Hey guys! Here's your update and thanks for being patient and amazing, it's almost summer so I'll try my best to be here! (I have a violin exam coming up and some language exams too so this is like a one-off.) Also!!! I've been spelling Mirajane wrong, so this chapter it'll be spelt correctly :)

Laxus' POV

Even though I'd barely known this girl for 24 hours, a feeling in my gut told me to go back. Sure it might have been because of the guards who were on patrol around Magnolia but it didn't feel safe for me or Mirajane. 

Maybe if I go back just to check on her, a guard could have seen her with me... Maybe. My excuses for going back were no better than my original gut feeling, in the past however it had saved me and the other Dragon Slayers countless of times.

'"Laxus, why aren't we going back to the treehouse?" A small fragile Wendy asked, tugging at my cotton shirt. "And why did you send Natsu and Gajeel to the dangerous river? Are we going there now?"

"Wendy calm down, have you got your stuff in your rucksack?"

"Yes."

"Good. I got a feeling that we won't be safe there anymore." I took hold of the small girl's hand and led her through the forest until we came to a clearing where Natsu and Gajeel were waiting with two large containers filled with water.

"How come you made us go to the other river today? What the he-...." Gajeel paused as he saw the rucksack on Wendy's back and the three I was carrying. "Again? Why do we keep runnin'?"

"Because you two are barely 14 and Wendy's just 11. I don't want any of you to have to fight the Royal Guards, they're a tricky bunch with nasty tricks."'

Two days after we left the newspapers all over Fiore had the same headline, 'DRAGON SLAYER HIDEOUT FOUND, HABITANTS MISSING'. 

The cloak Mirajane had given me was very useful when I had to pass people on the street. Apparently in Magnolia everyone despises people like me. I walked past a group of people who seemed to be a part of a guild, one of them kept his eyes on me as if he knew what I was. When I met his stare he suddenly looked forwards and it was as if he'd never made eye contact.

Eventually I got back to Mirajane's apartment, I was about to knock on the door when I felt a sudden shake in the building. 

"Mira?" I called out. 

No response.

"Mirajane! Is everything okay?"

I heard a groan coming from within her apartment, and not that  kind of groan. 

Then I made the decision to break her door down to get in. I'm such a gentleman.

When I eventually broke the door down I was met with a sight which both surprised and worried me. A body was hovering above the floor, scale wings keeping it afloat, clawed hands with similar scales and quite the revealing outfit. Not that I was complaining. Whatever it was roared, and the voice which it used was only slightly different to the voice of Mira.

"Is...Is that you Mirajane?" A feeling of guilt hit me like an arrow in my chest. "I didn't... I didn't know." 

Suddenly I was thrown across the apartment crashing into some drawers. Sparks erupted all over my body and I snarled. "Mira, I really hope that was an accident. Because I really don't want to hurt you in my self-defence."

  "Hah! You think your puny volts can hurt me?"  She barked, putting her hands on her hips and grinning, revealing her white fangs. There was a large crack on her face, running from her forehead over her right eye and down to her jawline. 

Shit, at this rate I'm going to have to fight her. I don't want to hurt her, and I'll make myself obvious... 

"Mira-nee!" I looked over to the entrance of the apartment and saw a smaller version of Mira standing there holding a vial of some sort. "Demon Soul begone!"

"Demon Soul?" I looked between the sisters. "So that's not her talking right now?"

"Of course it's not her, I know how to properly use magic whereas she can't even control her own emotions!" Demon Soul laughed.

"Demon Soul, if you don't leave Mira alone then I'll use the vial on you!" Lisanna threatened, although her threatening voice was anything but.

"That thing?" Demon Soul shook her head. "It'll only work when she's still fighting me, I've got control now, I've got the power. She's gone."  

I've got to do something, but what? Fighting will lead to destruction, the Royal Guard will find us. 

  "And now, I think that it's you who should be vanquished Lisanna Strauss." Raising her hand, Demon Soul Mira summoned a ball of demonic energy and aimed it right at Lisanna's frightened face. "Bye bye little Strauss."  

Without thinking, I threw out my arm and watched as a burst of lightning hit Demon Soul. She let out a cry which had two different sides, one I knew was Mirajane.

"Leave Mirajane alone."

"Oh wow! The rogue knight in his sparky armour. How heroic, only knowing her for a short time yet still offering to save her mind." Demon Soul began to cackle. "How?"

"How?" I repeated. "I'll figure that out."

