Chapter 9

Joel's POV

I wake up the next morning around eight. The girls won't be up for a while. I decide to make a run to IHOP to pick up some breakfast.

I quickly change my clothes and walk downstairs. All four girls are awake, but looking pretty rough.

"And how long were you four up, my lovely?" I ask Andria. "Uh all night," she mumbles. I shake my head, "What did I tell you?" She nods, "I know Joel, you wanted us to sleep. I'm sorry." I smile, "It's okay, love. You four take a power nap, and I'll go get some breakfast." She nods. The four of them lay down, yawning.

I leave the house and drive to IHOP. I pick up a ton of pancakes, and drive back to the house. On my way home, Moriah calls me.

"Hello love," I smile, picking up the phone. "How's it going, dear?" She asks. "The girls were up all night. Jude was really wild too. Luke had a hard time putting him to bed," I tell her.

"I'll be home by lunch, okay? Keep the house in one piece?" She teases. "I will, darling. See you soon. Be careful," I say. "I will. Love you," she replies. "Love you," I smile, hanging up.

I get back to the house, and see Libby, Luke, and the boys. The girls are now sound asleep. I gesture for those awake to follow me into the kitchen, and I shut the door.

"I brought pancakes!" I exclaim. Jude smiles, "Yay! Pancakes are my favorite. You know that, don't you, Uncle Joel?" I nod, "I did know that, bud. Help yourselves. There's enough for the girls when they wake up."

"How late we're they up last night?" Luke asks. "I came down at eight this morning, and they were awake, but barely," I reply. "It was their first sleepover," Libby reminds us.

"Daddy, we gonna see momma today?" Jude asks. "Mhm. We sure will, bud. Auntie Moriah will make some lunch, and then we'll go see mom, okay?" Luke replies. "'Kay!" Jude says happily, taking another bite of his pancakes.

"What are the girls going to do today?" Libby asks. I shrug, "I'm not sure. Whatever they want. Once they wake up, if they want to go to the movies or the mall, they can." She smiles, "That's a good idea, big bro."

After breakfast, Luke puts a sticky Phoenix and Jude in the bathtub. I sit and chat with Libby. After the boys' bath, the girls wake up, still looking tired, but better than they did this morning.

"Good morning, lovelies! How was your nap?" I ask. "It was good. What did you get for breakfast?" Andria asks, jumping up. She grabs her friends' hands and helps them up.

"I got some pancakes, you'll need to heat them up," I tell them. The four of them nod, and walk into the kitchen.

While Lucy heats them up, Andria pours glasses of milk. Wren and Eden get out plates, silverware, and syrup.

Jude runs into the kitchen, "Ari! You're awake! I missed you!" Andi leans down and hugs him, "Good morning bud. How did you sleep?" Jude grins, "Good."

Luke enters the room, carrying Phoenix, who is tugging at his curls. "Stop!" Luke bats his hand away. "Good morning girls," He says, waving at the girls.

Lucy helps Eden put some pancakes on each plate. "Good morning Luke!" Wren exclaims. Andria looks down at her feet, "Sorry for staying up all night, Luke." He chuckles, "It's all good, lovely."

The girls eat their pancakes. "So Joel, what are the plans for the rest of today?" Andi asks curiously. "Do you wanna go to the movies, or the mall?" I reply.

"You guys wanna see Moana?" Lucy asks excitedly. "Yes! I've been waiting for that one!" Eden agrees. "Then let's do it!" Wren says. Andi nods, "Can we see Moana, Joel?"

"Sure can, my dears. Although, we'll have to wait until this afternoon," I reply. "What's the plan until then?" Libby asks. "I don't know. Would you girls like to go to the mall?" I ask them.

"That'd be fun!" Andi exclaims. "Let's get ready to roll," Eden chuckles. The girls run off to change their clothes, and get ready to go.

A few moments later, the girls are ready. "Okay, we can leave whenever you're ready," Andria says. "Luke, are you coming too?" I ask. "I might just stay here until Moriah gets home," he replies.

"Tell Ari and the girls good-bye," Luke tells Jude. He runs up to Andi, "Bye Ari! I'll miss you!" He exclaims. She scoops him up, and he hugs her. "Love you, bud," she places a kiss on his head, and ruffles his hair.

He waved goodbye to the other girls, and comes over to me, "Bye Uncle Joel." I smile, "Bye buddy. Be good." He nods.

