The world is silent. No one is saying anything. We all stare at the cold man in the dark cloak in front of the young girl. He's going to kill the young girl. There's nothing we can do about it. At least, that's what I see behind my eyelids. I can't bear to watch. Especially when I hear the words.

"Avada kedavra!"

The crowd gasps, out of what I can assume is horror. How could this man be so heartless? We knew the Potions Master and Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher could be cruel, but we never imagined how far he would go.

I open my eyes.

Hermione is standing, awestruck, in front of Severus.

I look at Voldemort, wondering what had happened.

But he wasn't there. A black cloud of smoke lay in his wake.

"What s going on?"

Of course it was him. Ron walks, hair disheveled and dirt on his face, into the clearing.

"Voldemort has left," Severus says angrily. "But he'll be back."

Rons eyes widen. "What did I miss?"

"Hermione almost died," a girl from the crowd pipes up.

Ron looks at Hermione. He walks confidently up to her, chin held high. Then he grabs her by her waist by one hand and places his other hand in the crook of her neck. He kisses her bridal style. Deeply. Passionately.

I fight the tears. "Harry's dead," I breathe. It's unreal. It's impossible. I look back at Wormtail, who's cowering, one hand holding Harry's wrist, while he's biting his thumb-nail on the other one.

"Wormtail," Severus orders. "Drop the boy."

"Yes, yes, sire. Of course," he says and releases him, scurrying away. I hear his maniacal screeching.

"Was it wise to let him go?" I ask.

Severus shrugs. He glances over my shoulder.

I must not look. I must not look. I must not look.

I look. Harry lays slumped on the ground, cheek pressed to the concrete. I start to walk over to him, but stop. the last thing I need is Voldemort coming back to see me crying over Harry.

I  have to place a shield around my heart and forget.

I walk over to Hermione. "Where are they?" I ask, my voice raspy.

Her eyes soften. "Oh, Val, it'll be-"

I hold up my hand, forcing myself not to think about it. About Him. "No. Where are the Horcruxs? It's time they were destroyed."

She nods and leads me into the castle. We walk down a few halls in silence. "You know, I never hated you. I just knew you didn't truly like me. You were just pushing Harry away for whatever reason. Besides, I was in love with Ron. I always have been." Her last sentence was a whisper.

I think about this. Perhaps I was pushing Harry away. Perhaps I never did like her. It would make sense. I had wanted to rebel. I had been tired of Voldemorts ways, making me pretend all the time. Whatever it was, I had suspected her and Ron from the start so that would explain some things.

But I didn't reply. There was nothing to say.

We keep walking until we stop in front of a wall. "Hermione-?"

"Just wait," she whispers. I see her close her eyes, as if she's in need. A door appears, opening and making creaking noises. My eyes widen. "Welcome to the Room of Requirement." She smiles at my wonderment.

"Welcome to Hogwarts," I mumble to myself.

We step inside. It's dark. I get chills. I feel the magic in the air.

"Over here," Hermione says.

Mirrors line this back wall. The floor is dark wood. "Coming," I reply, walking over to her, glancing over my shoulder every few seconds.

There's a small pile of six objects. They're random; a ring, a book, etc. "These are it?" I ask, surprised.

"There's one more thing. Harry didn't want me to tell you about it at first. But last night he wanted me to give it to you if anything happens to him." She opens a small dark bag. She pulls out a long, silver sword. Rubies and gold shine on the handle and I can tell already there's ancient magic inside of it.

"What is it?" I ask, feeling a pull from it.

"You don't know?" she asks in a low tone. "It's the sword. The sword of Gryffindor."

My eyes widen. I reach for it. She hands it to me. I study it, amazed by how smooth it was. Goblins had to have made it. It was too perfect for an average Wizard to make. But still. You never know. "Who made it?"

"Godric Gryffindor," she answers.

This silences me. I'm so astounded by the fact that Harry gave something so precious as this to me. What have I done to deserve it? All I've done is troubled him... I shake away the thought as a new wave of pain washes over me. I tighten the armor around my heart. It must not be shown. I have to protect myself.

"Are you ready?" Hermione asks.

I shake off my thoughts and nod. I was ready. And even if I wasn't, I had to be. It was time for them to be destroyed, for my father, the Dark Lord, to go down. Hermione sets out the first Horcrux. I raise the word and strike.

So I'm suuuuupe excited about how this is coming along. Are you guys? Let me know!! Vote, Comment, follow.