She grinned her devilish grin and held out her hand, a glint in her eye warned me it wasn't safe. Mira? Could she possibly be fighting against Demon Soul? 

A burst of black energy shot out, aimed directly at my face. I leapt towards Lisanna and said, "Get out of here, I'll lead her away from Magnolia."

"I have a better idea," Lisanna looked at me. "Lead her towards the wizard's guild Fairy Tail, it's-,"

"I know where it is, just... do whatever you need to do and I'll get her there." Lisanna nodded and ran out of the apartment. I turned to face Demon Soul, "What's it gonna take for me to convince you to stop whatever you're doing to Mira?"

"You can't stop me, besides I'm what truly resides in Mira's self. She took me in, she knows what I am, she knows she can't get rid of me." She cackled again. "I do hope you realise that when you hit me, you hit her too."

"Wha-," I'd never come across whatever magic this was, so I had no clue how it worked.

"She's screaming with me. You injure me, I may feel the pain but it's her body, she'll feel it much worse than I will." 

"Then Mira, I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." Again I threw out my arm and aimed the bolts at Demon Soul. This time she dodged and instead the bolts hit and crashed through the wall, creating a new doorway into what seemed to be her bathroom. 

This'll take a while.

"Given up yet Sparky?" Demon Soul taunted. "Come on, you like this body... You don't want to see any more big bruises do you?"

Wiping the blood away from my forehead I smiled. "I just want to see it back in it's original state, Mirajane's appearance." 

We'd been fighting for a while, Lisanna had somehow managed to convince most of the townspeople to go in the opposite direction of the Fairy Tail guild and occasionally I saw some other people bearing the guild mark helping her too. It didn't help much that Demon Soul was using Mira's body to try and distract me. 

"Almost there..." I muttered under my breath. We were close to the guild hall, close enough to see a group of people waiting by the doors. "Come and get me Demon Soul!"

She lurched forwards, her claws out ready to tear away at me. Sidestepping as soon as she was about to come into contact with me, I grabbed her by the arm and threw her in the direction of the guild. A look in her eyes gave me some hope, I saw a glimmer which seemed to me like it was Mirajane.

Thank you. It seemed to say.

When Demon Soul landed not to gracefully at the feet of the group waiting for her, she screeched.

"Not you again!"

"Been a while eh?" A distantly familiar voice replied. My eyes widened. I couldn't bring myself to look up at the man who was speaking, but my curiosity wanted to know how Demon Soul would be defeated.

"She and I are one now! She took me in! Absorbed me! You can't change that! You can never  change that! Kill me and you kill her!" Demon Soul seemed to be begging now, she was on her knees from the fall yet it seemed to be on purpose that she was there sitting like that. Showing that she was scared of the small man before her.

"You took over her."

"It's called Take Over magic for a reason!"

Take Over.... I began to think and wondered where I had heard that name before.

"Leave her, let her keep control." The man held up a large jug of water. "Or I will use this."

"You wouldn't dare."

He poured some of the water on to her leg and she screamed as steam rose up from where the water made contact.

"Don't mess with my children."

Demon Soul took one last look at me and said, "At least I've screwed you up." 

What happened next was a blur. Mirajane's body was enveloped in a purple glow, orbs of light formed around her and then it burst like a bubble. The light left in a ribbon like state, leaving an injured Mirajane on the floor, scrapes and bruises covering her skin.

"...Thank you." She whimpered before crashing to the floor.

"MIRA!" Lisanna screamed, I watched bewildered from the sight as the poor sister ran past me to fall to her knees beside her collapsed sister. "What just happened? Master! Did she...?"

"She'll be fine, your friend led her to us and we managed to get Mirajane back." The man squinted in my direction. "Your magic, it's very familiar. What's your name boy?"

"It doesn't matter."

"Come inside, please!" Another person asked.

"I can't-,"

"There he is!" I turned around to see the Royal Guards chasing after me. "Laxus Dreyar you are under arrest!"

"Shit."

"Laxus?" The man said. "Laxus, come into the guild hall now."

I didn't need to be told twice. I left the Royal Guard in the dust as I sprinted towards the safe building. A tall man who resembled Mira had picked her up and was rushing her indoors. As soon as we were all inside, the doors closed and a Solid Script : Wall was placed in front of the doors.

I gave a sigh of relief. I was safe for the moment.

"Laxus... Is that really you?" 

I turned around and my eyes widened.

"Gramps?"

It took me a day to write this chapter so forgive me for any loopholes/typos etc. I'll fix them when I have time.
