12. Rose

"We beat you!" I screamed with pride as Stefan and Elena finally walked through the doors of the Salvatore Boarding house. Damon was lying on the couch with a book in hand, and Stelena dumped their bags down before closing the door.

"That's because you guys ran home and me and Elena got a plane." Stefan pointed out. Elena giggled a little and I shrugged.

"So when's Rose getting here?" Stefan asked Damon. Damon snapped his book shut and sat up in a sitting position.

"Any minute now." He said.

"And you're sure that she'll help us?" Elena checked.

"Me and Rose are very...close, in a way. She'll help." He replied.

"Close?" I choked, then suddenly feeling everyone's eyes on me. I shook my head and they dropped my question. This wasn't the time to alert everyone that you also liked Damon; even though he was working on getting over his 'like like' problem with me.

Anyways, 3 knocks banged on the door and I jumped up to my feet. I rushed over and then opened the door to find myself facing a very beautiful women. Great. She had cropped golden hair and a tanned face. She wore black jeans and black vest top, and she growled as soon as she saw me.

"Katerina." She hissed.

"No, I'm Nina. The doppleganger." I explained, sticking my hand out. Rose shook it and seemed to force a smile.

"Oh yes. Damon told me. Apparently there's another one?" She asked.

"My sister." I nodded.

"Hmm. Well are you going to invite me in?"

"Oh. Um...would you like to come in?" I said, unsure of myself. Rose nodded and then simply walked passed me, brushing my shoulder almost purposely as she enterred the main room. I closed the door and followed after her. She stopped once she saw Damon, but Damon stood to his feet and walked over to Rose.

"Damon Salvatore." She murmured, grinning a little. Damon smirked back and much to my dislike, he wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her up. Her legs wrapped around his hips and without a question, they kissed.

After the makeout session, Rose pulled off.

"Rose." Damon slurred, still smirking. "I've missed you."

"I know you have." She said. "But unfortunatley, I'm not here to pick up from where we left last time. I'm here for buisiness."

"Of course." Damon nodded. He set Rose down and she looked at Stelena.

"Stefan Salvatore." She smiled. "How've you been?"

"Good, Rose. What about you?" He asked back.

She shrugged. "As good as you can get whilst running from an original." 

"Of course."

"So, you must be Elena, right?" Rose asked, changing her direction.

"That's me." Elena smiled. "Nice to meet you, and thankyou for doing this."

"It's no problem." She assured her. "So, what would you beautiful people like to know?"

"Well." Damon said as he slumped back down on the couch. Childishly, once I saw that Rose was going to make her way over and sit next to him, I pretty much ran to take the seat. Damon eyed me suspiciously and Rose scowled, but I just sat back. Damon cleared his throat and continued.

"We need to know who the originals are and how powerful they are. Also, we need to know how to get the moonstone."

"Moonstone?" I asked.

"Very important item that's used to break the curse." He explained.

"Wait, so let me get this straight." Elena said. "Werewolves want to get the moonstone and me or Nina, so they can hand us over to the originals. Then we'll be sacrificed?"

"Pretty much." Rose shrugged. "Werewolves will break the curse itself, but they need the originals help to do so. Vampires will do the same."

"And where is the moonstone?" I asked.

"That's the tricky bit." Rose said. "The last time I saw the moonstone, was when I saw Katherine. My friend Trevor had helped her escape the originals and brought her to our home. She had the moonstone."

"Wait, wait, wait." Damon said, rubbing his chin. "How did little miss Katherine even get the moonstone?"

"She befriended one of the originals. The same one that's chasing Trevor and I. His name is Elijah. He had a certain interest in Katherine and almost...as you could say, fell in love with her. His brother Klaus, who is the post powerful original, he wanted to sacrifice Katherine to break the curse. Elijah went behind his brothers back, took the moonstone, gave it to Katherine and told her to run. She did and Trevor found her in the woods. He brought her back to mine and she used us to turn herself into a vampire."

"That little bitch." Damon growled. "So Katherine had the moonstone?"

"Yes."

"But Katherine's dead!" Stefan hissed. "How the hell do we find it now?"

"Well, that's another thing that I might not have mentioned to you and Damon." Rose said, her voice trailing off. "Katherine...didn't die in the church that night. None of the vampires did. Do you remember Emily Bennet?"

"Who's that?" I asked.

"She was a witch back in 1864, the year that Katherine supposedly died." Stefan explained. "Go on, Rose."

"Well, Emily used a spell to create a tomb underneath the church. All 27 vampires were taken into that tomb and are still there today. Katherine however, spoke to one of the guards. He was obsessed with her, and since she promised to turn him into a vampire, he let her go. She's alive."

"She would have come to me." Damon snapped, fury in his eyes.

"No she wouldn't have Damon." Stefan assured him. "Our love for Katherine wasn't real."

"Damon it's ok." I said, even though I wasn't sure what this all meant. This was the 1st I'd heard of 27 vampires and 1864 having witches. But I thought it would be best if I just kept quiet.

"I'm gonna find her." Damon said. "I'm gonna find her, get that moonstone, and then I'm going to kill her. I'm going to peel the skin from her face."

"Do that then." Stefan said. "But first we have to find her and then get the moonstone. Also we need to get information off her as well. She knows this Klaus person and Elijah better than anyone of us do."

"But how will we get Katherine to tell us all this?" Elena asked.

"The tomb." Rose replied. "Get a witch to open the tomb, but not break the spell. Put Katherine in the tomb and she can't get out until a witch breaks the spell. Katherine will be desperate to get out. Mainly because the other 27 vampires in the tomb will want to kill her since it's her meddling with you that got them there. But either way, she'll tell you."

"Ok." Damon said. "One problem, how do we find Katherine?"

"She's most likely here in Mystic Falls." Rose said. "She never misses out any fun. Have you spoken to the werewolves? She might have got involved with them."

"We'll ask the mutts later." Damon planned. "Nina will be good help on that. We'll say that we'll exchange her for Katherine's whereabouts."

"Hey!" I shouted. Damon rolled his eyes.

"But we wont hand you over." He explained.

"Wait!" I said, suddenly remembering something. "A few weeks ago I remember Tyler's Uncle Mason talking to Tyler. Mason was asking Tyler if he had seen a white rock."

"That's more or less what it looks like." Rose said.

"Yeah? Well Tyler said yes and he gave the rock to Mason." I finished.

"So Mason has the moonstone?" Damon checked.

"Obviously."

"Ok. He'll probably be at the Lockwood house so let's go get us a werewolf." Stefan ordered. Damon stood up, as did Stefan.

"Nina, Elena, you 2 girls stay here. It's not safe with us." Damon said. Me and Elena both frowned, but nodded. And within the next fraction of a second, the 3 vampires were gone.

"So this is fun." I shrugged.

Elena nodded and moved to sit next to me on the couch. "It's really obvious, you know?"

"What is?"

"That you have a little crush on Damon."

I forced a laugh. "You've got to be kidding! Me like Damon? Please."

"Nina." She scowled.

"Ok, fine. I have a crush on Damon. But don't worry, we've talked and we're not going to act on it. As much as I'd like to..."

"Nina, he'll hurt you." Elena pointed out. "He's not Stefan. He wont consider your feelings."

"I know." I sighed. "I just wish he was like Stefan. You're so lucky to have him."

"I am." Elena laughed. "Well don't worry, you'll find someone."

If that someone was Damon, then I was already there.
