19. O.M.G

All eyes were on me when I raced through the doors of the boarding house. Stefan, Jeremy, Elena, Damon and another man were all in the living room. The new man, who I assumed was Elijah, had dark hair and wore a waistcoat. He was good looking, but nothing compared to...well you know who I was gonna say.

"I thought you had a date with Matt?" Elena asked.

"This is more important." I said obviously. I shut the door, walked over to the couch and sat down next to Jeremy.

"Nina." Elijah nodded. He stuck his hand out and I nervously shook it. "I'm Elijah."

"I know." I looked over at Damon and he gave me a weak, painful smile. "How are you holding up?"

"It stings like a bitch." He muttered. "But I'm gonna pull, through this. Elijah told us about a cure."

"Thank God." I sighed. I looked over to Elijah and shot him a pleading look. "Are you gonna help us get it?"

"Well, I will help but I also need something in return...from you Nina."

"Yeah, anything." I promised.

"I'll get Damon the cure, if you give yourself over to Klaus."

Wow. That was...big. Wouldn't Klaus sacrifice me and break the curse? Wouldn't I die? Could I even do that? Could I let myself die for a vampire that I had only known for a few months?

"Will he kill me?" I asked slowly.

"No." Elijah promised. "I wouldn't allow it. It's all a part of the plan I've come up with. I'll kill Klaus before he can break the curse."

"How?" Stefan asked.

"Well, you'll probably be surprised when I tell you that the sun and moon curse isn't real. It's a fake.  Klaus made it up back in the15th century. He made it up so that vampires and werewolves would be on his side and help him break the real curse."

"What's the real curse?" Damon asked, clutching his wrist again.

"Klaus is a hybrid." Elijah explained. "He's not my full brother, only half. His real Father was from a werewolf bloodline. So basically, Elijah is a vampire but a werewolf as well. Unfortunatley for him, a witch cast a spell on him so that his werewolf side would remain dormant. The only way that he can power it up again is by killing a werewolf, vampire and doppleganger on the full moon. If he does this, then he'll be a true hybrid."

From that moment on, pretty much all of us were in shock. Elijah finally let out a nervous laugh and sat down next to me and Jeremy on the couch.

"I'm a little behind in times but I believe the phrase that you are looking for is OMG?" He asked, smirking a little.

"So Klaus is going to kill me?" I guessed.

"No." Elijah said. "I'll give you some vampire blood before you hand yourself over. Klaus will kill the werewolf, then vampire...then you. And just as he is in transformation, a witch will come out and use a spell against him. Klaus will weaken, and then I'll come in and rip his heart out. So, yes technically you will die...but you'll become a vampire."

"Oh..." I said. "Well...for Damon, yes."

"No." Damon moaned. "That's stupid. Don't buy yourself a one way ticket into vampireville just so that I don't die."

"You're my friend Damon and I will not let you die." I snapped. "And whether you admit it or not, you want me to do this. You don't want to die."

Damon didn't say anything, so I guessed that I overruled his refusion.

"How will you get the cure?" I asked Elijah.

"That's the hard bit...I can only get the cure once Klaus is a hybrid. That's the cure you see, a hybrid's blood. But he's not a full one yet, so it wont work."

"Wait, but that means that you've gotta wait a fricking month!" Damon growled. "I'll be dead in a week!"

"Actually, if you drink wolfsbane the process of dying should slow down." Elijah shrugged.

"So...if I drink wolfsbane then I'm going to live?"

"Yes. But that only works for at least a month. After that, you'll need Klaus's blood or else you'll die."

"Thankyou." I said to Elijah. "And I promise that I'll help out. But what about the other vampire and werewolf? Who will they be?"

"From what I've heard, it will be Tyler Lockwood and Caroline Forbes."

"What?!" Me and Elena cried at once. "No, no, no. Caroline can't die! And Tyler..."

"Tyler can rot in hell." Jeremy sighed. "Wasn't he gonna use you?"

"Well yeah but...what about Caroline?"

"If you're so attatched to these then I can try and persuade Klaus to pick some other people?" Elijah suggested. I know it was selfish, but I couldn't let them die. Me and Elena both nodded.

"Klaus is a bitch." Damon muttered. I was going to laugh in agreement, but then Damon let out a hurtfilled moan. Desperatley, I hurried to his side and clutched his arm. Looking at the wolf bite, it didn't look good.

"How are you feeling?" I asked.

"Like Jennifer when Brad dumped her." He cursed. "Does not feel good."

I looked at Elijah. "Should he go lie down?"

"Probably. And someone should go get some wolfsbane and put it in some water."

"I'll do that." Stefan offered. I nodded in agreement and then wrapped my arm around Damon's body. I helped him limp slowly upstairs and he directed me to his room; which was still bare and had nothing in apart from a bed. Didn't vampires like good rooms?

Shrugging that off, I led Damon over to the bed and helped him lay down on it. I threw the blankets over him and then took a seat on the mattress.

"Help me get my shirt off?" He asked.

Shakily, I nodded and then leaned over to Damon. I lifted up the bottom of his black shirt and then pulled it up over his head, and then gently slid the sleves from his arm. I looked at his still amazingly toned, muscley body and then dropped his shirt down.

"And my jeans?"

"No." I said, shaking my head.

"Why?" Damon pouted. "It hurts to move!"

I frowned. "Are you wearing boxers?"

"Of course, what do you take me for?"

I rolled my eyes and then threw the blankets off Damon again. He unbuttoned his jeans with his good hand, and then I helped him pull them off. Thankfully, he was wearing boxers.

"Thankyou." Damon said, almost sincerley. I nodded and he gave me a little smile.

"Get in." He ordered, smirking a little. I didn't want to, but I did. It was weird, like I was torn between right and wrong. But either way, I jumped next to Damon and then pulled the blankets over both of us.

"You know, you can take your clothes off as well...."

"Shut up." I muttered and snuggled into his shoulder. He took my hand with his good arm and then he sighed deeply.

"What would you feel like if I died?"

"Satisfied." I said. Damon's face looked shocked, so I rolled my eyes. "I'm kidding, Damon. I'd be really upset. I don't want you to die."

"That's good." He nodded. "I'm glad."

"You really are, aren't you?"

"Nina, when are you going to realize that I like you in a way that I've only liked one other girl?" He asked. It didn't take a genius to figure out he was talking about Katherine, so I was quite flattered actually.

"Damon..." I said slowly. "We can't...and you know we can't."

"I know. But we can imagine." He sighed. "And, if we don't get Klaus's blood, then that can be my dying wish. For you to kiss me."

"Don't worry, we'll get his blood." I promised. "And if we don't..."

"Then I'm out of a kiss." He muttered.

"Is a kiss even worth dying for?"

"If it was from you. I'd die for you Nina. I know it's a little overdramatic of me, but I really would."

Unthinkingly, I brushed a hand down Damon's face. "I am dying for you."

"You don't need to become a vampire for me....It's not worth it."

"You're worth it." I assured him.

Damon then pulled me in closer with his good arm and he gently kissed my cheek. Though I longed for it to be more, I settled with that and just enjoyed the closeness of our bodies.
