sniffled, knowing her nose would be bleeding if it weren't for her gift.

Gift. It's was almost funny to call what new unnatural abilities she had as a gift.
It was more like a tortured necessity forced upon her by a psychotic doctor that planned on using her for his own benefit.

But now, she planned on using her abilities that Dr. Brenner cursed her with, against him.

This is what he deserved.

Y/N got up from her cell floor, straightening out her crinkled jumpsuit before darting to the door, the hatch where her food was supposed come in was still open from earlier.

She peeked through the open hatch, looking into the hallway where she saw her guard pacing in front of her door.
She looked to see the cell door just across from hers, seeing her dad look through his own hatch with his hands slightly peeking out.

He glanced at her, exchanging look of encouragement.

"Psst," Y/N called from her low hatch to her guard standing tall above her, "Can I talk to you for a minute?" She asked.

Her guard ignored her, continuing his paces as he held his protective gun in its dormant position.

She rolled her eyes, looking across the hall to her father who shrugged.

"Hey." Y/N took the more forceful approach this time. Her guard then turned to look at her irritatedly. "Why don't you let me out of this cell, and maybe, just maybe, I won't kill you when I get out?"

The guard held his serious gaze, as if he were seriously considering it.

But then, he scoffed, beginning to laugh as his darkened teeth showed themselves while he turned to laugh with his comrade that guarded Hopper's cell.
"Eta devushka bredit!" He laughed loudly.

Hopper and Y/N exchanged confused glances before she tuned into what they were saying.

"Izvini malen'kaya devochka dlya nauchnogo eksperimenta vy ochen' glupy." He spat, still laughing at her.

Y/N smiled sarcastically as rolled her eyes, sticking her hand out of the hatch to raise her middle finger and flip them off behind their backs. "Mudak." This earned her guard's attention, making him turn around at his surprise that she spoke a little Russian.

Then, it was Hopper's turn.

"Hey," Hopper then called for his guard, earning his attention. "Hey, come here for a second."

Hopper's cell guard stopped laughing with his comrade to go over and decide to entertain him like he did Y/N. "What you want? You want me to let you go too?" He snickered.

Hopper smiled, chuckling dryly as he leaned his head down for a moment. "Well, yeah. Yeah, maybe that could work."

When he looked up, his eyes had turned the lightest shade of his original eye color, blue.

The guard's smile wiped off his face as he looked taken aback, Hopper reaching his hand out to forcefully grip the guard's wrist as he  gripped his gun tighter.

Hopper yanked the guard to come down closer to the opening of the hatch, the guard now becoming eye level with him. He then moved his other hand to grip the color of his uniform.

The guard looked at Hopper's eyes, and couldn't help but look closer at the color, but that was only step one. Hopper then used the grip that he had on the guard's wrist, to his advantage.

Hopper squinted, corners of his mouth curling with a knowing smirk. "You want to let us go..don't you?" He questioned smugly.

The guard found himself being locked in almost what you would call a trance. "N-Net, konechno net!" He resisted against Hopper's grip on his collar.

Hopper chuckled, amused. He then directed his gaze towards the guard's, his gaze was stern. "Yeah you do," Hopper nodded encouragingly, his voice low with intimidation, "You really want to get up, unlock my cell, and open my door."

Almost like a switch, the guard suddenly felt the having urge to comply. He stopped his struggle to get free from his grip.

"I want to get up, unlock your cell, and open your door." He stated in his Russian accent, now very eager to please.

He had been eased into being compliant. It was Hopper's affect that he had using his empathic abilities.

"Oh you do? Well, why didn't you just say so!" Hopper exclaimed, playing along with the act.

"Go ahead, unlock it, man! Don't let me stop you." Hopper was amused, watching as he played the game that his powers gave him.

Hopper then released the guard's collar that was clenched in his fist, watching from the hatch opening at the guard stood up to fumble with his keys on his belt loop, looking for his cell door one.

The guard found the key, and with a shaking and entranced demeanor, he reached to input the key into Hopper's cell lock.

"Privet! Chto vy delayete?" Y/N's Russian guard was now alert of the situation, but she tried her best to distract him while Hopper worked his 'voodoo' powers.

But it was too late.

The guard had already twisted the lock open, thus allowing the door to become unlocked.

With a wide swing, the door opened to reveal Hopper standing there, his eyes a light intimidating shade that signaled his use of his abilities.

The guard that unlocked the door stepped aside, allowing Hopper to walk into the hallway, earning a very confused glance from Y/N's guard.

He cocked the gun and aimed it at Hopper's head, waiting for further explanation. "Chto, chert voz'mi, ty sdelal?" The guard exclaimed worriedly to his comrade, earning no response.

The guard then turned his gaze back to Hopper, who stood confidently in the hall. The guard's gun was shaking as he pointed it at Hopper, who didn't seem scared.

Hopper turned slightly towards the guard that had been put in the light trance. "Unlock my daughter's cell door."