Andria quickly hugs Luke and Phoenix. "Okay Joely, I'm ready," she says. "Okay, girls, let's head out," I say. Libby, Andria, Eden, Lucy, and Wren follow me to the car.

I turn up the Air1, and we drive the short distance to the mall. "Stay together, girls. Don't walk off," I instruct. They nod in agreement, and follow me inside.

"What store should we go to first?" Libby asks. "The bookstore!" Eden and Wren exclaim in unison. Lucy and Andria nod in agreement.

We walk to the bookstore, and the girls run in four different directions. "Well, so much as sticking together," I sigh, looking at Libby. "At least they're all in the same store," she shrugs. I find the religious section, and smile when I see my own book Priceless. I pick it up, and tuck it under my arm; I'm going to buy this for Andi.

I find Andi looking at the teen fiction. "Find anything good, love?" I ask. She shrugs, "Not really. You getting anything?" I hold up Priceless, "I'm buying you this." She giggles, "Really? Don't you have some copies at home?" I nod, "Of course. But I like to see people's reactions."

"Thanks for bringing us here, Joely. I know you really didn't want to host this sleepover solo," she says, smiling at me. "No problem, my dear, it's been fun." About twenty minutes later, Libby finds the girls, an we get ready to leave.

"You girlies are going to want to watch this," I whisper to the girls. I walk to the cash register, and put the book down.

The cashier smiles at me, "Find everything okay, sir?" I nod, "Quick question, does this guy look like me?" She gives me a crooked smile, "Actually he kinda does. I've heard good things about that book, you'll have to let me know if it's any good." I stifle a laugh, and nod, "I will. You have a good day, dear." I take the change and receipt and we leave the store.

"That was so funny!" Lucy exclaims. "You'll have to tell her if it's good, Joel," Libby jokes. The girls joke and laugh as we all walk around the mall. Libby takes them into Hot Topic, and I find a waiting area and sit down to text Mo.

"Are you home yet, love?" I press send, and wait a couple minutes for her reply. "No, not yet. I'll be leaving Courtney's soon. How's the day going?" She types back. "Good. I'm at the mall with the girls and Libby. This afternoon, before the others go home, we're going to see Moana. Would you like to come?" I ask. "Yes. I'll see you soon handsome. Xoxo," she replies.

I put my phone into my pocket and walk into Hot Topic. I feel very out of place in this store. I see Wren and Eden looking at Harry Potter stuff, while Lucy and Andi are at the Disney section. Libby is nearby sorting through some pins.

"Do you see anything you need, my lovely Andria?" I ask. She holds up a few pieces of Disney themed jewelry, "Can I get these?" I take them from her hands and check the prices, "Narrow it down to two, and I'll buy them." She nods, and quickly hands me her two choices. After buying those, we head to the food court for lunch.

"Okay ladies, where shall we eat?" I ask. All four girls look at each other and grin, "Chick-Fil-A!" Libby nods, "Sounds good!" The six of us walk to Chick-Fil-A.

The girls order their food, and find a nice table. Libby stays, helping me carry the food to the table. I quickly bless the food.

"We're going to go pick up Moriah so she can come with us to the movie. I'm going to call you girls' parents and see if they'll be willing to pick you lovelies up at the theater after the movie," I tell everybody. The girls nod, then begin discussing all the books that they hope to read.

I turn to Libby, "Are you coming to the movie?" She shakes her head, "I'm going to head home after this trip. But thanks for bringing me along big brother!"

We all get into the car, and drive back to the house. I quickly hug Libby, "See you later, sis. Thanks for hanging out with us." She kisses my cheek, "Love you, big bro." I nod, "You too." She gets in her car and leaves. I follow the girls inside.

I greet Moriah with a kiss, "Hello, love. I'm going to call the other girls' parents and see if they'll pick them up after the movie." She nods, "Okay, I'll go talk to the girls."

I pull out my phone and cal each of the girls' parents. They agree to pick their daughters up after the movie.

"Okay ladies, we're good to go," I announce. The six of us walk to the car. I drive to the closest movie theater. Moana starts in about fifteen minutes.

"Which movie?" The woman at the counter asks. "Moana. I need six tickets," I smile. She nods, and tells me the price. I had her some money. She hands me the change, and we move on to buy snacks.

The girls sit down; Moriah and I take two seats a row above them. The movie is just getting ready to start, and I take Moriah's hand in mine. I kiss it softly, and we watch the movie together.
