Alex's P.O.V.

"Kyle, NO" I shrieked as Kyle started tickling me. we were watching a DVD in my room together and we started bickering which led to the tickling fest. I couldn't stop laughing and my stomach started to hurt as Kyle kept tickling me "Okay okay, fine I surrender"

"Good" Kyle said before pulling me up so we were both sitting straight on my bed again "I really missed your laugh, Al."

"I missed laughing" I said, smling at him "So thank you for making me laugh again"

"It was my pleasure" Kyle winked at me "Cole called while you were sleeping this morning" he said with a dry voice "He said he wants to hang out. Why did you go see him when I told you he was bad new, Alex?"

"I wanted to give him a chance, Kyle. He's not his dad. He told me what his dad did to your mom and all that happened. You can't keep hating hi for what his father did, he's running the pack great now. Have they attacked you or hurt anyone since he took over?"

"No, but I don't trust him around you"

"I've been alone with him a lot, Kyle. He had a million chances to hurt me, he didn't."

"He kissed you"

"It was a mistake, he regrets it, and I forgive him. Even your mom said you shouldn't blame him."

"I'll try...but only for you"

"that's all I ask" I said "I feel happy now, Kyle And if we get back to the old group; me, you, Cole and Logan. It would be the cherry on top, yesterday I hugged Logan, I actually hugged him. Imagine how great it felt to touch someone without flinching, that only happens with you"

"I'm glad" Kyle grinned at me "I told you you'd get through this, Alex. Baby steps, and soon enough you'll move on. And I'll be here every step of the way."

I smiled, touched by his words and had a sudden, terrifying idea. "Kyle?" he looked at me and I took another deep breath "I want to try something"

"Sure" he said looking at me curiously

"Just stay still okay?" he nodded and I stood up on my knees on the bed and went towards him I gulped and leaned closer till our faces were close. I felt traces of fear and panic but forced them down. I moved my face closer and brushed my lips against his, feeling the tingles. Kyle stiffened and I knew he was struggling with what he should do so I took a deep breath and pressed my lips against his. It wasn't a deep kiss, nothing passionate or earth shattering, it barely even lasted fice seconds, but it gave me a feeling I had never felt before...love.

I pulled back and looked at Kyle, silently berrating myself for being afraid to deepen the kiss. But I thought about what Kyle said; baby steps.

Kyle was staring at me with wide eyes and he looked like he wasn't breathing. After a while he exhaled and just looked at me and I almost cried at the admiration in his eyes "Thank you" he said

I frowned "For what?"

"For trusting me enough to kiss me"

"I do trust you Kyle. I know you'd never hurt me and I'm sorry it wasn't a huge kiss and that I can't take it further I just can't help myself and-" he interrupted me by pinching my cheeks together making it hard to talk.

"I told you, Alex. I'm not expecting anything from you. I'll love everything you give me but I won't ever pressure you for more, as long as you're with me. I'm happy."

"Thank you" I said and he smiled and pulled me to him, putting his arm around my shoulders again as we continued to watch the movie we had forgot we were watching.

"I can't believe I'm doing this" I said as I walked with El in the mall. I had finally decided that a new me, a new start won't happen if I keep hiding in baggy, clothes that aren't me, that I wore because of what had happened. So I asked El to take me to the mall, no one knew what I was doing, because I wasn't sure I was going to go through with it myself.

I only tried on one outfit to know my size because I hadn't really cared to see what size I was after what happened. And after that I just pointed at stuff I liked and got them in my size, feeling the slightest bit of happiness from spending so much of my parent's money even though I knew clothes wasn't even going to cause a scratch in their bank account.

I suddenly had an idea, and I went to the nearest jewelry store. As soon as I got in a sales woman walked up to me.

"Hi, how may I help you?""

I looked back at El who stayed with me the entire shopping trip but let me take the lead, and I know she did that so I could do what I want, and depend on myself. She smiled and nodded to me

"I'm looking for a gift for a guy"

The woman beamed and told me to follow her, we looked through everything but nothing felt right. It wasn't until I asked her a specific request that she looked torn.

"Okay but don't tell the manager I showed these to you. He thinks they're 'trinkets' not decent jewelry.   I made them and kept them here. But since you asked..."

She went to the back and came back with a box and as soon as she showed me what was inside I smiled "This is perfect"

Kyle's P.O.V.

 "Logan, what are you doing?" I asked as Logan carried a big metal barrel to our backyard, with El following close behind.

"El's orders" he said as he gestured back his head at El, who was walking proudly behind him

"Okay, I redirect my question to you, El. What is Logan doing?"

"Starting a fire"

"And why is that?"

She was about to answer when she looked behind me and smiled "That's why"

I turned around and froze in my place, Alex was standing at the backdoor leading to the backyard with a suitcase in her hand. But that's not what surprised me, she was wearing tight jeans with a short sleeved shirt that wasn't too tight and didn't have much cleavage but was a major improvement than the baggy clothes she used to wear. I was stunned speechless.

"Kyle, KYLE!!" I heard Alex say as I snapped out of my haze "where did you go off to?"

"Sorry" I said,I looked around and noticed Logan had started a fire in the metal barrel. "What are you doing?"

"A new start" She said with a smile

Alex's P.O.V.

Kyle stared at me, confused as put the bag I was holding down and opened it, taking out a pile of clothes. I walked towards the fire and took a deep breath before throwing the clothes in it.

"I can't have a new beginning without a new me, a new look, can I?"

Kyle grinned at me and scooped up a pile of clothes, handing them to me as I took them with a smile and thew them.

It didn't take long till I had an epty suitcase and a closet full of new clothes in my room. "You did good, Al."

"Thanks" I said and turned around and grinned at him "Can you come with me for a moment?"

"Sure"

he followed me up the stairs and to my room "You know you look amazing" Kyle said as I went to my opened my dresser and go out the small box.

"Thanks" I said as I turned around. I took a deep breath and gave him the box "This is just something, I thought you'd like"

He raised an eyebrow but didn't answer as he opened the box and looked shocked at what was inside. I knew he was looking at the necklace I bought him. It was the shape of a crescent moon with a wolf in the middle howling. "Turn it around" I said wanting him to see what the 'Always yours, Alex' I ordered to be engraved at the back.

"This is amazing, Alex" he said with his heart stopping smile "you didn't have to get me this, Alex"

"yes I did. I know you're not pressuring me to do what mates usually do. But...I just wanted to assure you that I'm your mate, no matter what." I said as I moved closer to him, planting a small kiss on his lips just like before." 

I pulled away and he wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly "Thank you, Alex."

"Thank you, Kyle."

We sat together for a while, talking and after he left I got dressed in my pjs and got ready for bed, feeling happier than I had in a long time.

I brushed my teeth and just as I got back to my room I had an eerie feeling that someone was watching me. I turned to leave the room when and I gasped at the figure in front of me but before I could do anything a napkin covered hand covered my mouth and I lost consciousness.