The guard that aimed the gun looked at his comrade surprisingly as he complied without any hesitation, walking towards his comrade to yank his own set of keys off his belt loop to unlock Y/N's cell door.

"What did you do to him?" The guard fearfully asked in a shaking accent, staring into Hopper's pale eyes. "What are you making him do?"

"I mean, I'm not doing anything, your friend is doing this all himself. I'm not making him do anything, he's just reacting to me." Hopper shrugged, as if this were the most nonchalant conversation as he stood in his prison hallway.

The complaint guard unlocked Y/N's cell door, prompting her to stand up from her viewing position at the hatch door. She shot up, looking at the guard who seemed to be not all there as he opened the cell door for her.

Y/N exhaled shakily, walking towards the exit before taking a quick look one last time behind her.
This cell was the place of her nightmares. The place where she grew into the monster she was made to be.

Without another thought, she took a step out of her cell doorframe, earning a terrified look from the guard that pointed the gun at Y/N's father.

"Get back in cell!" He shouted at Y/N, trying to seem forceful, but his voice shook.

He was scared of them. He knew things, and he knew what they could do.

The guard then turned to point the gun at Y/N, earning an uneasy look. "I will shoot her if you don't return to cells!"

Hopper put his hands up cautiously, trying to inch closer as his eyes cleared their color to revert back to their usual shade.
"Hey, hey, hey." He eased loudly, trying to get his attention away from Y/N.

The guard turned his head to see Hopper trying to calm him down, but he wasn't making this easy for him.
"No! Back away, before I put bullet between her eyes!" His voice slick with fearful aggression. He wasn't playing around.

But neither was Hopper. He didn't like what he said about his daughter earlier, nor did he like that the gun was pointed at her.

But Hopper was taking too long in trying to calm the guard down since he couldn't get him under his empathic grip, so his abilities couldn't work in this case.

In a hurried motion, Y/N's eyes diluted to their grey color as her hand raised to flick the gun out of the guard's grasp, his eyes widened as he turned to look fearfully at her.

"Look," Y/N began, her eyes still fiercely grey as she took a bold step forward towards the guard, "If you don't want us to kill you, then you better run."

There was this unexplainable rage that just began to surface within her, like all her anger and resentment just started to act out all at once. It was the blood.

She hadn't taken her mediating pills at all, so her power was entirely raw and released.

Hopper nodded in agreement, watching as the guard ran down the quiet hall of almost empty cells, turning the corner with shouts.

The father and daughter stood there, heavily breathing with surprise.

"Well," Hopper began, "I guess our plan worked." He shrugged, adding, "You know he's probably gonna trigger the alarm soon, right?"

Y/N nodded, looking down the hall where the guard ran off, then to the guard that stood next to Hopper in his temporary trance.

"Yeah, it'll make things interesting." Y/N joked, constantly looking over her shoulder to make sure no soldiers came flooding in yet. "Let's hurry this up." She told her father.

Hopper nodded, turning to look at the guard that stood there blankly, now being held by the shoulders by Hopper. "Hey, I know you want to go after your friend and stop him, right?"

The guard stared blankly as he nodded hesitantly.
He was starting to come-to slowly. Hopper noticed,  and turned to push the guard, easing him to leave. "Go, now!"

The guard still complied, and ran as they watched. "Alright, come on." Y/N began to walk away, leading her father to come with her.

"Wait, what about the rest of them?" Hopper called out, referring to the other prisoner experiments in their cells.
Y/N stopped walking, her back facing Hopper as she shook her head.

These were the prisoner experiments that always tried to kill her in combat. These were the same ones that taught her to fight for her life by putting it at risk every training day.

Some were even willingly loyal to Brenner, some were brainwashed from the pills, so either way they would only get in their way if she let them out.

"No." She stated boldly, her fists balled subconsciously at the thought of the experiments hurting her or her father again.

The same rage bubbled inside her again, the dangerous kind. It was unchecked, it wasn't safe. It's the blood, it's the blood, stop it.

"Kid," Hopper walked forward to her, somehow knowing what was happening with Y/N. "I know they're douchebags, and that they've done some shit to us, but that doesn't mean we should leave them when we have the chance and power to help them out."

Y/N turned around, her breathing heavy.

She made harsh eye contact with her father, who gave her an encouraging look. Her eyes softened.

Suddenly, her hand released the fist she made and opened it sharply, the cell doors suddenly flying open around Y/N as she subconsciously opened them all.

With the cell doors opened, just as she suspected, the experiments would be no help to them.
They immediately looked out their cell, and rushed to exit for themselves, running past
Y/N and her father, leaving them alone once again.

It was up to the father and daughter to escape out of the heavily guarded underground secret facility, themselves.

"Now," Y/N announced, giving her father a, I told you so, look. "Let's get out of here."
She was a stubborn one, a trait she got from her father.

Hopper smiled proudly, knowing she was right, nodding as he followed his daughter. "That's my girl."
